I understand what you're saying. God's law is supreme, it's the best possible justice we could have. God is sovereign etc and as a Calvinist I believe all that. But in studying theonomy from Dr Bonson and listening to sermons by Jeff Durbin, James White, whom I love listening to and agree with on almost all doctrines, I have to part ways with them on Theonomy. And I don't mean part ways as in we are no longer. brothers in Christ. Why do I part ways with them on this ussue. 1) Because theonomy leads to a false post millenialist view of eschatology. 2) It claims the church without Christ here will Christianize the world before Jesus comes back and we will present the Lord a millennial time which according to them isn't really a millennium. And we'll have great peace and prosperity before Christ returns. 3) Its just another name for dominionism that the word of faith heretics and Charismatics preach, which is really a sort of prosperity gospel. 5) It alagorizes every prophetic event in Daniel and Revelation. 6) It claims all of Daniel and Revelation except for Christ second coming happened in or about AD 70 destruction of Jerusalem, which is impossible. 8) All my claims can be substantiated by scripture. 9) And finally it blatantly ignores the Noaic, Abrahamic, and Mosaic covenants. You cannot ignore or spiritualize away those covenants or claim the Abrahamic covenant was completely fulfilled and have a right understanding of Israel and the end times. Very poor hermeneutics on their part. You have to create a different hermeneutic for each testament to reach their conclusions.

@royal priest So these men are competent to interpret God’s will? That worked out so well everywhere else, which is why most people are apostate these days. Your confirmation bias is stunning.

It has no place in Christianity but belongs to the toolkit of authoritarians who resemble no one so much as the Ayatollahs of Iran. Get your head straight.

You’re very wrong on just about every point.
