  • In this training video, IOW Group shows you how to service and clean the self-driven IOW MP400 centrifugal oil filter (centrifugal oil separator/oil spinner) for cleaning lubricating oil and hydraulic oils. This video takes you through the step-by-step process to ensure the service and cleaning procedure is easy.
    0:20 Step 1 - Disassembly of Casing
The first step illustrates the process of disassembling the centrifuge casing. It’s important to note that you must isolate it from the high-pressure line by switching the engine off or via an isolating valve. You will remove the band clamp during this step, which secures the centrifuge casing before removing the bowl assembly ready for cleaning in stage two.
01:42 Step 2 - Disassembly of Centrifuge Bowl
The IOW Group shows you how to disassemble the centrifuge bowl during step two. You will see the bowl assemble consists of the bowl wall, bowl discs, paper insert, top turbine, distributor impeller, and mesh insert (if used). As this section progresses, it will show you how to clean the various items within the bowl assemble, and change any consumables that may need to be replaced.
    04:57 Step 3 - Cleaning and Checkpoints
IOW Group demonstrates the cleaning and checkpoints process. This is where you remove the sludge cake and carbon deposits, within the centrifuge bowl and from around the foot of the bowl discs, near the distributor impeller. Remember, you don’t need to remove and clean the bowl discs, as the product is designed to clean them for you!
The Top Turbine consists of four nozzles, which may require compressed air to ensure they are clear of debris. Removing the sludge cake from the bowl wall couldn’t be easier due to the efficiency of the centrifuge making the sludge cake very brittle.
    09:31 Step 4 - Reassembly and Checkpoints
Shows you how to reassemble the bowl of the centrifuge and the checkpoints that are important to making sure all is present and correct. During this section, you will see that all O-rings need to be checked before inserting a new paper liner into the bowl wall and placing a new mesh insert (if used) on the top of the bowl before tightening the bowl assembly back together.
    14:24 Step 5 - Replacing the Casing
Illustrates how to assemble the casing of the centrifuge, ready to be turned on again, and start to keep your engine lubrication oil clean to its optimum.
