I hope that any concerns are fixed in the future, i'd really love to see Violette's products as a staple in the make up world. Need more cosmetic brands with her ethos
Well said Jasmine! I'm so happy for Violette and will always support her ☺️👏 I wish this video could have been a 10/10, no notes needed review, but a few products need a bit of fine-tuning to make them more user friendly x
I've never commented on a RUclips video before but I just had to let you know that your pronunciation of Tendre Corail was so perfect (coming from a native French speaker). Lovely video as always, very informative :)
Ohh Olivia, this has made my day! Thank you so much for watching and commenting for the very first time 😄👋 It's such a beautiful language! I studied it for a long time in school but have lost so much vocab since then, but I still love the accent. Which part of the world are you watching from? x
Vìolette inspired me to wear glitters and bold colours, especially eyeshadows. I was jumping with joy when I saw her twinkling eyeshadows. I agree with you, they are definitely tricky to work with but also a dream for someone with hooded eyes as they DO NOT BUDGE. I would love for her to make some more glittery eyeshadows and cannot wait for the lip balm ✨
Violette nailed it with her line. I have two of the eye paints, one in matte and one in blue shimmer, and they are so so great for quick looks. I also got her perfume and petal bouche! For someone more tan, it’s so hard to find a good red so I really appreciate that she launched such a great color. The perfume was a little underwhelming, but great for layering
@@bronte8055 Glossier You is my favourite scent (on my 6th bottle). I only spray nonce, usually in the morning. Violette’s new scent has me feeling the same. It’s different and warmer but still smells like skin and is comforting. I’ve found myself reaching for it in the afternoon for comfort and feel good. It’s a roll on so your not blasting everyone else in the vicinity. . I really dislike overpowering scents. The longer you leave this on your skin the better. Cosy and fresh at the same time . First sniff I was unsure but it just grows on you and now I’m in love x
@@sarahjaini173 I would agree with this description, entirely! I love to apply the Violette fragrance later in the day, when I need a pick-me-up, or need to center/ground myself. The scent remains close to your body (as I prefer), and like Sarah I also think it smells better the longer I wear it.
I’m not a fan of traditional liquid lipsticks that feel dry on the lips but there is something about the colour that makes me want to get this one. I’ll wait for the lip balm launch and see what else she has for us.
I love Violette, and just about lost my shit when I found out she started a makeup line. Definitely have my eye on this one. That liquid lipstick and eyeshadows seem really fun
Okay same though about wanting brands from Lisa and Violette!! Truly the two artists I wanted a makeup brand from more than anything and now I have amazing products from both of them 😍🥺
@@matildaonvideo yes! also for the petal bouche, I like to apply it to the center of my lips and use my fingers to sheer it out to the edges! I really like wearing it this way and find it more comfortable than having a full on look (which I do also enjoy!)
Tbh, I'm not surprised the eye shadows are so intensely pigmented when I think about the way she's talked about her make up philosophy. I remember her talking about using artist brushes and buying pigment pots early in her career, and thinking of make up in the more literal sense of a fine art. So when I heard she was going to create her own brand, I knew it would be something out of the ordinary! Review of the boum boum milk soon?? SOO Intrigued by it, really wanna hear your thoughts on it!!
Very good point Emilie! I love that Violette approaches makeup like art so the pigmentation probably shouldn't have been a surprise 🎨 Unfortunately I didn't purchase the Boum Boum Milk, I regret it! People have said great things about it in the comments x
Thank you for the comparison between Poppy Sauvage and Petal Bouche. Tbh I find the Estee Lauder liquid lipsticks to be some of the most comfortable liquid lipsticks around, the formula is just smooth and thin enough not to look dry on the lips.
Hi Matilda! I really don’t follow any makeup RUclips anymore, but your channel is the only exception to that rule! It’s been so stressful here in Canada but your videos have been a small bit of respite for me 💕
This brand is a dream come true. Violets is so amazing. I am so excited to see where she takes this brand. I have been using these products like crazy since the day they landed in my mailbox.
I never been that excited for a brand launch! I've been following Violette for years now and I can't WAIT to see what she's gonna do. I love her approach to makeup and beauty 🤩
I so wish she would’ve made the liquid lipstick a whipped powdery cream like you described it. I love the shade but I don’t like traditional liquid lipsticks and since I also don’t like glittery highlighters that much and rarely wear eyeshadow, I will skip on the whole makeup line. I might try the fragrance though, it sounds like my kind of scent.
I was so surprised that the fragrance was the first (and only) product that sold out during the launch Hannah! Definitely intrigued by the scent. I hope she creates something you love the look of in future! ☺️ x
Dang those yeux paints sure do pack a pigment punch! Fantastic review, Matilda! I’ll definitely refer back to your video once they start shipping to Australia 🇦🇺

Watched this then instantly went to her website and hit “add to cart” on multiple items haha. These look so lovely, especially those shadows! I think that tout doux is calling my name!
I love the coin on top of the lids. In a way it’s as if this brand is Pat Magrath’s white French cousin with its simplistic components, type writer fonts and gold accent.
Thank you Caterina, I appreciate that! ☺️👍 I love Violette so I wish this launch had been a home run for her, but I couldn't avoid pointing out some of the issues I experienced x
love yeux paint as well even though I agree it takes a bit of practice - definitely will be picking up caramel chaude which I skipped originally in my next order! Also so excited for the bisou balms!
My goodness, that liquid eyeshadow! It was almost comical when you diffused the color all over your arm. The Baume Shine looks interesting; definitely putting it on my wishlist.
I really love Violette's approach to makeup: creative yet easy and quick, so I was also waiting for her new line and am very happy it is finally here now! It takes a long time with delivery to Europe though. I made an order directly on the launch day but it still hasn't arrived to France... But I am waiting and your review made me even more excited, so thank you dear Matilda ^^
I feel like we have a really similiar taste in make up. Violette and Lisa are also my favs! Violette inspired so much confidence in me. I really love her less is more and you wear the make up not the other way around approach😊
I love the end result of Petals Bouche. But it did take a few goes to perfect application method! I have a little plastic tray that I dab the excess off on, and then dip back into that excess when I want to intensify the colour or create the ombre effect. I do find it to be very drying. It's not like MAC Powder Kiss liquid lip, which is matte and hydrating. But, the colour is incredible and I do feel really happy and cool when I wear it! (Not that I wear it often, as needing to wear a mask off-and-on isn't conducive to lipstick wearing. And this does not stay put under a mask. Believe me. I tried..... 🤡!!!!)
Really happy to hear your thoughts about the line. I love Violette’s style of make up and the colors looked beautiful, but I was unsure about the formula (and the limited shipping). Thanks to your review I think I can safely skip the collection.
Great review, Matilda! I've been waiting to see the eyeshadows swatched. So, thank you! The liquid lip does seem dry. I don't use that many liquid lipsticks myself, though. Only one Chanel lipstick that I keep reaching for.
Such a fantastic review! Always appreciate your perspective. I purchased a ton of Violette products and returned the entire order without opening any of the products after seeing initial reviews. I think all of the products are on brand for her style and philosophy, but I wish she had made formulas that were easier for beginners.
Thank you so much Kait, always means the world coming from you! ☺️ Oh wow, I can't believe you did an instant return! It seems like a lot of people have had similar experiences in reviews, so I'm glad there's more information out there now for people to tap into before they shop x
Thank you for comparison in the end...because I bought some of her previous products and wanted to compare the colours and you did just that 😁😁😁 I kept asking to compare the colours especially the red lipstick on violette's lives but I think she never saw them 😅 but thanks to you now I know the answers...Thanks Matilda 🤩
I was so excited when Violette made her video about her own brand, because I am such a fan of her style and the products she created with Estee Lauder. I was sad to hear that they do not ship to Germany because I was hoping to finally find a perfect replacement of her EL Liquid Lip. I love that red and the texture, such a classic for me. What a shame it is not a perfect dupe but maybe her next lipproducts will do the job
I always appreciate your efforts with French product names... I've always felt lucky to be a native speaker of this cursed language!!! I'm definitely going to look into the yeux paint, these twinkling shades are killing meeee
I instantly crushed on the Yeax Paint Mattes, spesh the tout doux shade, but fell head over heels in love with her Petal Bouche lip product as it certainly is the perfect red! What a shame it's not a softer whipped product...and that I can't buy these products in Australia (yet). Look forward to her take on cream blush and lip gloss...Thank you for the introduction to her products 🙏
i love violette! she’s got such a dreamy style. cant say i’ll be picking up anything because i’m trying to save money but if i could get anything i’d get that gorgeous shade tudu ❤️ unrelated but violette always makes me want to brush up on my french again, even if my accent is the much less glamorous belgian kind instead of her perfect parisian french
Super helpful as always! I’m also a big violette fan, and was excited to get her new line. I got the lipstick dry shampoo and the high lighter. I was actually thinking about getting her eye shadows but I basically got all of her precious Estée Lauder collections, and I found the color to be really similar, and that’s why I decide not to get any, just seems like nothing really was standing out compare to past collections. Thanks for the comparison Matilda super helpful
Lovely video as always and how clever of you to compare the line with the old Estee Lauder collection! Completely feel the resemblance there. Also totally agree with your verdict. I got the lipstick and eyeshadow and they’re among the worst formula I have in my makeup collection. I tried many different techniques with the lipstick and always end up making a huge mess. Somehow the scent of the eyeshadow is so strong (like ink) I can smell it throughout the day while I have it on🤢 On a different note, if you love whipped and light liquid lipstick that’s not drying, you must try a Korean brand named Rom&nd if you can get your hands on it. Both of their glossy and matte tints apply like a dream and wear super comfortably. I bet you’d like them!
Thank you for sharing! Glad you had a similar experience with the pigment 👍 Oh my goodness, the scent of the shadows! Completely forgot to mention it! I don't think I've ever owned an eyeshadow with such a strong scent... I can't put my finger on it, it's almost like acrylic paint but more musky? Love the sound of those tints though, thanks for the tip! x
I was waiting for your review! Definitely a very intriguing new brand. Have you tried (or do you plan to try) Katie Jane Hughes' brush collab with Spectrum?
Thanks for waiting Aishwarya! ☺️ Unfortunately I haven't tried Katie's collab but it looks great. I don't really need any new brushes and I'm doing a no buy at the moment, but hopefully you'll see them on other channels! x
I ordered the Yeux Paint in Bleu De Minuet and the Petal Bouche. The blue is divine and the formula is very pigmented and goes on very comfortably and beautifully on the eye. I’m not used to applying such a bold color on my eyes but the application is surprisingly easy -both all over the eye and also as a graphic liner - and I’ve received so many compliments. The Petal Bouche though, is somewhat of a... disappointment? Idk I have quite a lot of reds but not one that is a liquid lipstick until this one. The color is a dream but the doe foot applicator is a mess every time I pull it out of the tube and when I rub my lips together, the color starts looking patchy. And the formula is definitely not transfer proof and ends up all over my chin when I wear a mask and that’s kind of annoying cause my other lipsticks don’t do that
So glad you're enjoying the blue Likhitha! It wasn't my kind of colour but I love seeing it on other people 💙 Definitely not the most user friendly liquid lipstick so I look forward to seeing the sheer formula she's working on x
Been waiting for this! So wonderful to see this review. Also, are you planning on trying her Boom Boom milk for skincare? My order is still on its way and I'm excited to try everything out!
I’ve been following Violette since her beginning on RUclips and I love her beauty ethos. So disappointing she doesn’t ship to Australia or through a third party etailer so we can purchase here.
Hi Matilda! Loved the video, as always. 💕 If you see this, I have a super random question (but you're the only RUclipsr I interact with and actually get responses from!). I bought the Caudalie Beauty Elixir after seeing it on your channel so many times, but mine came with a thin orange film that rests on the top. It goes away if I shake the product, but I figured you've gone through more than one bottle and could tell me if this is normal?
Thank you Andrea! Ooh good question - I haven't swatched them side by side yet but I'd say the texture is fairly similar, but the look is a bit different. Chanel Sculpting always looks very natural to me - no glitter or shimmer flecks, just a pearly champagne glow. Violette's is more golden and has those reflective pigments ✨ x
I hope that Violette's brand is cruelty free and she will ship to more countries, because that magenta eyeshadow is so beautiful, I definitely need it. So nice of you to warn us about the crazy pigment :D
Hello there! What a chic collection this is. Those colours are 😍 (if a little bold for me but are lovely sheered out aren’t they?) Don’t think they’ll appear in my limited collection but can definitely see how they would work for others!! Great video as always Matilda... SYNT 👋👍
Thank you so much for comparing her Estee Lauder collection!! I have the poppy sausage lipstick and I love it, in my opinion it was much more of the velvet rose effect that Violette wants to replicate (neon in the sun, dark in the shade). The petal bouche looks underwhelming in comparison. Your attention to detail and style are wonderful though! Subscribed! xx
Love your review. You made peek into the brand and I am eyeing the boum boum milk and that highlighter! (I've loved Violette_fr's channel but didnt follow her IG)
I was a bit intimated by the line so I got her Boum Boum Milk. I've only used it on the face and skin, need to try and hair. /very moisturizing and perfect for travel or going to the beach or a picnic (would have loved it if sun screen was included but that was probably not doable. I love the all in one - very unique. I would like the pink glittery eye shadow but I don't think I have the skill to make it a liner. I enjoy her channel so much. The line was not what I had expected, but so glad she released her own products and look forward to what she has coming in the future. I will always support her. She is a unique MUA with a wonderful outlook on life.
I only picked up Baume Shine from the launch and I love it! It's a touch more glittery then I had anticipated, but I love the texture and tone. So glad her formula is Squalene based instead of silicone or lanolin. I'm hoping she keeps her future blushes she teased on IG silicone free as well. I just realized Bobbi Brown has a new brand called Jones Road that looks RIGHT up your alley, I'd love your thoughts on it if/when you get your hands on it!
Whaaaat how did I miss that blush tease Jonathan?! Cream or powder? Tell me everything! 😂 I haven't tried any Jones Road unfortunately but you're right, I definitely love the look of it! x
@@matildaonvideo it was matte, looked like a cream but I could be wrong! I think it was in one of her tutorials for the blue shadow on IG. I’ll tag you if I can find it! Also... may have ordered the Jones Road Miracle Balm, I’ll report back...
Hi all - I picked up 2 of the yeux paints (tout doux and caramel) and I love them. They are awesome for oily hooded eyes like mine. I want to get the baume shine but hesitated - how similar is it to RMS cream? Could anyone who has tried both let me know how similar or different they are in both texture/ shimmer? Thanks!
Thank you for one more incredible video. I follow Violette's channel as well. She is so amazing. The products created by her are unique. I am so sad because I a not able to buy them in Brazil. And I can't travel now. I will wait for while. Thanks!
I bought the entire line, so worth it. The perfume smells amazing. And the skincare feels amazing. I like to wear the twinkling ones over the matte ones. The red is my perfect red. The blue is very fun. I didn’t get any of the Estée Lauder products except Poppy Sauvage, you helped me realize I didn’t need them after all, thank you.
@@matildaonvideo LOL “boom boom” my silly autocorrect apparently cannot handle French words. I’ve been using it about a month though, and I love that it is considered an all in one toning/moisturizing/serum product. Cause on days I’m lazy or rushing out of the house I just spray that, tap it in with my finger tips, and then add SPF 🙂
I got Petal Bouche and was hoping that it could sheer out to be the exact same colour at full intensity but it appears to be more purple instead on my skin tone. I’ll continue to try it out though!
Good point! I know exactly what you mean - it's definitely more of a berry red when you sheer it out. That beautiful dark colour only appears when you layer it 💄 x
Of everything I picked up, it's the Boum Boum Milk that's winning the day. It's so lovely under SPF in the mornings. Feels terrific on my skin and I'm grateful that it's unscented. I'm a little underwhelmed by Baum Shine in comparison to the Chanel in Sculpted. I've got to use a lot for it to show up on me, in complete opposition to Petal Bouche. She did not come to play! It's true I've never found a red quite like it - the shade is stunning but I don't love the slightly shrink-wrapped feeling lips, like you. I kinda wish I'd picked up the liquid shadows you did, but I had to rein myself in. Maybe next time I refresh my Boum Boum Milk (if there is a next time, NZ-equivalent of ShopMate prices being what they are!).
Loved this mini review, thanks for sharing Ottilie! 😄👏 I wish I'd picked up the Boum Boum Milk now, it sounds lovely. Shrink wrapped is a great description, I'll keep that in mind for any future dry lipsticks haha x

Oooh I was waiting for your review!! Thank you so much for the beautiful video as always ❤️
Thank you! I hope you enjoyed it ☺️ x
I saw these and loved the look of the matte eyeshadows and the twinkling copper -- it's good to see that they are *sooo* pigmented!
Glad that intense colour gets you excited Natalie! 😄✨ x
Yayyyy I’m so excited to watch the video! Love you so much🫀
Yay, thank you Kendall! 😄 x
Beautiful collection + beautiful voice = Beautiful beginning of the day.
Ohh thank you Chayanika! ☺️ Hope you have a great day ahead x
Really happy to hear your thoughts about the line. I love Violette’s style of make up and the colors looked beautiful, but I was unsure about the formula (and the limited shipping). Thanks to your review I think I can safely skip the collection.
Thank you Gili, I'm so happy to hear this was helpful! ☺️👍 x
Great review, Matilda! I've been waiting to see the eyeshadows swatched. So, thank you! The liquid lip does seem dry. I don't use that many liquid lipsticks myself, though. Only one Chanel lipstick that I keep reaching for.
Thanks for sharing Pramodha! Ooh I'd love to hear which Chanel liquid formula has passed the test for you? 💄 x
@@matildaonvideo It's the Rouge Allure Ink. It's matte, but never dry nor drying. I have tiny lips and the applicator works so well.
Oh no, I hope the brand will expand in future so you have a chance to try her new creations! ☺️💄 x
I’ve been waiting for you to talk about this line!! Yay!
Thank you! Hope you enjoyed the video ☺️💄 x
NEVER CLICKED FASTER!! love your videos, they are so well made ❤️
Thank you so much Alia! Really appreciate that 😄 x
i love violette! she’s got such a dreamy style. cant say i’ll be picking up anything because i’m trying to save money but if i could get anything i’d get that gorgeous shade tudu ❤️ unrelated but violette always makes me want to brush up on my french again, even if my accent is the much less glamorous belgian kind instead of her perfect parisian french
Good for you for resisting Emma! I'm definitely on a no buy after this purchase 👍 x
amazing videos as always
Love the poppy red lippy she did for estee lauder... its sooo confortable and bright 🥰😍😍
Such a great shade! 💄 x
This was so great to watch! I really wanted to buy these but the delivery didn’t allow it! I had my fingers crossed you would make this video ☺️
Thank you Erika! Absolutely, I'll always support anything Violette creates ☺️👏 x
I don't really need any new brushes and I'm doing a no buy at the moment, but hopefully you'll see them on other channels! x
I love Violette she has her own groove and style plus she was an artist before she became a makeup artist.
I was so interested in the highlighter. Thank you!
Thanks Malika, I hope this was helpful! ☺️✨ x
Been waiting for this! So wonderful to see this review. Also, are you planning on trying her Boom Boom milk for skincare? My order is still on its way and I'm excited to try everything out!
Thank you Mary Jane! I didn't purchase the Boum Boum Milk but from the comments here, I regret that decision! It sounds lovely 🤍 x
Love that olive & june nail polish on you!
Thank you Jennifer! CHM is such a lovely sheer tan (but I applied 3 thin coats to build the colour a bit) ☺️💅 x
I’ve been following Violette since her beginning on RUclips and I love her beauty ethos. So disappointing she doesn’t ship to Australia or through a third party etailer so we can purchase here.
Hi Matilda! Loved the video, as always. 💕
If you see this, I have a super random question (but you're the only RUclipsr I interact with and actually get responses from!). I bought the Caudalie Beauty Elixir after seeing it on your channel so many times, but mine came with a thin orange film that rests on the top. It goes away if I shake the product, but I figured you've gone through more than one bottle and could tell me if this is normal?
Great review. Thanks Matilda. One question about Violette's balm: how does it compare in colour & texture to the Chanel baume essentiel in sculpting?
Thank you Andrea! Ooh good question - I haven't swatched them side by side yet but I'd say the texture is fairly similar, but the look is a bit different. Chanel Sculpting always looks very natural to me - no glitter or shimmer flecks, just a pearly champagne glow. Violette's is more golden and has those reflective pigments ✨ x
I hope that Violette's brand is cruelty free and she will ship to more countries, because that magenta eyeshadow is so beautiful, I definitely need it. So nice of you to warn us about the crazy pigment :D
It's vegan and cruelty free.
@@TheEvanesarah That's great! Thank you for the info :)
Urkel is right Natalia, Violette's brand is cruelty free! You'll always find that kind of information on a brand's website 👍 x
Hello there! What a chic collection this is. Those colours are 😍 (if a little bold for me but are lovely sheered out aren’t they?) Don’t think they’ll appear in my limited collection but can definitely see how they would work for others!! Great video as always Matilda... SYNT 👋👍
Thank you Stacey! Glad you enjoyed seeing the colours in action ☺️🎨 x
Subscribed! xx
"Poppy Sausage" LOL!
@@aiai-j7i HAHAHAH I totally didnt see that! Hilarious!
i love the simple and minimal pachaging!
Me too Jenna! Love it 😍 x
Love your review. You made peek into the brand and I am eyeing the boum boum milk and that highlighter! (I've loved Violette_fr's channel but didnt follow her IG)
Thank you Gillian! I really regret not picking up the Boum Boum Milk, it sounds great 👍 x
I have two poppy savage lipsticks bc I was so afraid that one day I’ll lose one or run them out. Till this day it is still my fav color.
Agreed Christine, so happy to support her 👏 Now I wish I'd tried the Boum Boum Milk too, it sounds great! x
Thx for this video. I never heard of this brand but it seems interesting
Glad I could introduce you! ☺️ x
:)
Thanks!
I am really wondering if Valley and Terra from Glossier could be dupes of Tendre Corail and Caramel Chaud 🤔
Thank you for one more incredible video. I follow Violette's channel as well. She is so amazing. The products created by her are unique. I am so sad because I a not able to buy them in Brazil. And I can't travel now. I will wait for while. Thanks!
Thank you for watching Patricia! I hope Violette can expand her shipping soon so you get a chance to try her creations ☺️💄 x
@@matildaonvideo Yes, me too! Have a nice week! Thks
I got the red lip because reds are often not as deep as I want! I also got the boom boom milk! May go back for some of the liquid eyeshadows though!
Ooh I'd love to hear what you think of the Boum Boum Milk, Brianna! Very intrigued by that one 💧 x
This is such a cool video style!👌⚘
I agree the level of pigment was so shocking that first application attempt!
Isn't it so intense Hillary?! Even if the application instructions said 'remove excess first', it would have made a difference. I've definitely read that in other product instructions before so I wish she included it to help people too! 👍 x
Yay!! I’m so happy to see this!!
Thank you! Hope you enjoy it 😄💄 x
Intrigued by this brand for sure! Hoping for some cream blushes in the future! ❣️
Definitely keeping my fingers crossed for cream blush, Kimberly! ☺️🤞 x
Could you do Jones Road?
I haven't tried any Jones Road products unfortunately Rita! Definitely interested to test them out one day 👍 x
Great review! I'm so curious if you tried her fragrance, and if so what you thought of it and how would you describe the scent?
Thank you Mariah! ☺️ These were the only products I purchased x
