Companies sometimes even have spa days where workers indeed go to saunas together if the company is rich enough as like a team relaxation day. But I've never, EVER heard of any workplace having mandatory sauna visits to discuss new ideas for work. It sounds batshit insane, no-one should be forced to go to (especially a mixed one) sauna with their BOSS 💀

His entire staff, which only consisted of 4 people including him, was young women, vulnerable and desperate for a better life, below the age of 25(later on I learned that the girl that worked there the longest joined the team at 16. She moved to the city and had no one to help her settle in and start a life). He would constantly talk to us about inappropriate things, joke about lewd shit and generally boost his ego by putting us in extremely uncomfortable situations by asking very borderline intrusive questions. He always made sure that we understood how his business should be the most important thing in our lives, got genuinely angry at me once for calling in sick because I had to stay home with my mother who was bed-ridden and would have died had I not taken care of her, because how dare I prioritise my own personal life over his business! Going to a sauna with us was on his bucket list, and he was reallly set on having a company meeting with us, and I quote, "while you girls are wearing bikinis. If anyone wears a one-piece, I'll fire you on the spot." A joke, sure, but from that alone I think any and all assumptions of how he talked to us that you make would be correct. He has a 10 year old kid, never talks about his wife, but always brags about the women he's slept with and how smart and cool his son is for his age and how good of a father he is. Took me long enough to realize how awful the work environment is, since he's a really good manipulator and knows how to win people over with charisma, and it's really not fun when people like that slowly get into your head and expand those personal boundaries that you set specifically for these things not to happen. I'm finally two months out of there and genuinely hope the girls that still work with him, and really anyone who is facing such terrible conditions at their job come to their senses and switch careers sooner than I did. english(hi for my sorry bad)

I live in Russia and I'm not very familiar with the laws regarding workplace harassment, I don't have any proof of it happening, and, as much as I've heard, my report would likely be swept under the rug because an ass grab between two adults that know each other is not even generally considered problematic. On top of that, I wasn't officially working with him(idk how it works in other countries, it is kind of illegal, basically means there was no employment contract and no physical proof I ever even set foot in his restaurant). The best I can do is send the IRS or sanitary inspection to clap his cheeks(the kitchen is filthy ash) but he'd already dealt with those guys before multiple times(bribery💅)

I have worked with level design. Going to a location you are basing a plot on is advisable, but you don't physically need to actually go and have a sauna experience. If anything, that is counterproductive because you're not gaining any useful data like photos or notes of what you need to code and design. This guy is a total creep and obviously has no idea how to actually make a game. This is like saying you need to go to a gun range every day if you work on COD or play tennis if you design a sports game, it makes no sense.
It's an extreme requirement for sure but not unreasonable to go try something for real before making it. Not the sauna stuff though. Saunamaster sounds really dumb.
Those last 2 examples are pretty bad imo you really should do those things if you are designing those kinds of games. Not every day though. There are plenty of games where guns are designed so wrong it's obvious the modeler never actually saw a gun in real life.

I have worked with level design. Going to a location you are basing a plot on is advisable, but you don't physically need to actually go and have a sauna experience. If anything, that is counterproductive because you're not gaining any useful data like photos or notes of what you need to code and design. This guy is a total creep and obviously has no idea how to actually make a game. This is like saying you need to go to a gun range every day if you work on COD or play tennis if you design a sports game, it makes no sense.
It's an extreme requirement for sure but not unreasonable to go try something for real before making it. Not the sauna stuff though. Saunamaster sounds really dumb.
Those last 2 examples are pretty bad imo you really should do those things if you are designing those kinds of games. Not every day though. There are plenty of games where guns are designed so wrong it's obvious the modeler never actually saw a gun in real life.

This is an insult to Finnish sauna culture. Sauna is NEVER a sexual place.
A sauna is the only place where nobody in society condemns others for opening up about their troubles or feelings - it's even joked that it's the only place where Finnish men talk openly with eachother. It's a place for honest conversation, as well as for physical cleansing. We even have a thing called 'Sauna diplomacy', where the idea is that shedding clothes sheds your perceived social standing, and everyone is equal.

The thing is, when you go to saunas, and especially people that don't go often, you will see people go to saunas with their towels covering up all the important bits and parts. It's never implied that you have to be naked, it's just that you don't wear anything underneath the towel.

You don’t have to be naked in sauna. In some saunas you can keep your swimwear and in most saunas you have a towel or a big cloth available to hide your sensitive areas. But the nudity is still very common.
