I extremely agree, I haven’t watched the full video yet but this has been my baby this entire dlc, the ash has a lot of roll catch and timing potential, and the charged version is nuts if you land it. It’s actually very strong for wake ups, or against aggressive opponents and it looks badass while doing it. The regular version comes out so fast and has so much forward momentum aswell as a strong stun so you always get the r1 combo afterward, overall very fun to use. I really like the r2 although it isn’t the easiest to land, it adds to the combo style points when you do. I mainly used them powerstanced or off-fist but I really like the offhand pata and offhalberd setups, will have to try those next. Dope video bro💯

I knew you would like the off-Rakshasa, thing is dumb good (did the math, with 95 or more poise you can "poise roll" the second slash of the AoW after L2 off-GK L1 as seen in 9:03)
I've heard that an offhand great katana L1 true combos into a mainhand katana R1, could be nice on this build it so. I wonder if the Rakshasa also gets hyperarmor in the offhand?
I knew I should've kept a ancient dragon somber stone for this over using it on leda's sword. But I have to say, the aow will stagger any shield users and it feels amazing and it is probably a superb counter to thrusting shields.
@mechamahou8467 It will still have full damage through the shield on the weapon art and from testing against a fingerprint user. He couldn't keep his block up after the second swing poise broke him throughout it. But it does need testing if it staggers or just poise breaks shield users
Do you have any info about your key bindings anywhere? Bc I regularly see you do things that don’t seem possible with the default control setup so I’m curious what you use specifically
lil late but he plays controller (you can tell from his movement) and he uses claw grip most likely. One of the reasons claw grip is good is that you can have your pointer finger holding down b so you can go into sprint instantly
@@draelos8570 yeah I mean claw is bog standard for soulsbornes/soulslikes and really most action games at large, despite it being bad for the ligaments and tendons in your hand. I’m very familiar with that. I was more talking about his movement and whatnot, he moves on too sharp of an axis and turns on a dime too suddenly, you have to do a full rotation to avoid a turnaround animation, which means you can’t turn on a dime at super-speed repeatedly like he always does. Or how he goes from one handing to two-handing weapons instantaneously without even bringing up the hold triangle menu UI. It seems like he has these things bound differently, since I’ve labbed a lot of this stuff ingame over 1600 hours and still can’t figure out how he does these things lol
@@AMetalWorld He does not have anything bound differently. Learn about block cancelling and crouch cancelling to avoid pivot locking during your movement. You don't need to wait for the triangle interface to appear, you can do the inputs without any delay for pouch access and 1h/2h. Edit: The one thing he may concievably have bound differently is the crouch button, since a lot of players like to rebind that, but that is just a comfort thing and is not necessary for good movement.

Thrusting shields have far more guard than shields, not sure this would actually break through.
