      Without the European colonial project it’s difficult to see how the Nguni expansion would have been stopped. Southern Africa would have been run by Nguni Kingdoms and Empires. Dingane and Mkhabayi were unlikely to plot and succeed to kill Tshaka.

    Hlobisa Xaba a.k.a Nyamazana was a concubine in sobhuza's kraal in Mpumalanga when she saw that the men were very nervous about the oncoming Zwangendaba who was fleeing from the war in the south. Oh, she was the most beautiful woman in the kingdom, with a body to kill. As it turned out, she had the heart of a lion, and was vicious on battlefield. She crept out of the palace to meet this Zwangendaba Jele before he invaded. She assured him that the men and the king were very nervous and that he would win. She gave him details about the army and devised a strategy. In the battle she was unbelievable, slicing men, and some soldiers commented that she had resembled a wild animal (inyamazane). Nyamazana as she was known from that point, was appointed chief of the captured Swati warriors and on they went across the Limpopo. After many years of defeating the shona, and settling, they heard that Mzilikazi was on his way across. Zwangendaba suggested they move on, but Nyamazana declined. Off Zwangendaba went, and Nyamazana met Mzilikazi when he crossed. His comments were, "umile nje ngenyenyevu", she is built like a catapilla. The rest is history.

    Point of correction sir Zwàngendaba , soshangana once settled in Zimbabwe but they were driven out buy the Shona. The only Ngoni leader to defeat the Shona was a lady named Nyamazana

    • @khaltsharivist365
      @khaltsharivist365 2 года назад +3

      Mzilikazi Khumalo has entered the chat. There is no record of Any Shona group defeat of any Nguni or even Sotho groups in battle. There is a a trail of destruction left by each group passing through. You misread the modus operandi of these migrating groups - moving on after pillage and plundering is not being repelled. Zwangendaba passed through plundering on his way up north to Tanzania, Sebetwane did the same raiding and finally settling in Zambia forming what became known as Barotseland kingdom, and ofcourse it was Queen Nyamazana Dlamini who was Zwangendaba’s niece (and later Mzilikazi’s wife) who brought the curtains down on the last Rozwi king. In anycase Soshangane Nxumalo established the vast Gaza empire which stretched from Limpopo to Zambezi and was only overthrown by the Portuguese. You are right that Soshangane had established his capital in Zimbabwe and it was only moved to Mozambique by his grandson Mdungazwe to Mozambique.

    Great lesson, though I see a mix-up of the Ngoni with the Ndebele. These were two distinct groups that were led by two respected generals in shaka's army.

    • @andilegxelesha-maqashu7348
      @andilegxelesha-maqashu7348 2 года назад +1

      Oh dear, this is completely false. The Ngoni and the "Ndebele" both come from the Nxumalo. The Zulu come from the gMthethwa. The "Ndebele" are in fact not ndebele at all, they are khumalo/ntungwa.

    • @mzingeli3585

      Ngoni left under Zwangedaba Jere while Ndebele left under Mzilikazi.
