- The most underrated waterfall in Iceland is just around the corner from the busiest. We found it today on the photography vlog.

Iceland is incredible. And, every day it just seems to get better and better.
The best waterfall in Iceland for photography might be Seljalandsfoss. So, that was our photo location for sunrise today on the vlog. We got lucky too. The light was beautiful, and the sky popped for us. And, the best part was that we had the waterfall to ourselves. We got some photos there, and then we moved on.
Waterfall photography was definitely the name of the game today in Iceland too. We ended up hitting 3 of them in the day.
Skogafoss is definitely not the most underrated waterfall in Iceland. Everyone knows about it. In fact, tour bus after tour bus rolls up to the falls packed with people. Amazingly, though, there was a point where we had it all to ourselves. It's rare to get a moment like that at Skogafoss. But, we got some beautiful photos of that waterfall, and then pushed on.
The most underrated waterfall in Iceland isn't far from Skogafoss though. It's literally just one valley over and only about 400m away. The waterfall is called Kvernufoss and it's just stunning. It takes about a 20 minute walk to get in, and the coolest part is that you can walk right around this waterfall.
The hike into Kvernufoss itself leads to some beautiful photos to be made, and the fall itself is absolutely exhilarating. I think it's easily the most underrated waterfall in Iceland. I mean, it's literally right next to one of the busiest sights in the country, yet no one goes there.
Tomorrow the Iceland vlog continues as I have a couple more videos from here. I have a photography vlog tomorrow as we kind of got hit by some bad weather.
Great find of the smaller waterfall, and what a cracking shot to go with it.
So awesome to see so many waterfalls in one day.... Cool
Iceland looks pretty awesome, but are there any trees there!?
Great vlog Brendan! Looking forward to making my third visit to Iceland in 3 weeks. Will be in the north this time, having been to Reykjavik twice. Wellies are packed!
Very cool locations. Wonderful images...
I went to Iceland a few years back in February for the northern lights. What fantastic landscape for photography !
After watching this video I want to go back !
This is my dude right here, I love watching his travels. If your ever in NYC hit me up, i'll show you some hidden gems around here.
Spoilt with wonderful waterfalls, 👍👍👍👍 Great vlog.....
Did you keep hiking up the Fimmvörðuháls trail.after kvernufoss? There's around 24 more falls along the trail and it's well worth the hike if you had the time.
looked as if you were having a blast and such a cool image under the waterfall
Great episode again Brendan! I'm loving this Iceland series. Those boots and a shower cap, what more could you possibly want in Iceland? Except for maybe a filter holder. . . ;)
Hahahaha. Keep rubbing that salt in the wounds, man.
Getting behind Seljalandsfoss is the perfect spot for some slow motion video!
Was just here a few weeks ago, so cool.
Did you have any problems with volcanic dust getting into everything? yea the Wellies help a lot. Which I had a pair when I was in Iceland.
Two notes here Shower caps and Rubber boots.
very nice.. you guys are lucky.. when I went there, there was like 50 cars and 4 big buses full of chinese.. I'll never forget this waterfall, where i've got shoved and fall with all my gear.. hahahaha good experience!
Are you going to have another batch of photoworkshop in Iceland in the future?
Kvernufoss is my favorite waterfall in Iceland. It blows my mind how many people go to Skogafoss and skip this one.
Amazing waterfall :D Wish i was there in that trip. damn, next time hopefully i wont have classes and that +part if finished, so maybe i'll come to one of your trips :D
There next week, need go re-read the itinerary :-)
Hey! Great Video! Im just wondering what time of year this is? We're planning on getting married at the end of May and I'm highly considering this location for our ceremony. Thanks!
Totally going for a swim in a few weeks, how was the weather?
The weather has been very Icelandic. haha
London.. gumboots!
Yeah....the man is improving on shoeware....maybe one day even hikingshoes?
Cool vlog !
I’m taking my notes on these video’s. ;)
Skvernafoss really seemed worth the 20min hike...
Hey might be a weird question but was there someone called Fabio Antenore with you? He was in the same location around the same time i believe and he is a great photographer too! Great video too man :)
I like that big 3LT. It might be time for a new tripod.
Definitely a shower cap vlog
You kinda look like Matthew Stafford from the Detroit Lions lol
P.S. Keep the videos coming!
It was a really great day! Who cares if we ticked off the drone guys, it was epically epic.
Thanks
2 days in a row at first. 2 more points!
you're not supposed to tell people where this one is!!! Let them all hog skogafoss and the people in the know can be here all alone... We had this to ourselves for an hour both this year and last year. This year as we were leaving a priest was walking in with a B&G for a wedding!
Didn't see anyone else when we were there either. I do think that because you have to hike to Kvernufoss most people are still too lazy to go into it. haha
that and the fence and the awkward parking lot keep it kinda quiet I think? If you know the name it's easy enough to google and find. It's one of my fav falls for sure as well. Not sure how much is the solitude but it's amazing. When you walk over that ridge and see everything it's just jaw dropping!
Gumboot life 😂
Nice vlog as usual, but that ABCDEFG music forced me to turn off the sound...
