I'm very fortunate 2 say that Dr Han Suyin, who wrote the book 'A Many-Splendoured Thing,' on which the movie is based, graced my country, Singapore, with her presence. She actually opened a clinic in the fair island Republic in the Central Business District, Shenton Way while she was living in the Lion City. Her book was a semi-autobiographical account of her romance with Mark Eliott, a married Australian war correspondent n her book is groundbreaking in the way depicts love, with very liberal ideas which r atypical of a Eurasian doctor n of the era she was living in.
