    This is gonna be far fetched but... what if the castle was just the ruined walls of a castle half submerged in hills, and there was an ongoing archaeological dig inside it to expose the walls and uncover buried artefacts and skeletons? You could have a grid of square digs with walls of dirt left intact, showing different coloured layers, and a tent for the sorting.

      I feel like the only upside to a ruin would be, that he might build a medieval moc in the future, for which an intact castle would be better (medieval and pirates are 2 themes he talked about before after the moon base and Western)

  • @jugatsumikka
    @jugatsumikka 9 месяцев назад +285

    For the village, how about building a medieval castle with a medieval fair to both create storytelling and explain why there would be medieval characters in a modern setting?
    Also, for the upper plaza, how about street artists doing an animation with spectators all around?

    • @frendamikoto
      @frendamikoto 9 месяцев назад +56

      that also means that the advertising column could have one for the fair tying everything together even better

    • @hexakon475
      @hexakon475 9 месяцев назад +20

      Totally agree on this. It would be great having the Castle at the back after the church, possibly part in ruins, you could also have the rear towers a little smaller in scale to tie in with the forced perspective. For the house you moved, I would move it another base plate to the left this could give you a great area for the medieval fair, perhaps even a school trip of kids at the fair and near the train station for part of the storytelling.
      If possible I would also suggest adding in a river valley scene straight after the village and castle, even with a few rapids, and elevation changes, think the "Aysgarth Falls". Have the river flow from the back left next to the castle, lowering the baseboard height as it moves to the the front and then turns towards the harbour scene. You could then add in a rail viaduct across the valley, a motorised water mill to fit in with the village, and an extra building or 2 with small farm fields and a gentle hill in front of the tracks down to the river. This would help to break up the "flat" section of countryside and be a bit more realistic, while also tying it into the city and harbour section

Dunno how much space you'd allocate for it, but given your attention to detail and your ability to integrate different textures and colors so well in other buildings, I'd love to see what you could do. Lots of fun opportunities for storytelling too- you could have historians giving lectures about the past of the area, living history characters interacting with guests, some archaeological and conservation projects going on allowing for some more ruined sections to contrast with the better preserved/restored areas, there's a lot of fun stuff to experiment with that. Love all the work you've done, it looks great.
    I think a castle could be fun. You could make some of the castle ruined, then have a bunch of construction scenes scattered throughout as if the town were renovating it.
    And in the unruined section, you could add tourists or something.

    I'm digging the idea of a big castle, but having a functional, lived-in castle next to a modern city might look a bit anachronistic. You could maybe try to make the ruins of a castle, partly reclaimed by nature, with some tourists in it. Or maybe an archaeological site.

    Maybe add a little bit of colours to the vegetation behind the church ? It’s hard to see the difference between the trees and plants. I real loved the white flowers

    Loving the raised church. part plus your brother is doing great with the lights too. The streets at night look really atmospheric. The basketball court is in the perfect place next to the bridge, which also looks better with the suspension type detail rather than how it was before. The build is coming along in leaps and bounds and every little edition just makes it more and more impressive. Maybe you could build a theatre and then advertise the plays on the circular advertising stand. Maybe the Lego Phantom of the Opera. Keep up the great work and I look forward to seeing the next instalment soon.

    Looks great! I love the half timbered village. I think there should be a path/walkway to the church though, unless it’s abandoned in which case there should be more plants growing up the walls. I’d love to see a castle too, that would be really cool

    As for the Church, I think you should add a wider path, just like the tiling you have in the rest of the village. You could also add some sheep and cows around the church, scattered on the hills.
    Love your updates 😊

    Amazing progress and awesome build as always. I think it would be cool too if you add a bit more animals in the whole build to add some extra story telling in blank places like mountains or under trees. Like maybe more deer and maybe some bears. I know that Lego animal figures are expensive but this is just my idea.

    Castle idea... it could be a castle ruins, but also decorated for a local wedding, especially if it's near the church. Lighting the church from inside (and multi-colored clear bricks like stained glass) would be gorgeous. For advertising, consider ads for the (illegal) factory and other places that are actually IN the city or for the small village as a vacation spot. Ski slopes would be cool somewhere too... if you ever built a WINTER village.

    Looks amazing! I think adding those special light fixtures to light up the bridge would look amazing and sleek as well. You could add the lighting on the sides, or implement transparent yellow/white tiles spread across the middle of the road as road markers and have the light underneath the transparent tile, and have the lights light up at night as lighted road line markers! (You don’t have to restrict this to just the bridge, it could fit well as a flashing runway markers, or much more!)

    Hey I love your channel, you are so talented AND ITS ALSO SO THERAPEUTIC. Your brother is amazing! I think you should add a commercial for touristic attractions, promoting A tour company, because there’s a lot of those in Europe. It would be so cool if you could put some of your (American/foreign) minfigures being toured around the city on some of the more iconic landmarks. (It would also add some history). (You should also add more hotels.) your the best!!!!! 😊😅😮

    For the advertisement columns, I think a cool design would be for like, local events, y'know? How people just plaster their posters over top of the old posters, and over time you get layers and layers of old posters. Could add a lot of color variety and you could design each poster with a different theme, both underneath as well as over top of the old posters (punk rock shows, orchestras, lost animals, etc).

    I put together some of my favorite suggestions from others and some of my own! Everyone feel free to add more! (Trying to credit people where I can. Had this list going for a while before I posted) Cheers!
    For the Harbor/Bay Area:
    - Hanging shark/fish rack
    - Lobster pots
    - Rope/Cord to compliment the chains
    - Starfish
    - Boat Oars as decoration
    - Dry dock/ half built ship
    - Shipping / Fishing Museum
    For anywhere needing some more contrast / depth:
    - Clothes racks / clothes lines between buildings
    - Tree Stumps
    - Rooftop gardens/plants
    - Traffic Cones
    - More Colored Flowers on the Tree Leaves
    - More little critters
    For the main city/new bridge:
    - Bike Mechanic
    - Same Wanted posters from the Wild West MOC
    - Small Botanical Garden
    - Dumpster Fire
    - A mini recreation of your lego museum
    - Homeless people warming their hands from fires in a barrel under the bridge @MSkov89
    - Shady shop @plushiie_
    Other Areas:
    - Motorized Draw Bridge
    - Ski/Snowboard shop / resort
    - Archeology / Ruins
    - Small Quarry or Logging / Saw Mill
    - Camping Site and tents
    - Big Farm/Fields (Corn, Carrots, Sunflowers, Wheat, Animal Stalls)
    - Space Station (With a story that connects to the moon base)(Honestly want to see what cool automation/lighting you and your brother would be able to come up with)

    3:32 "everything is blocky an mindcrafty" or dare I say LEGO-y 😁 Are there any roads in your village, and even a path that leads to the entrance of the church? And possibly a cemetary? Not to make it creepy, just part of life. The lush field of flowers looks great, but since you pay so much attention to detail and realism, litteral world building...

    Gives inspiration for another building as well, but an advertisement for some kind of oil change or something related to vehicles, but it has “Get Your Studs Oiled” plastered across the front of an engine graphic, the businesses name could be included somewhere as well

  • @samuelmelendez4039
    @samuelmelendez4039 9 месяцев назад

    The church definitely needs a path for people to go in it. Maybe some ramps or stairs since it’s in a hill. A good suggestion that would be great for the city would be to add a park or a plaza to the town. Preferably the center of town but that depends. Another thing that would be a good idea is to add a boulevard with shops for pedestrians to enhance the urban footprint.
