Working with Drew "WZRD BLD" Fulk on the last 2 albums certainly helped the metalcore sound shift. The self-titled album just feels really all over the place in terms of songwriting and production, and it's a shame because I think it's also the last album producer Kato Khandwala worked on before his untimely death.

You just skipped a few iterations in your music evolution- not many imho are able to pull that off but Pop Evil sure as hell did 🎉 even lyrically- they’re raw & real with no bullshit - they alone resonate with me & pulled me in - add in the music & I’m LOVING it! Oh, I definitely feel this whole song is inspired by Darth Vader. The line "I never meant to hurt you" reminds me of Anakin and Padme's relationship and how it tragically ended.
From being the band that I said defined "active rock" to ... this? Damn what a fall. Peaked in 2013, been slowly steadily downhill ever since. Makes this generic mediocrity kinda sad.
