    This was long before I was born.
    Melbourne looks so different back then to what it is now but there are still the major streets I can still recognize from the video and see how much had changed since then.

    Hi Gezza, well done with this video. My dad and I visited Melbourne in early 1967 on holiday from Sydney. In 1981, I moved to Melbourne and have been here ever since. I was always a great fan of Homicide and when here in Melbourne in 1967, my dad and I caught a taxi and even travelled along the South Eastern Expressway following the exact route the Homicide police car went during the closing titles. Anyway, all the best. Robert.

    Gee those HD Holdens sure are ugly...

    • @125sloth
      @125sloth 3 года назад +2

      Get the box set. Seriously you won't regret it. If you can afford it get Division 4 as well, or at least the early volumes as there are more outside segments in those, before the color episodes.Yes the HD was ugly. My father had one when brand new. They remind me of a steam engine with the "shielded sides at the front. Actually the old man had an HK Kingswood company car later and they were not that great looking either, but way better than the ugly HD's were.

      @@o8thman812 Crawfords are quick with postage that's for sure. Australia Post are the ones that hold it up. Yes they had sponsorship from Chrysler on last seasons of Divvy 4, and Valiants were supplied as you say for last 2 seasons. Just as GMH got free advertising in the earlier series with Holden. But as for Matlock Police with the stupid 161 6 cylinder Monaro, in which the original one had a 3 speed column change. Basic model. Great way for GMH to promote Monaro's at the time. Not!!And so far fetched because the Vic police never had marked Monaro's of any sort, in fact they only had one unmarked battered looking one in the drug squad from memory, never as general duties or traffic as in good old Matlock Police.

    One thing about Spencer St ,,more than any other STATION right up until 89 90 wander around go walk up top look down ,it really didn't change from when I was a kid ,I wouldn't K ow after 90 that was last time went good sniff around place decent size place ,well I know when all diggers went off to all the wars from Spencer St ,most people havnt got time go walking right around place ,go were got get to ,glad made it on time ,yeah I had good couple hour look around every nook cranny of place , trying every door handle,see find something like found above Flinders with that great big huge ball room ,to much mention blow ya mind ,pretty sure they had story on that ball room above Flinders say be old fottage been derilict since think before world war 2,anyone in to Melbourne railways history if ya havnt seen those couple levels above Flinders ,scale off it ,worth trying to get old photos up , massive dining hall ,runs full block , amazing they never made it into shopping strip ,think just been totally forgotten about ,all young bucks working in administration would not even know it exists ,which probably good thing ,

      It will always be Spencer Street to me. Having worked for the old Victorian Railways back in the 70's on interstate and intrastate trains out of Spencer Street, I was very disappointed when they "built" Southern Cross". I am not against progress and realise they needed to do something to accommodate the increase in regional trains, however the architect of the new establishment must have had his head up his "proverbial". What we have today is an ugly and also not very user friendly revamp. A lot more thought could have been put into it. In the UK and Europe, they can revamp and upgrade larger stations and not end up with "eyesores' like Southern Cross. Southern Cross is an embarrassment.

But certainly worse for the toxic crap given off due to poor maintenance of actual locomotives. Many of those give off way more than they are supposed to.

      And also not too good for safety in a crash like today's cars. Except for the "new" Mustang in which you can say goodbye to your life if a rear seat passenger in a crash that is not even at the top of the serious scale. Cars for rich wankers, or those who can afford the lease. Like Audis.
