Thanks bud, glad the effect paid off. It certainly needed something to perk it up and it’s an easy solution for simple minis like this. Looking forward to the next one.
@@BrushWoodMinis I've got a question for you if I may, have you never seen/held a Stormcast Eternal? I'd like to get one for my HQ set as a Statue. Would he be too big?
Well as Statues can be any size I’d say this would be fine. As it is I have painted one for my local GW once, think there’s a vid of it on here. I basically did a Dark Angel scheme on it. They’d work brilliantly as statues for this I reckon.
Thanks man, it’s just a simple OSL method really. I find a little glazing or something to add a bit of interest helps when you’ve got a neutral/bland colour scheme.
Lovely. Like this more than most. I have HQ and all expansions, for Xmas, all unpainted. No paint stuff, that was years ago. I might use some of this for my GG. The rest of it will be NOT grimdark (EVERYONE does grimdark for HQ... but the original game is Retro era Games Workshop not Grimdar current Games Workshop). This is a board game, not a high def diarama. Colours IMO should be bright. Toy like. I'm going for a Masters of the Universe vibe. Someone did a gaudy purple/green door (one of 4 doors in different styles) looking to a MotU aesthetic. It was glorious. Each to their own of course.
How about if you paint those cracks on the wings and on the muscles with fire/flame colors to give expression that there is some kind of hellish fire inside the gargoyle?
You could absolutely do this and it would look awesome. This was a very simple guide, made with my clients permission and painted to his requirements. If you go for the fire effect then please throw a pic up on my socials, I’d love to see that 😊
@@BrushWoodMinis I will definetly send some pictures. I just bought the game and I'm gathering ideas and list for the paints so it will take few weeks to month for this project to complete. I was here to find ideas for the gargoyle. In the game its mostly gray and most of the tutorials leads to guide it to gray as well. But I think it is very dull compared to other figures that are full of colors. So then I got an idea about the fire to give this figure more anciet and more depth. Fire is powerful element to show its power and level.
@FinCrow84 absolutely and I totally hear ya there on the schemes. Gotta do what the customer wants though. If you’ve not painted any yet I’ll give you a word of warning that the plastic is not great when it comes to mould line removal, very pliable and soft.
@@BrushWoodMinis Ok, I got ya! I didn't know that you do customer jobs, but that being said, your paint job in the video is still 5/5 as it is! I was just speculating about some personal ideas 🙂
I am absolutely certain the gargoyle was supposed to be a demon. In the original set the gargoyle was even painted red. The game was released too close to the satanic panic, so they clearly changed it.
@@BrushWoodMinis yeah, Chaos demons were (and are) a big GW thing. You know what I said a moment ago about painting as a OSL Gargoyle. A big red demon might be better...
That lighting effect really works to give him a scary lifelike quality. Excellent job!
Awesome thanks bud, glad you like it. 👍🏻
Very nice...I have yet to get this game...Soon...and Glad to see great painting tutorials on it...Thanks.
Aw you’re too kind, thanks. Hope you enjoy the game if you do get it.
4:13 This looks like magic 😱
So glad you liked it and thank you 😊
Rock Solid tutorial here man. Thumbs Up!
Thanks man, glad you liked it 😊
Wow, mate. Just wow. The result is just insanely good. I know it's a simple model but you've done a great job.

@@BrushWoodMinis I'm thinking a blue lightning axe and a red lava sword, with strong OSL from each side, would be very dramatic.
@@darthkek1953 it certainly would, I look forward to seeing that.

Thanks 😊
That gem flow effect is amazing... I just posted a video of me painting this as well. I liked this gargoyle and will definitely use it for other games

@@BrushWoodMinis and it's always good to see it done via a physical brush. Not everyone can get an airbrush (I really do not have space).
@@darthkek1953 thanks dude, I try to use the brush as much as possible, especially in vids. As you say not everyone has access to an AB.
realmente te quedo guapísima, muy impresionado.
Muchas gracias.

It's a cool work. I'm just subbed here
