  • Just picked up the Magnaflow #16788 cat-back for my 07’ P71. There’s not many videos on RUclips of this cat-back so I figured I’d make a video on it, as most of the videos on this exhaust system are almost 10 years old and are potato quality. Also nobody really ever mentions this setup for whatever reason either. This is a great quality exhaust and sounds good too. Not loud but you’ll be noticed if you step on it. Inside the cabin is dead quiet, like almost quieter then stock. Roll down the windows and you’ll be treated with a really nice mellow exhaust note that sounds like an old school muscle car. Definitely gotta get some miles on this system and get it broken in, as I have a feeling the tone will change slightly once the mufflers are ‘burned in’ so to say. This system is 409 Stainless, made in the USA and is 2.25 inch with mandrel bends. I’ll definitely do more videos on this set up.

    Very nice! I've got the Magnaflow system on m '07 CVPI myself too. Aside from a mild drone at around 1500rpm I'm very happy with it.

      I’ve not noticed any drone with this setup at all! Love it

    It's a pity they don't make a system for my 2000 Marquis. This has the civilized growl I want.

    • @wjye

      Honestly this system would probably fit your grand marquis. You’d just hafta have a shop figure out different exhaust hangers.

    Were you able to do this yourself? Looking to do the same setup on my p71 but I wasn’t sure if I’d need a lift.

    • @wjye
      @wjye  Месяц назад

      Did it myself in my drive way on ramps. No lift required. You’ll have to cut the stock tail pipes and do some wiggling to get them out but it can be done.

    This is about how I'm wanting my 11 CV to sound ..did you remove rear cats?

    • @wjye
      @wjye  Год назад +1

      All factory cat converters are intact. I imagine it would be louder with a cat delete.

    No crossover pipe is a big disadvantage to performance and the ears. Otherwise this is perfect. I think I'll have them put my 21/4" Magnaflow X-Pipe on the mid pipe and call it perfection.

    • @wjye
      @wjye  Год назад +1

      If this was a more performance oriented engine with higher compression I’d be more concerned about it, but on this application I doubt it makes a huge difference. I may put an “H” into the system later but I love the sound as is and it seems to preform great.

      @@wjye Still would run better with an H or X-pipe than without. That's been dyno proven, and not just my opinion. But, it's your car and if you like it the way it is then thats good enough.

    I have a 05 Grand Marquis that is getting Cat back dual exhaust put on tomorrow, I live in upstate NY. Did you have any trouble having them installed because of emissions and that new bullshit SLEEP act law??

    • @wjye
      @wjye  Год назад +1

      I ordered this online and installed it myself. Mufflers and pipes won’t effect emissions unless you mess with the cats. I’ve had no issues with this setup and haven’t been hassled at all. In my area there are plenty of loud cars still around. The sleep act basically just allows them to charge you more money for fines if your car is obnoxious.

      @@wjye I paid $1200 even for mine, was done on Thursday. Its nice and quiet still which is what I was going for, but its still cat-back dual exhaust. Parts had to be ordered from out of state. I'm happy with the final product.

      The famous 95 MERC's Cat-Back Dual Exhaust was bought and installed for less than $400 clams -- sounds great, looks sharp, and doesn't wake up the sleeping First Responders.
