Not only is Gene a great singer, he's also a treasure in that he delves into the pain, misery and/or freedom and redemption in each song. He mines it for emotion. Many modern entertainers cannot move the soul of a person as Gene Watson does. Put him in the HOF!
I wholeheartedly believe that you and I believe that Mr Watson was cheated out of a lot of his notoriety for a lot of the music that he done. I love everything that he ever done. My husband is a avid love of Mr. Watson. He passed away this last June 24 2020. But left impressions on all who heard Ray play and or sing one of Mr Watson’s great songs. He adored Mr Watson’s line of music and we told him some of Mr Watson’s music would be played during this time. I want to thank you for the great years of superb music.

Well, just call me happy. I just got home from a Gene Watson concert and he was wonderful! He sang this song, which just happens to be one of my favorite Gene Watson songs, and he sounded fantastic. The man who played the horn was great.

The so-called records producers today think these types of songs will not sell. They couldn't be more wrong.
