Three years ago my late husband and I on our return home to Western New York from a 2 months trip, in the course of 2 days, I dipped my feet in Lake Superior , Lake Michigan, the Lake Huron before we stopped for the first day. On the second day,,,we came down lake Huron and across lake Erie to Westfield, NY to stop early so I could get my feet in Lake Erie. I would have done Lake Ontario but we got home Batavia before we got to the Lake. Itwas the last long trip we took together.
Not sure if you visited Ohio but if not, there are some amazing beaches in Cleveland and northeast Ohio along Lake Erie! It’s our home base so if you ever need info, feel free to reach out. My husband Tim and I just began our van life journey 🌊
We didn't get a chance to get to Ohio this time but we'll keep that in mind for the future. Thanks! Do you recommend any specific spots? Congrats on starting van life. How exciting! Are we connected on social media? It's easiest for us to stay connected with others that way.
Just started van life myself full time with my home base being in Cuyahoga Falls. Will need to make my way up north to Cleveland though. Tons to do and now I'm not held down by a house/apartment!
Hi! I live in Westfield and seen you guys. We're 2 minutes from the pier. We seen you on first Friday. So awesome to see our little town on RUclips. Great video!!!!
We really enjoyed spending time in your town and we're glad you saw the video. (We just also posted another earlier today from our time there.) Thanks for watching!
Ugh, I love the Great Lakes! I swear, I have no idea why people would vacation to Florida in the summer, when they could go to any of the Great Lakes with 50X better weather. Great video!
Now wait a minute!!!! 😆 I can get on board with the Great Lakes being pretty great in the summer but Florida is pretty great too. It was actually my favorite time of the year when we lived there. But, if you're not by the beach, I agree. You crazy people who live in the middle of the state!!!
Welcome to my hometown! That was definitely a bald eagle that has been spotted previously. Patterson Library is a beautiful building. I could go on and on about the village and town. Thanks for visiting!
Thank you! We enjoyed our time there (and just posted another video from our visit). It was very cool seeing the eagle, and the swan! And the library was very cool! We go to a lot of libraries and it was one of our favorites. Any other recommendations for the area?
Sorry, we just now saw your comment. For some reason it was in a different area for "blocked words." Huh?! Not sure what words would be questionable! LOL! That's funny about your kitty cat. Our cat used to do the same when she saw other cats around when we still had a stationary house. Apparently now she's not as territorial because she doesn't care anymore - either that or she's too old to care! Thanks for watching!
Hi there. I am Sue K's sister and I've lived in Westfield area for about 11 1/2 years. I wish she'd have told me about you being in the area sooner. I'm glad you got to see how nice our area is. Before you know it those grapes will be ripening and the air will smell wonderful.
@@nancyrobertson2764 Oooh, we'd love to experience that when the grapes are ripening! We enjoyed our time in your area. 🙂 PS: We probably met many years ago. I was a flower girl in Sue's wedding!
Hi, I'm new to the channel. Do you travel full time and telework full time? I'm a "washashore 1989 Cape Codder. And yes, it's an expensive. place to live. Glad you enjoyed the area. West Dennis Beach is a place where pretty much there are kite surfers. It's amazing to watch. You must travel the 6A side of the Cape. Lots of beaches to see on the Bayside. Paines Creek is one of them. On the Bayside of the Cape low tide is very serene. Mayflower Beach at low tide people ride their horses, and at sunset, it's an extra added bonus that makes for gorgeous pictures. Next time you're up in the area explore the 6A historical side of Cape Cod. Enjoy your beautiful life you 2 have. 😊
@@karenschuster9831 Hi Karen! Welcome to the channel! Yes, we travel full time and we're self-employed. We sold our house in Florida in July 2023. We enjoyed our time there. We'll have to mark those spots on the map for the future. Thanks for the recommendations!
I grew up on the Canadian side of Lake Erie. The lake is cleaner now than it was when I was young. Some of the beaches were very rocky, others had great sand. Someday I would like to visit the IS side of the lake.
I've heard the same about Lake Ontario. It's sad how much they have been polluted over the years. We thought the area between Erie and Buffalo is really beautiful and lots of cute towns and local parks along the water!
I live in Erie . In the video when you said you were leaving Erie that was Northeast , they have a Welchs plant there and there is the one you went by in Westfield and another one in Brockton .
Funny how growing up in NY, I didn't know there was a grape belt in that area. I only knew the Finger Lakes had a lot of vineyards and wineries. It's been really great exploring more of my home state and also Pennsylvania (where we also lived for many years).
Hi, Erie is my home and what a beautiful place. Audra you said Presque Isle correctly, around here we call it the Peninsula. There are a ton of free things to do around here so next time stay a bit longer and really get to know what Erie is all about. ❤
I'm glad I said it correctly! We've learned we can definitely not trust the pronunciation in Google Maps! 🤣 We stopped in Erie last summer too (ruclips.net/video/KPXy_zGFXY0/видео.htmlsi=2QXUDlOTItp9F-fv) but we never seem to have enough time in any place no matter how many times we visit. Any recommendations for next time?
@SteveAudra Try and make it up for the 3rd weekend in August. We have Celebrate Erie with lots to see and eat & Concerts all weekend long on the main stage. It's always a good time.
Great start but you missed so much. Did you see the Abraham Lincoln and Grace Bedell Statue? There is also the McClurg Museum/Chautauqua County Historical Society building in the park across from the library. The event you saw/filmed is not nearly as big as the Farmers/artisans market. Which by the way is rated as the best one in NY State. I will be back through latter in the month. I am currently in Newport RI as we wander the area.
We never seem to have enough time to fully explore the areas were in! But we certainly enjoyed what we did see. Thanks for sharing those other things. We'll keep that in mind in case we're ever through the area again!
