The way you just zoned out and started to make silly noises for minutes makes this the perfect end of the year Katamari game imo if you ever run out of Marios lol
it's not choking at the finish line , it's the equivalent of that scene in angel's in the outfield where he tells the kid to run home in a baseball game and he just runs to his house instead. lol
This game feels like it came to us from an alternate universe where Sonic 3D Blast got really popular and became the template for 3D Sonic moving forward.
Are you kidding? The gap between Marble It Up and Sonic 3D Blast is as wide as the gap between Sonic Forces and Sonic 3D Bl...wait, I think I see your point.
There are times when I worry Dan’s enthusiasm is feigned, and I’m sure it sometimes is. Then there are times like this. Between this and Katamari I feel like Dan just needs to embrace that he is a little kid or dog at heart who likes to play with ball. ❤
I don't know if you ever saw it, but there was a game for the original Wii call "Mercury Meltdown." It's a weird mix of marble platformer and puzzle that you might find interesting.
I probably commented something like this on the first Marble it Up! video, but when I was a kid a game called Marble Blast Gold was packaged with our family Mac computer, and it's absolutely incredible to see the developers of that same game coming back after all these years and remaking my childhood. And now it's coming to PlayStation, so I'll actually get to sink my teeth into it!
13:45-14:35: The first levels of an old-school 2D Sonic game, at least. If you want to see how the later levels might play in 3D, look at some of the gimmick levels in Marble Blast PlatinumQuest. 19:55: I bet speedrunners can use that bumper to change direction without slowing down. 28:15: Makes sense; friction is proportional to, among other factors, an object's weight. That is, the force holding the object to the surface. 41:14: You never want to hear that ten minutes before the end of a video. (Unless it's a game with levels in the ten-minute range, or you like watching Dan suffer.)
Dan: I don't like rolling around ramps and stuff as a blue rolly-polly hedgehog. Also Dan: Marbles go brrrrr. :P Maybe sonic games could take some inspiration from marbles. Edit: Wrote this before Dan brought up his thoughts on Sonic. :P
Every time he went "Vrrroooom!" I felt like another year was added to my life. This is truly one of the best and most wholesome lets-plays I've ever seen.
This game has Sega era Sonic Bonus Stage energy with fun bright clear Playstation One era visual design but in high definition. 3D Sonic really ought to have leaned in this direction.
If you like these, there's also marble simulator on steam that lets you make the course and how many marbles to put in the race. I've seen it used where the marbles were the patreon's names.
This just sent me back to middle school holy cow. I remember playing Marble Blast in computer lab forever ago. May need to grab this for some nostalgia and MARBLE TIME.
I used to play this marble platforming game on the xbox marketplace when I was a kid called "Marble Blasting" or something similar, it was one of my favourite after school pastimes.
Sometimes when RUclips asks me whether a video was "Inspirational" or "Entertaining", I don't know, but this time I'm so ready. Be the vrrroooom you wish to see in the world.
This is such a nostalgia trip! I played soooo much Marble Blast Ultra back in the day, and was so sad to learn it was delisted when my 360 finally died. I do miss the Marble Blast Ultra soundtrack tho. This soundtrack is great, but a bit more chill than the old one
one of my favorite obscure games was one made by Microsoft called Ballance (fitting pun!). its for all intents and purposes a marble platformer, and it had some simple yet fun mechanics. not sure if you can get the game anymore but I got reminded of it by this video
I remember a different rolling ball game that I enjoyed back in the day called Rock Of Ages, where you're the Rock of Sisyphus wreaking havoc across space and time, also good times, but not in a speedrunny sort of way, more of a break buildings sort of way, but there is platforming involved I believe there was also a sequel at some point, but I haven't played it
One of the folks that helped make this game also makes content on Twitch/RUclips as Marblr. However, most of their content is regarding the odd behaviors and bugs regarding Overwatch and its 38 heroes.
they did kororinpa one year which i stayed up way too late to watch live because No One remembers Kororinpa but was a wii staple in my household. oh and Rolled Out! (and of course they do frequently showcase monkey ball)... all this to say yes more marble rollers in GDQ!
"Vrrroooom!"
One of the many marbleously endearing and unexpected moments that make me simply adore Playframe.
Thanks a ton for the video and the exposure. Really hope you dig the game!
The way you just zoned out and started to make silly noises for minutes makes this the perfect end of the year Katamari game imo if you ever run out of Marios lol
I also thought of Katamari when this started
You know it's a good game when the commentary becomes "hup. hup. oooh"
Definitely picking this up. Makes brain go brrrrrrr
I love the soft "no..." when you fall off a ledge!
And I nominate overshooting the goal for the highlight reel
"And now we slalom, as fancy chocolate does."
Ah, so it's Swiss then?
Dan really is just the most precious person on RUclips.
Tied for first place with Carrie, of course
it's not choking at the finish line , it's the equivalent of that scene in angel's in the outfield where he tells the kid to run home in a baseball game and he just runs to his house instead. lol
This isn't the sort of game I get a lot of enjoyment from playing, but it is an absolute hoot to watch someone *else* play.
"The Subtle Joy of Rolling" feels like it just _has_ to be a line from a Katamari game, right?
This game feels like it came to us from an alternate universe where Sonic 3D Blast got really popular and became the template for 3D Sonic moving forward.
Are you kidding? The gap between Marble It Up and Sonic 3D Blast is as wide as the gap between Sonic Forces and Sonic 3D Bl...wait, I think I see your point.
I love how you kept trying to end the episode, but got distracted by getting new stuff to check out XD
It really shows how much fun this game is.
It would make a great "filler" game - a game you play on stream when you theres nothing new you're interested in
i played marble blast ultra & get why he loves it
There are times when I worry Dan’s enthusiasm is feigned, and I’m sure it sometimes is.

"It. Will. Be. Mine" I'm very here for Goblin Mode Floydo
I've gotten totally into Marbula One, which is marble based Olympics and races! Thank you for getting me into marble racing! Marbles!
I don't know if you ever saw it, but there was a game for the original Wii call "Mercury Meltdown." It's a weird mix of marble platformer and puzzle that you might find interesting.
"Rosen Bridge" is a very good joke! Good job, game. xD
"Leaf on the Wind" means you can't take the sky from the marbles
It is a leaf on the wind; watch how i-
To not quite quote Atreyo, "Today I become the ball!"
How is Dan always just so adorably wholesome!?

Another good sonic game this year, wow
Also reminds me of Yoku's Island Express, which is a 2D marble platformer/pinball, I guess.

I don't think this game would keep my interest a long time, but I'm always happy to hear Dan enjoying himself :)
23:18 - that was a hell of a trick and he didn't even seem to notice 😆
Dan: I don't like rolling around ramps and stuff as a blue rolly-polly hedgehog.
Also Dan: Marbles go brrrrr.
:P

Marbles go VROOOOM, weren't you listening?
@@synthose To you I can only say one thing: ruclips.net/video/IvUU8joBb1Q/видео.html
Wait there is a second part for it??? HECK YES
Thank you so much for letting us know of this^^

This reminds me of the game Distance which is basically platforming as a car. Good tunes in that one too!
I am very simple man. I see video title. I pull out credit card.
RIP Dan, he lost his marbles
Watching you play something you enjoy deeply is satisfying in a way I don't have words for
This would be a great game to stream on twitch
Steam:
"Similar to games you have played: Sonic Adventure 2"
Who knew Steam had a sense of humor?
If you like these, there's also marble simulator on steam that lets you make the course and how many marbles to put in the race. I've seen it used where the marbles were the patreon's names.
Patricia Taxxon has a great video essay about Marble Blast and Marble It Up. If you like this game, you might find it interesting!
Is PT still making videos? I haven't seen any recently, but I loved what I saw!
Link?
@@The_RayBlast I don't think he's in any marble games.

@@ashleyboots3386On Tumblr, she's been talking about an album she's excited about. No idea whether she's planning any video essays, though.
Dan, if you're reading this, you must watch that video essay.
10:06 I am a leaf on the wind, watch how I soar.
This just sent me back to middle school holy cow. I remember playing Marble Blast in computer lab forever ago. May need to grab this for some nostalgia and MARBLE TIME.
I used to play Marble Madness way back in the NES days. It was more of a puzzle platformer but it was a good time. Might try this one too
I used to play this marble platforming game on the xbox marketplace when I was a kid called "Marble Blasting" or something similar, it was one of my favourite after school pastimes.

Me as someone who never heard of this game: This explain the Sonic videos
Both games are in fact available on Switch (with the Ultra version on pre-order).
If you want a marble game that's more about precision rolling than speed, I highly recommend Venineth. The environments are amazingly gorgeous.
Thanks for the recommendation I found a trailer and it looks dope I'll probably try it out.
one of my favorite obscure games was one made by Microsoft called Ballance (fitting pun!). its for all intents and purposes a marble platformer, and it had some simple yet fun mechanics.
not sure if you can get the game anymore but I got reminded of it by this video
Imagine a spherical Mario
Like marble madness for the NES? That was a family favorite
I'm only 15 minutes into the video and already my neck hurts
The silver medal makes me think of the school logo from Persona 3
I didn't know this game was a thing, but having watched it, it is a thing I immediately need.
Very Super Monkey Ball vibes but without the anxiety!
Or the monkey, I assume.
Yeah I got the previous game after the last video and had an absolute blast, I'm definitely getting this one tomorrow.
10:05 Watch how you soar.
This. This is the perfect Sonic 3D Spinball game.
Not enough people recognize the scientific truth that making "vrooom" sounds objectively makes you go faster.

Thanks for the video! This is a great look at the game for anyone new to it. We really hope you dig it.
Neat! It gives me some nostalgic vibes for an old game called Marbel Madness.
One of the folks that helped make this game also makes content on Twitch/RUclips as Marblr. However, most of their content is regarding the odd behaviors and bugs regarding Overwatch and its 38 heroes.
Ohhhboy, I think I need to go play MIU again and get my skills back for the update! One of the best platformers out there.
I wanna see this at a GDQ
Or better yet, one of the janky old Marble Blast games.

I really enjoyed your playthrough of Baba Is You, and I look forward to seeing you play another great game!
This game reminds me of the Wipeout racing series.
Marble blast is D listed??? I still have it on my Xbox 360!
"Delisted" means you can't download it again. Like PT.
@@timothymclean that's why I'm shocked. I got lucky it's still on there! 😭
I really like Marble games, my first one was Marble Madness for the Game gear 😁
Trackmania by way of Super Monkey Ball? I can dig it
I blame Skyroads(1993) for my obsession with these kinda games😂💜
marble stream when
Sonic, but avant-garde.
detroit become ball!
this has great monkey ball vibes
Now this is podracing
How would Sonic boss fights work in this world?
This looks like a really good "flow" game...
Also, I can't help but immediately get sad when I hear the phrase "leaf on the wind". :(
OK, pitch for a new Sonic game. Levels that play like this connected by story sections like The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog
Wanna talk about some dedication?
this game looks perfect for reading reddit threads to
RN3 Cameo
Good orb game
Yeessssss!

*stuck in traffic*
*vroom twenty times to go 20x faster* *literally cuts through peoples cars do to the speed and out of traffic* there that’s better
Honesrly the Sonic comparison lost me.
This feels more like Super Monkeyball to me.
