    good thing the home owner called you out to do an inspection and electrical testing which saved him and his family lives but also the risk of fire the cost factor when getting quality personal is everything and always make sure they are license and bonded and they have the proper education of what they are doing

    We need a proper regulatory system to sanitise the trade industry... 99% of the workers have poor training... anyone can just wake up after learning how to wire up and claim to be a trade electrician... national standards, training, certification, membership and regulations must be drawn up.. this goes to painters, plumbers carpentry building etc...

    • @Kof_Believer
      @Kof_Believer 10 месяцев назад

      You are right. Like I always say the best way to reduce unemployment in Ghana is to sanitize the trade industry and make it attractive with certifications to prevent untrained staff working in the industry

    • @kingstal90
      @kingstal90  10 месяцев назад +1

      Very true
      They do have certifications
      But the law is just not enforced
      But at the same time there are loads of untrained trades people

    Why can't the energy commission regulate such installations as they have been taking monies to that effect? Shameful

  • @user-ut4lw6tq5f

    Is really true ooooo I've got a meter in my shop and within a month of installation, I have spent Gh200 on pre- paid credit. First, I used to get light from someone and a month I paid Gh30. I even wonder.

    I personally used the plastic MK boxes to minimize short-circuits and leakages when the cables somehow make contact with the box.

    This was very timely for me my electrician is moving my Earth rods today and the ac installation starts tomorrow. We have to move the earth rods because of the location of the lightening arrestor.

  • @danielli6648
    @danielli6648 10 месяцев назад +1

    The RCDs cost around 300ghc for a good one but then there are some bad ones around 70ghc it's really difficult to convince someone to go for a good one when they get to know the prices but buying the cheap one is waste of money and dangerous

    • @kingstal90
      @kingstal90  10 месяцев назад +1

      Agreed
      I would even buy the ones that are 750ghs

    The level of mediocrity among artisans in this country can be really costly. And they have this stubbornness about them where they hadly take suggestions. Even you the lay person can see something is not right but they'd say oh it's not a problem, when it really is. I was just fighting with a tiler the other day over such behaviour. They just want to quickly finish the job and collect their money.
    The energy commission started certifying the electricians some years back to weed out the quacks. Apparently, there's still a long way to go. Sad.
