Yeah - I guess I would not make it very far anyway on a rope 😂 There are better ways to fall - riding the KTM offroad for example which I did this weekend
Extraordinary...simply extraordinary!!! You should be very proud of the high quality content you publish on RUclips. Absolutely first rate. As a motorcycle "nut" myself I love watching your adventures.
Great video outstanding roads, would like to tour these roads in France next summer. Looking at arranging a trip from Australia with a few colleagues where would you suggest starting and finishing as it looks spectacular! Any advise would be appreciated as we plan to ride through France after returning from the TT in the Isle of Man and on to Italy.
Thank you very much - I assume one of your buddies is Tony? I emailed him lots of information on the tracks including my road book with accomodation tips etc. Sounds like a spectacular trip you guys are planing - really awesome!
Remords Yves we travelled many of the roads that are part of the Route des Grandes Alpes. We briefly thought about doing all of it in a single day 😂 it may be possible but at the cost of missing the amazing beauty of this area.
If you use Dover-Calais ferry or Tunnel coming from Uk to France, Nice stop off about 280 miles is Vianden in Luxembourg, bikers heaven, loads of bike friendly hotels and campsites, cheap fuel, nice scenery, head for Annecy which takes you in direction of great biking roads for French Alps, when you are crossing Alps , Italy is to your left all the way, French Alps is spectacular but you would need to head for somewhere like Brunico to get into Italian Dolomites which is at the top of The Brenner Pass if you go through Austria, wherever you go will be fantastic,Enjoy.
@@MotoVibes Da muss ich unbedingt noch hin. Ein Freund war letztes WE in F, ohne Probleme. Standen zwar noch Grenzer rum, aber die haben ihn nur durchgewunken.
Brian Murphy i know. It’s a lack of time for now. After 16 hours of editing plus hours of getting the video RUclips ready I usually have run out of time. I still have a pile of unedited videos footage 😉
@@brianmurphy5150 If there is anything in particular that you are interested in I would be happy to send you the GPX files. Use the email that listed on the YT channel ;-)
MotoVibes dear Motovibes. What magnificent scenery and compelling roads. You are to be congratulated on your filming and editing also. If you are kindly willing to share the tracks I would love to receive them so my friend and I can ride these French roads after next year’s TT Isle of Man. We are from Australia. My friend will be riding the same KTM model as yours while I will be riding a honda VFR 800. Kind regards virili.tony@gmail.com
MotoVibes you are very kind. Thank you very much. Should you or your friends be planning a ride to Australia, let me know if there is any way I can reciprocate. 🙏🏻
Tony Virili thank you Tony. I will keep this in mind. Would love to travel to Australia one of these days 😎 how many days are you planning to ride mainland Europe? Is it just France / Switzerland for now or will you have time to hit the Dolomites in Italy too ?!
Great video Oliver! When did you ride there, looks like fall? Heading south coming weekend. Plan was to go all the way south to Verdon. But if temps stay as they are now might decide to drop it. Looks like there's plenty of fun to be had further north. Cheers :)
Thank you very much- it was pretty much this time of the year- the middle of August with similar temperatures- gets better at higher elevation but it definitely starts eating into your stamina for long riding days 😉
@@MotoVibes Yeah for that (temp) reason I might drop going too far south. With the recent fluctuations it becomes kinda difficult with more southern projects. While at the same time one definitely wants to avoid snow on the passes :)
@@KMeyn It is still a lot of fun - the higher elevations are a good refreshment from the valleys. We did not drink enough during our trip in August - really impacted our concentration on the road - that was a first for us - a hydration pack would have been great but we stopped at places to get nice cold water every once in a while ;-)
Thank you Nikos! I have had zero problems with my 1290 SAS and I am close to 40 TKM now after 2.5 years. I have heard that others had issues but usually it is not the electronics so much. I understand that this is always a trade-off but one that I am happy to make - I just came back from a safety training and tried out the cornering ABS on DRY road surface. Amazing! First time I dared to fully apply the brake during cornering - really good to know it is there and that it works! I hope I will never need it ;-)
keeping my fingers crossed that we can travel freely again soon. I assume you mean the Klim jacket that got damaged from my crash? I actually had it properly fixed. I sent the jacket to a place in Autria that specializes on Goretex repairs. They did a great job ;-)
I was running Pirelli Scorpion Trail 2 for one season - last season I was on Continental Road Attack 3 tires which I still have mounted on my "street set of wheels". Up until recently the Road Attack would have been my recommendation for pure street riding. However, I had an issue with a rear tire ruclips.net/video/ImWJbe-07as/видео.html I have not officially heard back from Continental on this issue.
MotoVibes yes, I watched your video on the contis. I’m currently running scorpions as on the bike from new but they have squared badly after 6000 miles. I was going to fit trail attack 3s as these were great on my previous bike (1190). However, after watching your vid I’m now not so sure. What are your thoughts on Road Pilot 5s? Andymancam was running these and they didn’t square but I’m not sure how well they would suit a 1290.
@@anton5749 I have no experience with the Road Pilot 5 yet but they have been recommendet to me quite often now - They are on the top spot of the list to replace my Road Attack 3 once they are done. I still have not heard from Conti yet btw.
Thanks for taking the time to reply. I alway love watching your vids - especially the beautiful mountain passes. Maintained my sanity during the UK lockdown. By the way, Stix is a Nick name I got when I kid for having stupid long legs. I deal for the 1290 though. Keep up the good work.
@@anton5749 😎 Thank you very much for the kind words - the 1290 SA is made for tall people for sure - I feel a bit short some times on this bike 😎 Just got to ride a 1250 GS again for a little bit of Monday afternoon offroad fun. 2 cm lower seat heigth of the BMW makes a world of difference. I hope you guys are free to ride again in the UK by now?! cheers
Another great video what an awesome road! We have some amazing roads here in New Zealand as well if you ever get tired of those roads head south and check out our ones you won’t be disappointed.
