Put THAT rock in your pocket...I can't anymore as I am handicapped, both legs above the knee amputation, got blown up doing broadcast engineering, for forty plus years enjoyed your trip today. Thank you, . Blessings CLIff
I remember my first impression of Northern Arizona was the diversity of the landscapes and how fast it would change. For people that have never been to the area it's hard to imagine just how small of an area these videos have covered. Remember the hills covered with cactus on the way to the mine? 10 miles to Hualapai mountain as the crow flies. Davis dam on the Colorado river? 40 miles. It is truly a wonderous area of the country and I thank you for bringing to us.
As a young man of 21 years old right out of the Navy 50 years ago I worked as a laborer for 2 carpenters that in 1966 were building summer cabins around that area. I had board and room at the resort main motel and later up on the hill in trade for taking care of horses daily and guiding trail rides on the weekends. I visited there in 2019. Understandably lots of changes. Horses and stable gone, motel still there etc.
Old Kingman I grew up there , my daughter is still living there , thank you for these videos, with me being in Ohio now for the last 22 years I'm really missing Arizona and your northern Arizona videos bring me home and tears fill my eyes so thank you
I grew up in Bullhead city... Went to school in Kingman ... Many happy memories looking at yout films of lk mohave (katherine landing ) willow beach ... Etc . Thank you .
Every time I've ever been to Kingman I've never thought of a park like this this park is awesome it's only 15 miles away who would have thought you learn something new everyday on rvers TV
Wow! The puffy white clouds pasted across the blue of the sky is breath-taking. The sharp edges of the road that have been hewn out of the rock is so distinct. What wonderful glimpses of the old buildings and how one gets such a sense of the time past. The mountains and greenery are just so stunning. As we remain shut in, We thank you for taking us out with your gorgeous videos and detailed descriptions. Thank you so much! Just MARVELOUS! And another AWH!!!!!! AMAZING!!!!!!!! Job!!!!!!!!
One thing i cant get use to is no RIVERS or creeks to camp beside. Camped in Sedona , mvp ( john ford pt ) which was 1 nightmare but , that. Was 30 yrs ago. Thanks Russ your videos showed me some places .
I am shocked that you did not see any elk or deer, they are usually very plentiful up there. Hualapai Peak, is 8,417 feet, and it is highest point in Mohave County. Thank you, for sharing the nice drive.
@@cynthiaj.1413 you can drive to them. They are pretty friendly. I saw them right at the park near the visitors center. Close enough for photos. Just roam a bit up there and you will see them.
I don't know if you ever read or reply to comments, but Kingman has a lot of good memories for me. If you go back , go out to the the old air force base out by the airport. A couple of old hanger from back in world war 2..
We just did part of your route from 66 to Kingman and proceeded to Fort Beale. The weather was absolutely at beautiful 74 degrees today. Thank you for everything that you share with us 👍
I would like to say Thank You from all of us shut-ins. It really is a breath of fresh air to see the Blue Sky and puffy clouds imagining we there (really good on my daughter's big screen tv) .
Thanks for doing this one! I have driven past the exit to Hualapai Park many times, every time saying next trip we are going to see what's there. Now I know. Thanks again!
What a beautiful spot! Thanks for driving! So green there. Residents seem eager to enjoy the park! We need our Summer retreats to relax. Love the pine trees!
There was a family bench donated in there said 55 years of family & first names, a generation of kids who may have grown up in that park, must be nice memories.
Oh Rver - you are making me homesick - lol ~ My Dad, "Bill" lives up there in Kingman and I always make him take me to the Hualapai Lodge for dinner and the live bands on the weekends
You were very close to the Hualapai Mountain Lodge. They used to have a good breakfast buffet up there that I liked. 4:40 - On the left is the Hill Top Motel. The Oklahoma City bomber stayed there on his way to Oklahoma City just before he blew up the Federal building.
This brings back the memories! I lived in Oatman in the 90s, and used to come up here to get out of the heat. My birthday is in July, and used to rent a cabin sometimes as a nice present! There's one hell of a view from the top of Hualapai Peak, if you can make the hike up to the top.
For a second I thought that bench at 30:40 had the word, "CORONAVIRUS" carved in it. Now back to the Boriana Mine to look for the guy with the road grader! Thanks for the traveling, Russ.
Hi fellow river! ☺ you probably won't see this because it was a year ago but you came across my feed and the title caught my eye . I just m9ved to dolan springs and I love it here. I am on a five acre lot in the dust bowl across from the chevron... no one told me about the constant winds but there you have it. I love the quiet and the stars at night! Makes it all worth it. I work all day on the land and I feel so great at the end of the day. Anyway, sorry for Ramblin 🙂 thanks for the look at halipi was wondering and now I know lol definitely subbed
It’s best if you take either of the Andy Devine or Beale Exits. The exit you took takes you past our sewers and jail. And that road is awful. As far as RV Parks KOA on Roosevelt or Settlin inn out in Golden Valley right before you go down the hill to Bullhead City. The other RV parks aren’t kept very well.
Awesome video! I'm moving to wikieup, AZ later this year and my Uncle preaches about this place. Heck, the views of the Hualapai's at sunset is absolutely gorgeous. Cant wait to explore this campground when i move down there. They have pictures of elk coming right up to them in the campground as well. Anyways, great vid and have a good day!
Actually the old pine lake was a watering reservoir for the cattle company up there they call it a lake it’s not really a lake it’s more of a stock pond are used to swim in it when I was a kid and that place you turned around that was the Hualapai Mountain Lodge good food nice little bar

Really good video. That sure is a beautiful park and area. Surprised that's a county park. Imagine it fills up fast normally. Thanks for letting us ride along with you. Be safe. 😊👍

I got a chance to drive Route 66. It had always been a dream of mine. It was the best drive of my life. I couldn't believe it.
Kingman Arizona where my husband bought my wedding ring before we went to Las Vegas

Nothing better then the Southwest USA. Going through that area means I’m almost home. Home to northern New Mexico.
Visited the Route 66 museum. Nice place to learn about history.

Thank You Russ for taking us on the adventures all over with you...!!
They were named after the Hualapai Indian tribe that used to be a sacred place for them
We were just out there two weeks ago! I wish we were there! Followed 66 from Ft Mohave/Bullhead City to Albuquerque! ❤️❤️❤️
That was really cool! Beautiful area! I'll have to check that out next time I'm in Kingman. Thanks for sharing it with us Russ!

I'm a Mohave County landowner from the midwest. I've been to Kingman and saw my land in Golden Valley in 2012. Thanks for showing me around the area.

Another great video. We used to go to the Hualapais just for the day to cool off from Havasu
Right there around @3:22 on your left where old Route 66 meets Beale Street is a small but very interesting museum.
That Hualipi County Park area is amazing! Thanks Russ!!

Russ your videos are some of the clearest I have seen. You and your equipment are excellent.
