I heard the cast of SeaWorld had this ride closed due to seasonal maintenance. But is now open with changes, like as you approach the first lift hill, that evil guy is no longer animatronic, and you get a mystical music loop as you ride through the second and third lift hills and down the only straight drop. Oh, there’s also a theming statue of a hammerhead somewhere before the first lift hill.
seeing this recently has made me so disappointed, the maintenance of the ride nowadays is nowhere near where it was in the quality of this video. the medusa head is turned off, it needs a repaint, and the interactive story elements are in need of a repaint, not colorful, and the effects are turned off. while i still love this ride, i wish it was in better shape lol

Arin is dead it’s a pretty nice ride from what I remember. (I went on it only once several years ago) but who knows, they might have changed it. All I remember is it was a simple ride but a little scary at the time since I’m a coward.
This ride needs some major renovations, a grand update. The sounds were off, the effects were out of synch with the boat riders, everything was off putting from the experience. I used to adore this ride but now it's such a letdown from what it once was.

I went on the ride earlier just today! Trust me... you will literally think that your life is over going down that drop! The first one isn’t bad! If you do decide to go on it, just remember your flying down a 45* angle hill at 42/45 miles per hour! The boat also doesn’t have a roof so wind and water will fly into your extremities partially blinding and deafening you for a few seconds! All and all it’s a good ride but it’s really crazy!! Especially the drop at the end, I swear to god you will fly left and right, up and down on the last turn and drop! I have a fascination for Atlantis so I kinda went to see the inside! It’s really fun though, next time your at sea world! Go on that ride. I promise you’ll have a blast if you like Atlantis and roller coasters!!

Is this less intense than Jurassic park? Because when I went on Jurassic park, I loved it, but the drop was way more intense than I could ever imagine. I had a terrible headache getting off the ride, still worth the fun!
Nah, the drop is 6 feet longer, but they removed the story and effects so it's less "scary". Not a good move IMO, if people wanted a family friendly water ride, they have Infinity Falls for a reason.

The story of this Ride is as follows: fishermen take you on a boat to find Atlantis. throughout the Journey, you are Guided by Hermes, a seahorse stolen by sailors from the head mermaid. The mermaids help you find Atlantis, but before the first drop she notices that you are in possession of Hermes and gets engaged sending you down to the "ocean forever".

You miss the point. It's not because the marketing guy glued on a so called "story" (in the PR-pages of the park) , that the RIDE is TELLING some story. I commented : (copy paste) "...the total lack of any meaningfull (and comprehensive) storytelling...' Meaningfull = when it makes SENSE to the visitor who got in the ride (Zero), and 'comprehensise' = when the visitor 'gets it' truely when going through ( (zero as well). PR-marketing "storytelling" is a glue-on, on a standard off the shelf Mack ride. It's decoration, without BRINGING a story that is grifted in the heads of the spectators. Nothing is grifted in the heads of the spectators, apart from the physical splash... lol .. Rubbish.
I rode this in 4th grade on a field trip... never again. That drop was WAY more intense than I judged it to be.
