The internet killed it. I'm 20 minutes from Tijuana. Baja was our playland. So many uncrowded breaks(far from Winki). Surf movies and mags had an impact but nothing like the www. Sitting around a campfire down there chugging some beers and a few shots and lips would loosen up and tales of waves seeped out. Old trucks that broke down some time,getting stuck,getting skunked it was all part of the game. Now its keyboard blabbers,gps,designer rigs and kids. We had it good. That footage of Winki was killing me. You guys have so much high quality surf.
WOW! when this place is on, its a freight train! You can see some dood's are barely hanging in there to make the wave. I wish I was younger and get here to surf this place just one time.... O well back to Sano with my 8' Bettis!
Great footage and editing. It gives you a good feeling of what the swells were doing. Personally, we would have minimized the slow mo. Still great video all the same!

Yup, I lived that life too for 6 months in 1997. I spent a semester abroad, studying at Deakin. Lead me to the life I live today in Honolulu.
