Amazing video, this is great general advice - especially the last two. I think the channel can really be something unique in the military-tuber space if you lean into that general military/life advice with a Special Forces flavor.
I work at the VA and one thing I say is always documented your injuries while your in and make copies of everything! You will regret it later on if you don't
I'm about to graduate college and I've spent the last 3 years training to take a 18x contract. I've done my research and prep, but recently I'm reconsidering the fact that maybe I don't want to enlist and not use my degree when there isn't an active conflict going on. I'm considering ocs but at the same time I don't want to regret not taking the 18x because I might never get another shot at it. It's just a constant battle in my head.
You are not the only one brother..I’m literally in my car with the same thoughts, whether to go get my masters and enroll back in Rotc 2 yr program and hope I get picked up for Sf but I’ll be 34/35 by then, or fuking send it right now as 18x at 29 and turn 30 on basic…I just prayed and came across both your messages
Dawg, there is literally about to be conflict. 18x is a 2 year long pipeline. If you think shit ain’t gonna pop off you’re wrong, go ahead and join the army, I love it, fight is coming
18x all day. I got out of the military, graduated college, and there's no better place to be in life than in the JSOC community. That experience will trump any degree out there and quite honestly any experience in life. Your degree will never fade away, but the chance to potentially wear a green beret will fade away.
About speaking up, my recon leader in Vietnam was an E7 on his 3rd tour in Vietnam and had a tour in Laos too. But besides mentoring me he listened to me too. Probably saved my team once. Speak up
Can you do a video on the difference between modern Green Berets vs. Vietnam era Green Berets. Was the mindset and training drastically different? Also as a Green Beret are you taught how to teach as opposed to other units like SEALs who will be given the mission to teach foreign units but it's really not in their wheelhouse.
You don’t need to be shot at or take stupid risks to leave your mamas embrace. Young men are desperate to get through a right of passage. It’s in our DNA. SF, the military in general, offers what some may believe is the sacred human right of passage. If you want the right to join the hunters, if you want to become a man, there are other ways. Start a family and be a good provider. Skydive. Do something that scares you and overcome those fears. Combat can be a right of passage but it can also be your end…. And for what?
I'm not military, but I was grateful to work with a retired 3rd group member working executive protection with. He taught me similar things that kept me along in the game, while I knew others who didnt listen who were fired or left in a body bag.
Is the indef process the same for sf? in big army when enlisted reaches 10 years they either get out or ride till 20. Is it the same for SF? Do you have to be an operator for a X amount of time?
My entire being wants to sign up to learn how to be a great warrior. Trying to look past all this trash shit America has done is doing. Hearing people talk about how fucked up the army situation is with how the government is trying to push certain things etc. I’m so stuck with this I don’t know what to do.
Listen to your calling. Otherwise, your spirit will be restless. Do not prioritize the external events, which will pass and change over time. Worst case scenario, the military isn't what you hoped for, and you get out with benefits and life lessons and experiences. Just my opinion.
You know dam well it was worth it. It sucks not having it around I joined the navy at 20 and I just turned 55 omg I think it just hit me .anyway 86 and got outbin92 Finished college.went to Bosnia for 2 yrs I fought for 4 sides of that one came home and got married.but I was hooked. Went to Africa for a Civil War ended up on the losing side then jail and in 2004 I worked for a pmc in Iraq came home again and she was gone.i gave up the married life for war. The I wanted to bebin combat and wanted to go out in style.went to Afghanistan same pmc then in 2010 I ran into some marines and 1 was the son of a good friend. Started feeling old. 2015 started anti piracy hunting 2021 I got hurt met a nurse. The other day I woke up and realized I'm alone and will be alone. I tried to get killed while I was in. Got hurt here and their.but no good situations came up. Now I wanna get married and have someone to finish life with I really hope I. Can this story was hurried but you get the idea.

People mature differently. New or not.

Nah, there’s not gonna be any conflict any time soon. Not for America anyways.
One of your best videos yet, thank you.
Thank you
You should do a podcast that highlights the differences between Marine Raiders and Red Raiders (Texas Tech graduates).

In Ukraine they're doing it . Looking for it or not!
Always remember your enemy gets a vote to in combat so no matter what your role is in US Army. Just remember wolves hunt other wolves too.
Shipping out for 18x in a couple weeks. Your videos have helped me tremendously throughout the process. Thank you!
You got this!

Document your shit. 100%.
Then talk to Peir Kahn about it. He does these moves on me now listen, he is a very very strong man.
I was already a seal so I kinda get that
Hooah
40 years in construction, weird parallels with the advice you've given.
