This piece was composed by Pak Dadang back in 2009’s Radio Televisyen Brunei (RTB) Awards as a traditional orchestral piece at the beginning, during that time with live instruments and dancers. The main feature of this particular song that it showcases an array of traditional instruments used in Brunei Darussalam such as the 'Gulintangan', 'Sape' and 'Gendang Labik'. One of the Malay Brunei gulintangan rhythmic songs which is known as 'Gabongkok' is used as a inspiration for the overture and is played traditionally with its original melody and accompanied by the percussive section by Gendang Labik and eventually ends with a colourful unison. By identifying the time signature from 4/4 to 6/8, this overture can also be described as to show a few glimpses of transitional variations and dynamics of traditional Brunei instruments that can be heard as an applicable piece of musical expression.

Special thanks to the host of the event and also Dadang Supriatna for his mentorship throughout those intensive weeks, and to all these super talented members of Rhythm of Darussalam.
Rhythm of Darussalam (ROD) is an independant traditional music group that gathers the young generation of Brunei Darussalam who are very keen to explore and improve their skills and knowledge, more importantly in Brunei Traditional Music i.e. local ethnic and culture of music and local instruments. All of them came from different backgrounds and ethnic groups of Brunei - for some may have formal education in music whilst others may inherit the legacy from their parents and elders. Altogether, they have learned and are still learning to experiment and further hone their skills in both traditional and modern variety of music by producing all new refreshing compositions to be heard not just inside the country, but also to the worldwide nation which is also part of promoting the importance of Brunei's cultural identity and sheer awareness of conserving old traditions and simultaneously creating a traversable interface to our new generation of all walks of life that those past traditions are still being preserved well.
