The Butcher and Thought left earth on this track. Too many quotables. Easily one of best verses i’ve heard from Benny and we know what Black Thought does.
That’s probably THEE best verse from Benny. This made Benny my favorite current rapper. I realized he wasn’t just a hustler trying to make a dollar off rap. He takes the craft serious and is nice.
International Jones, dudes probably did not catch that lyric. However, it was railroaded through thicker thing for gold chains and chicken change. I already know you can interpret the rest
@@antman0719 do you have a list of good DOOM songs with production value? Every song I hear he's like too quite and the beat is just noise, little shallow of me but it's hard to really get into.
Anytime someone has Black Thought on a track and doesn't get blown away, I start checking for them. I've been checking him out here and there. Now Benny the Butcher is officially on the watch list.
@@holygrail1038 Replace Lupe with DOOM & Jay with 3 Stacks and I love Elzhi dude is a beast and an absolute underrated gem, but top idk, u could replace him with Ghostface Killah or anyone of Wu if u ask me, Phife Dawg too deserves to be mentioned more!
Raymond no offense but you have no idea what lyricism is if you think kendrick is a better lyricist than any of the people I mentioned. Kendrick is possibly the best artist to come out of the newschool, but he is FAR from the best lyricist. Anyone from king los to elzhi to locksmith to black thought to lupe would all eat him alive lyrically. Kendrick is known for his great concepts, bodies of work, production, good storytelling etc, hes not known for crazy metaphors, punchlines, rhyme schemes, references AT ALL. Cmon man learn to categorize things.
IMO no other MC has improved as much as Black Thought. He began as a beast and transcended to a God MC. Seems like the other golden era rappers got complacent and Thought remained hungry. He's the best now.
“The money generated from me leaving microphones broke" 💀 Black 🐐 Thought Man you've been leaving microphones broke for years. Real hip hop heads knows that to be a fact!
I happened to stumble upon this video during the usual rabbit down the hole transport of YT videos, and I have to say that I am beyond impressed with how the two of you break down the anatomy of bars on different gems from our favorite hip-hop historians, legends and legends in the making. This one in particular really caught my ear and eyes as I'm from Buffalo, NY myself, where Benny, Westside Gunn, Conway (and Daringer) started from. The fact that Benny held his own and shined with Tariq was a milestone within itself, and since this album, its amazing to see just where these men are becoming triumphant and breaking shit left and right. It's sadly also bittersweet, as the production from DJ Shay will always be within memoriam. Unfortunately, the pandemic that we all are currently facing took him from all of us a few months ago. But for him to also be mentioned, truly showed me in a few minutes just how much you two gentlemen appreciate hip-hop as a whole. You fellahs earned a subscriber immediately. Much love from Buffalo, Jugalar Starr.
AMAZING SONG THE BUTCHER COMING NINJAH!!! DOPE REVIEW !!!!! FAN OF YALL FROM SOUTH AFRICA THE WAY YALL BREAK THE LYRICS IS AMAZING KEEP IT UP IM LOST IN AFRICA
Oh yeah, let's goooo!!! I clicked this in a heartbeat!! Love your reactions! Can you guys do a review on the upcoming project from Nas, Lost Tapes II? Coming out June 19
The line where Thought says, "The real Clarence Avants remain lesser known" refers to Clarence Avant, who is known in black entertainment as the Black Godfather. There is a dope Netflix documentary about him.
Finally, Benny the Butcher!!!!!!! You gotta do the whole squad! The Pusha T verse on this project was ill as hell too! Best reaction videos on the Tube!!!
He actually says Clarence Avant, not clairvoyant savant, he was the black godfather who wasn't really known as such, he was behind the scenes of alot of things.
“The good die young, all the OG’s are 30 and up...” Meaning that your innocence has left you, or you’ve have seen things at the cost of your innocence. But you’re right, it happens so young now. If you’ve lived to be over 30, you’ve likely seen and/or done some things to survive. Mainly because many in the older generations, for whatever reasons, prison, drugs, lack of self-awareness, apathy, selfishness, shame, etc., can’t or won’t provide the examples anymore. Like that saying “you either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.”
“Real Clarence Avant’s remain lesser known” is the line, not Clairvoyant Savant. Clarence Avant is a dude who was behind a lot of huge artists success between the 50’s to today. His documentary is on Netflix. Great watch, styled similar to the Quincy Jones documentary.
