There is so much information and now research coming out on Hyperbaric oxygen therapy as an option for some patients suffering from Covid-19.
Many hospitals and centers are implementing oxygen in an effort to delay or avoid intubation. Some are using facial masks and some are using hoods to deliver oxygen.
In this video, Dr. Jason Sonners explains some of the research behind these two tools used for oxygen delivery as well as reviews some of the research regarding these strategies.

Thanks. The last time I saw hyperbaric chambers was at the School of Areospace Medicine on Brooks Field Air Force base near San Antonio TX.
If a patient was wearing one of these hoods would it make it less likely that medical staff would contract the virus from them once their body was disinfected?
Thank you for this video! Very informative
Where could I buy a hood system/helmet?
For use with a hyperbaric chamber? Do you have a chamber and or a source of oxygen?
HBOT USA yes, I have a oxygen concentrator, want something smaller and more portable then my 34” soft chamber
In order for the hood to work you would really need higher pressure than what the concentrators are capable of. This typically requires a green tank of oxygen or a concentrator feeding a higher pressure system
HBOT USA yes, I have a pump also
Awesome video thank you so much! You answered my question. Interestingly enough i go on different manufacturing websites for hard chambers even eBay but I feel they’re a bit expensive :/. 1) Do you think getting the 3.0-3.3 ata monoplace acrylic chamber, out of the country get you a cheaper deal?? 2) What are generally the requirements someone has to do to become a Hyperbaric tech once you get the chamber?
Grateful for your information. Does the helmet cause ear problem. I have a ruptured ear membrane. I am 80 years old and still physically fit but would like to increase more oxygen since I am now unable to do a lot of exercises.
Hey, just curious... according to your logic, the order in terms of patient outcomes would be last resort/better/best when comparing ventilators/NIV/helmet? Right? I mean I’m not a genius, just in the Mensa society. Could you kindly explain why we are going from no therapy straight to ventilators? Why are we skipping the CPAP? And HFNC? I mean have you seen those studies! Wow! But not everyone is even getting LFNC..... just straight to ventilator when it crosses a line no matter how happy hypoxic they are? Or are hospitals loading up rooms and floors loaded with CPAPs and BPAPs and the CDC is gonna update their guidelines that I don’t know about. So sad.
Finally, helmets got FDA EUA approval for NIV use in the hospital. You can find more info here: www.helmetbasedventilation.com/
You seemed to be ahead of everyone else. Now in early 2022 what’s your conclusions about hyperbaric oxygen therapy for c19 or long c19?
There are a bunch of ongoing studies (nyc, Brazil, France, Israel) all looking at the effects. Initial reports all look positive. More and more people finding relief from long haul as well. This seems to be a great therapy for most of these folks left with lingering inflammation, neurological, respiratory and cardiovascular symptoms.
Where to buy that hood
though I agree with its benefits, it´s not hyperbaric. Just oxigen rich environment
So how many hyperbaric chambers are available to treat C19 patients?
Most hospitals have multiplace chambers in place along with private clinics. Not enough, but it could certainly make a dent in these cases especially with early intervention
So using that hood would have same benefit as the HBOTank? Where would I buy that hood?
Not the same.... more than oxygen itself and less the chamber.
