Hi, Henry. Can I say a huge 'thank you' for your wonderful vlogs. I started on my own journey into photography a couple of years ago and I'm absolutely loving it. I hit a bit of a mental health issue a few months ago and was struggling. However your vlogs have been incredibly therapeutic for me; your passion, wisdom and just plain humble humanity, has really benefitted my mindset. I just wanted to let you know how valuable, in many ways, your vlogs are to me and many others. Many, many thanks, Henry.
If I may suggest, THAT'S what photography is really all about -- the way the process of doing it can enhance your life. It isn't about the gear, or even the results. (That's the hardest thing for me to accept -- on days when I come home with no 'good' images, I still had the experience of being out, even if none of my images really represent my experiences!)
There's my smile in the room you cannot see as I write this. Words pale to the beauty you create. I will say less, but I am stunned and gratified to see all of this, all this, around you. Young man, you are worthy, we are blessed. Gosh.
Since you brought it up, I wanted to add my voice to those telling you to keep talking. Videos like this in particular, where you're bouncing all over the locale looking for your shot, and just talking about how you're second guessing yourself are immediately relatable to a lot of us, and they're deeply reassuring. Your photos are wonderful, and a great source for ideas about what sorts of subjects work, but you're not really teaching composition or anything. YOU are the subject of your videos, not your photos. YOU are why we're watching.
Great work Henry!!! I really love this images!! I appreciate your energy and enthusiasm in your videos. I suffer from depression and you always lift my spirit. Never lose that.
Yes, the video was all over the place...like just about every landscape photo shoot I've ever had. Mother nature always seems to have "other" plans, LOL. Way to keep it real, excellent video sir.
Wait and you shall receive… ;) Patience is a VIRTUE sir… it was shit at first but you know that. You have a way of making me feel like I’m right there with you in the elements. Thank you. Never say “ I hate…” because, if you just wait a minute everything changes. Happy it worked out so well for you. Cheers - Jeff :) :) :)
By all means don't think you're talking too much! I imagine a lot of us are here to understand your thought process for your compositions and such. As always, thanks for bringing us along!
Absolutely stunning images, Henry. For a moment I thought I had opened a Simon Baxter video. In my view these images are certainly on a par with his work.
The image with the sunrays shooting in from the right side, is my favourite - Rays of light are the most spectacular addition within Woodland Photigraphy
You summed up the frustrations of a woodland photographer perfectly. There is nothing more frustrating than having a plan for the forecasted conditions only for it all to fail. Then drive off only to see mist and fog covering the woods in the far distance. But perseverance does sometimes pay off. 🍂🍂🌳🌳😂😂😂
I love your chatter every bit as much as I LOVE your images, even those you say you don't think are all that great (this lot is amazing!). I can always count on you for a giggle.
Omg I was so worried when you were headless chickening it at the beginning! 🙈 So wonderful to see how the morning progressed though, and what fabulous images ❤️
I feel the uncertainty, Henry. I spent an afternoon last weekend chasing the light rather than having the confidence to stop and wait for nature to do it’s thing.
Goodness gracious Henry. Those images are stunning and should be a reminder that the right conditions, perseverance and patience prevails. Please DO NOT stop talking:)
We love your videos Henry! Wow absolutely stunning shots As always! Food for the soul I love trees 🌲 beautifully captured Gorgeous!!! Thank you so much for sharing everything you are lovely! 🤗😘🥰
Don’t you just love it when you’re there at the right time. Lovely conditions and for me at least a couple of portfolio/calendar shots in there. Nice work Henry 👍👍
Henry, these woodland images you presented today are exceptional and truly ethereal. The value of patience, persistance, and skill make these woodland images some of the best I've seen.
Marvelous images. I love watching your videos. I am typically on the edge of my chair, enthusiastically waiting for your level of excitement to peak. It really shows how much you enjoy photography. By the way, keep babbling, love it. Cheers,
I wish i could get excited about my photography henry, I do love watching your VLogs but as soon as i get time to go out its like shooting the same thing for 20+ years & there's a million photographers battling with each other to get that best shot in the right conditions, then there's all the mobile phone photographers out there that add to the thousands of all ready photographers !
I had this exact dilemma yesterday! Amazing fog everywhere, stuck to my guns, climbed to where I knew my comp was and boom, nothing. Hung around for a good while and not much came back. Off I went to another location and it was the thickest fog I've been in for a long time. So sticking to your guns doesn't always work either 🤣 ahhh the photography game...how we love it!
Absolutely gorgeous images Henry! Positively fabulous. I loved watching you run around babbling like a madman. That's why I enjoy your videos. Your energy and enthusiasm just leap off the screen and it's very inspiring as well. Really one of your best efforts. You've quickly become my favorite RUclips photo channel. Killer photography and great entertainment. As Nigel Danson would say, "It just doesn't get any better than this".
Well young Henry what can I say? I was hoping it was going to be a good one when I noticed it was 27 minutes! I wasn't disappointed. What a life. By gum lad you got everything in this one. Beautiful, exceptional light & well thought out composition. Superb video lad. Thanks Henry
Well. Just watched this and don't know where to start. Felt absolutely knackered following "Henry the fog chaser" even though sat at home in front of fire, then it all kicked off big style. The first shot with sun shining through was stunning, then you produced another belter, then another two which I thought were "even better", then guess what? you produced that last shot which definitely deserved a Klinsman slide (you are going to have to explain that one to your Canadian followers.) 😀. Absolute class photos Henry and a great day out with you yet again, will be watching this one over again many times. You inspired me to get out into woodland last week and will be out again next week. Quality!!
Henry, you have given me NEW EYES for landscapes. Thanks so much for showing all of us what our camera can see with the right light, careful composition, and NEW EYES.
Greetings from Coshocton, Ohio - U.S.A.. Great crop of photos in todays video. Looks like you really embraced your conditions. Keep up the good work Henry!
Hi Henry, how's it going loon?I notice at the end of your vids you say"thank you for watching, it's greatly appreciated"well I can tell you that i"greatly appreciate"you sharing your vids with us. Your knowledge and enthusiasm are infectious in equal amounts and as for the blabbering, long may it continue mate. I was wondering if at some point you could show us an in camera photo and the same photo after you've processed it, just to see your final work flow kinda thing. Thanks Henry👍😎
Great, great vlog Henry! Your enthusiasm and excitement is jumping out of my screen and slapping me in the face! What a morning!! Keep up the good work and never think we get tired of hearing you talk. Cheers mate!
Henry, what a terrific Vlog and such amazing images - amongst your best. God rewarded your patience and enthusiasm with His best conditions. Thanks for your inspiring work.
A single thumbs up doesn’t quite feel sufficient for this video. I really enjoyed your enthusiasm as the morning went on and the shots you got were absolutely gorgeous. This is a video that I saved for when I need a boost in hope. We’ll done sir!
Thanks again Henry for sharing your experience...fog looks like smoke in the bush fire season in Australia.... great pics from a magic location...yes it is great to just get out & enjoy whatever nature offers & capture photos.... cheers from Australia 😀😀
SHOT. OF THE MORNING, I n my opinion, was the right-angled tree pic; amazing view to a rectangle of wooded fog, like it was some kind of portal to another world. Amazing, Henry! The thought the first 'rays of light' pic was super excellent too. They were all good, in fact.
Stunning images Henry, well done. Don't you change a thing about your presentation. As many have said before me your communication, humanity and humbleness make your videos different from many other channels. Keep up the great work.
Great video Henry. I'm glad that all the running around fog chasing finally paid off where you wanted to be in the first place. You captured some fantastic image's.
🇨🇦/🇺🇸... Whenever I see woodland photos, yours, Simon Baxters... whomever... It makes me think of Christopher Robin Milne's book, The Path Through the Trees. Odd that. *shrugs*
Thanks Henry for another great video. What an amazing outing and wonderful conditions. The images were some of your best woodland photos and absolutely gorgeous. The fog was such a gift to make them even more beautiful. Your attitude of gratitude that you get to do this is always so refreshing. Your videos are always a highlight of the week.
Always stick to your guns buddy, it’s paid of for me countless times before! Even shooting the same scene from blue hour - golden hour, I’ve made a habit of sticking incase conditions get better 😂 probably missed countless shots before, but if I get that ONE shot I’ve planned and prepared for I’m a very happy man for a long time!!! Keep it up buddy, these videos are incredible and always so inspiring 🙏🏼
I've been unwell for the past 4 weeks so missed a lot of your videos Henry it's wonderful catching up such a beautiful video with stunning captures, your such a tonic thanks Henry 👍
