3 Spells Against Narcissist’s “Black Magic” Presence, Voice (LISTEN, PRINT, DECLAIM)

  • Remove the narcissist’s spell: 3 affirmations.
Listen daily, print and paste everywhere, repeat aloud.
    1. It is not about me. It is not my fault. The narcissist lives inside his/her mind and reacts only to internal dynamics. S/he is out of touch with reality.
    2. I was chosen by the narcissist because of his/her needs and fantasy - not because of WHO I am.
    3. The narcissist was compelled to devalue and discard me in order to exorcise his/her inner “demons”. I could have done nothing to prevent it and neither could the narcissist.

I’m a scapegoat from a particularly vicious family. Every time I’m around them, I find myself following the little slime trails of their gossip & lies about me. I would put up with anything, and admit to anything, just to be accepted. But that never happened, because it had nothing to do with me. It was not personal.
Thank you for these liberating words, Sam. I’m 70,and wish I’d known all this when I was a teenager.

@@lilu6766 No human is worth dismissing, book or no. That is an entire person, a life, a sentient being trapped in a prison of their own making. No matter what someone does or says, there still needs to be an element of compassion or we ourselves become dehumanized. Nobody is 100% bad 100% of the time and no one is in a position to be so harshly judging others. We have all (in our own ways in milder forms) at some point in time displayed some or all of these behaviors- maybe not enough to be classified a narcissistic personality, but enough that we should know we are not perfect and have no room to pass judgement. Move on, yes, but do so in a way that does not harden your heart and make you embittered. That enables the cycle of broken people to continue.

These things help me so much! Narcissits are masters of exporting all of their problems and needs and faults to others. My father was probably one for example. Not a very stong all the time but sometimes it got really horrible when his other side became more dominant. I also have to say that he was worse when he was younger and that he became better when he got older. He did things that people can't really imagine because most people who didn't know him really well, just superficially, said that what I and others said is a lie and started to work against me because they have become victims of his manipulation.
They are completely different people in private than they are in public.

Thank you Sam you’re a legend I needed to hear these so much! My boyfriend’s mother is causing so much distress not only to me but to my boyfriend too. She has bullied me, called me names and has been disrespectful to my partner also, she intrudes on our privacy, and she feels she owns him and no one else can have him, we’ve now backed away from her and now she blames me for the “family breaking up” and has deep hatred for me and wishes me dead (her nephew told me this)She has slandered me to the whole family and they hate me. When confronted about what it is I’ve done so wrong she can’t answer because she knows I haven’t. It’s actually insane how she deflects everything she does and aims the lime light towards me. We live right next door and with any bit of luck we will be out in the next few weeks. These words have given me some encouragement and comfort I appreciate them so much. Thank you again.

He however was in denial and his mom is the standard for him and no women could ever compete against her. I had to walk away from all of them all the while he proclaimed none of the so-called truths I pointed out had anybearing on the demise of the relationship. He has weekly trips to see her and didn't give me a callfor anything weekly.. He lives in denial.

not too sure how much distress your mother causes your boyfriend if all of this is mostly directed at you. Sounds like an enmeshed dynamic- has he ever put boundaries in place? Is he able to say no to her? Is there a healthy mother/son relationship? If you look closely enough you will be able to spot this. The lingering thoughts from long ago were hard to negate, try as I may. I will practice this as you suggested…hearing it once lifted a cloud from me immediately. I went to a meeting and kept remembering from counselors, “What is your part, or why did you choose him? I could not answer for years. This question has haunted me. Internally I knew I did not choose him, but I was under a spell, so to speak. Not many people or professionals understand this concept. Thank you again.

Professor Vaknin, I once knew a psychopath who claimed that very early in childhood he recognized he had to establish his own set of morals and he claimed he always adhered to them, although they may have been different morals than those taught to us by parents and society. He also asserted that if there are several true psychopaths at a gathering, they can immediately detect one another. They may work together in exploiting people and situations, not to become friends because that doesn’t matter to them, but because it’s mutually advantageous. Does this sound accurate to you? I’ve been curious about this for years and thought I’d finally ask.

What the fuck within 27 seconds you read my mind. This voice is something I struggle with each day. You really know your shit.
Here's something that's particularly confusing to me. My 'narc' was my best friend and nothing more. He was simply *starting* to get abusive to me in particular, increasingly so towards the end, which is why I terminated our friendship - and paid a dear price for this. The abuse wasn't that bad, or at least didn't feel like it. But today, 10 years later, I am still struggling with significant abstract rumination. His voice is in my head very often. It doesn't feel like it's based on reality, even though he is factually a diagnosed narcissist. I just can't seem to connect his behavioral patterns that well to this ruminatory mental state. Does this imply there was more going on than I initially recall? I don't understand. It wasn't even an intimate relationship - neither of us are gay.

@@phatstar007 well how would you feel? Disrespect, control, crossing my boundaries. Your comment is way out of line on this feed. You have no idea what else he put me through do you? Not to mention that after I left he is stonewalling me. How dare you question my experience.

I was just commenting on your post, not your life story.....I'm not a mind reader! By your attitude, (and your apparent supplement smell) I'm really not surprised the guy did a runner! Best of luck for your future and health.

Professor, please, talk about Self Supply. I am trying to help myself and have control over myself the same way you do to you. I know I can't but I can devote my life to work on it instead of depending on him to make me feel stable. I am boderline and he is a narcisit. 17 years of marriage, first and unique love. He betrayed me and went away to restart with his new supply. It didn't work and I still begging for him to return to me. I am killing myself while I am trying to survive my own mind. Please, help me!
    Thank you for existing ❤

Funny one day. I heard in my intuition she is dead. I had a narc CBT. I thought she really died. Then a huge wind came out of me. Some say that was her demon. After I was told by some voice. She is dead. She wasn’t. The curse was broken. It took me 4 months to go no contact because she was elderly and I felt bad she crossed the line and made me her friend. Oh boy my first mistake. . A CBT practicing and charging for phone sessions at 82 years old. Flying monkeys all around who loved her money as it goes to them. It’s real. In therapy she built me up. Fake empathy. Then would tear me down. It was a nightmare. 70 000 over 10 years for her therapy. 10
Years and I got sicker and sicker with her inner child work. It was the best school ever. I can follow ever word you say. Because I loved it from a therapist.

Dear professor, thank you for this. On another note, does a narcissist derive any long term relief through devaluing/projectively identifying a particular supply - or do they need fairly constant renewal of supply to find this relief?

I have been diagnosed with PPD. I suspect my dad is a narcissist in addition to having been diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
Im in treatment. He is not. I would be willing to be interviewed. However i wouldn't want my name in it so I will delete this comment at some point. I don't know if this is something you'd be interested in or not.
