I wish I could tell you what makes this video so good. I am just at a loss for words. Reminds me of a long ago time. Thanks to you and your family for sharing.
What makes them so good is that he’s genuine. Nothing is staged, he just brings us a long for the ride. And does a great job narrating, teaching us common folk what’s going on, and plenty of jokes too!
@@jagriffin1 and he’s concise with no interruptions with a great vocabulary and exceptional editing. Its captivatinglly informative, genuine, and always contains a variety of tasks that keeps it all going smoothly.
You spreading crushed rock reminds me of the time we did the same and one of the truck loads of rock contained a whole family of box turtles. My brother my father and I were tossing turtles out of the way so they wouldn't get smooshed. The barn kitties didn't know what to think about that. They were checking all of that action out.
I just love the sounds, Pete, of when you took us with you on the MD road trip today!!! Those moments sent me back over 50 years to our farm days in Minnesota when Dad would allow me to ride with him on our Farmall Super M. The engine and transmission sounds were priceless as you accelerated into road gear!! Blessings to you for letting us be part of your farm family with these videos!!! ;o)
Me too, when my Grampa would take me with him when he plowed his "bottom ten" Loved my Grampa and watching you drive through farm country brought back some precious memories.
I have no experience with tractors at all but since I started watching Pete's videos, I have found the sound of the engine resonates within me. I just love that deep grumbling sound....its almost primal the way rumbles through your head and chest. I fully understand you chaps being enthusiasts. 👍😁
Kudos to the truck driver. I’ve asked that they spread stone and they wouldn’t do it. Something about insurance. Your driver not only spread the stone, but did a great job doing it. I certainly hope you tipped him with some of freezer contents. Great content sir.
Hi. You asked for feedback about what kinds of videos we would enjoy watching. The mechanical ones, for me, are not so much entertaining. The day in the life stuff-I love; particularly, I love the videos showcasing the animals and their quirky behavior. I love to see the work-a-day stuff on the farm like today’s feature of unusual jobs you and Hillary take care of on the farm. I really like those that show things like preparing and going to market-interacting with customers and fellow sellers; it makes me feel like I got to go along! I love when you showcase particular animals such as the two bulls and their personal competition for the ladies’ attention. I wouldn’t mind seeing some of the stuff that goes on inside the house, mainly cooking and/or canning or other food preservation techniques.
Love the nicknames for the pigs and cows ,hello monsters when they're older and acknowledging the ladies. Until this channel I didn't know how the cows communicate. Guess all is well when Patty is quiet!
Hey Pete this is just a idea for you when you have all of your tractors done you should do a little parade around your farm with them all washed up I think that would be cool because they all look very nice and running great
See you got stoned😀😀 ha ha ha. You and your father should of bought the grater that was at the auction. You would have done the driveway quick and easy. The pigs and cows look great. The busy season is upon the Just A Few Acres Farm. Thanks for sharing.
I remember my dad's Farmall Tractor just like Pete's, running hot in the summer nightfall and watching the occasional spark fly out of the exhaust pipe into the cool evening sky. Summer started this way.
Gosh that was funny. “Oh no not a regular socket on an impact wrench no way! Brrrrrr” and “I could put it on Craigslist and probably get….$3,000 for it?” Haha!
Pete and family. I'm Ryk from Seattle. I very much enjoy tractor repair videos with all the other videos. I find all the videos present a real vision of what's needed on the farm. Best wishes and thank you!
Every time I watch one of your videos it lifts my heart and spirits, except for the sadder ones, of course but I appreciate the reality that you share.♥
Those piggies look as delicious as the new one in my freezer from Hepler’s Meats. The lard rendered and canned very well. It matches our new half of beef. 🐷🐮💙
Pete, that was simply a lot of fun! The MD looks beautiful-the muffler is really the finishing touch; I just loved the ride! And the pigs have turned out super! The stone makes such a difference in the aesthetics of your farm, too. You really put in quite a day!
Wow What a transformation on the driveways compared to month or so ago. heck forget the month last week!. from sloppy mud/manure, to dry packed and stoned! huge!!! difference. Love the job you did on that muffler. it looks like brand new!. and the fenders look great! also. Man! I love the job you did on that MD. and yes! I know how much time went into it that we didn't see. what we seen wasn't even the tip of the iceberg. and the "peepers" are coming along good too! you're right they grow fast!. I was surprised you took down your prized Ivy around the garage door. I thought you weren't going to take that down? But between you and me? I'm glad you did it was driving me crazy every time you walked thru the door ha ha. I also love! the ride on the MD. that was great. Thanks again Pete for another great video and for taking the time to do it. we really love them all. it let's us all relive our youth on the farms. ECF.
Thanks Pete for sharing your hard days work. I have watched a lot of your videos and have enjoyed them all, but this one was like you personally invited all of us to come to your place and hang out with you. Growing up on a farm made this day special. Boy those porkers are really showing off the quality care you guys have given them. Thanks Again
I love the “just hanging out with Pete getting stuff done” videos. Please understand that many of us work desk jobs where we listen to corporate buzzwords in endless meetings as leaders say things their actions belie, and we create deliverables that don’t really matter, with no sense of the larger picture, which is not shared with us. Just hanging out with you as you make measurable progress on tangible and necessary things is an antidote to our corporate meaninglessness. Thanks for letting us spend time with you.
Pete and Hillary, I really enjoy your channel as we grew up on a farm in central Illinois and before we retired from the farm we too raised beef, pigs and chickens as well as a variety of animals. Our friends called us the Funny Farm. Watching today’s video and when you removed the dual wheel hub and it was from M&W Gear in Gibson City it brought back memories as we used a lot of their products. We now live about 40 miles south of there in the small town of Villa Grove, Illinois . I especially enjoy your Sunday videos bringing what’s really important to everyone’s mind. We get to tied up in collecting things that amount to basically nothing in the real world. A friend told me once that he’s never seen a u-haul behind a hearse. Wishing you and your family a happy and fruitful life. Lee and Carolyn Bretzlaff
Thanks again Pete, I just love the videos your sense of humor, how you accomplish your responsibilities on the farm, winter has pass Spring is here HARA which always brings up time to clean up the yard area l driveways with the grading,an applying the crushed stones not only does it look superb, but also less dusty. Very soon the field work. I love watching that. Have a great year !
Hi Pete. I’m so glad you put the finishing touches on the MD. It is truly a work of art. Beautiful tractor and restored perfectly. The new stone looks great!!
I love the “solid clank” when you release the clutch and brake pedals against that heavy steel floor board one of my favorite memories of farming, grandpa had many letter series tractors!! Watching your videos give me such good memories and inspiration. Thankyou!!!

Hello Pete I have been watching your channel and I love it it seems like you are old school. You remind me of my dad that passed away in 2014 of cancer. He liked work on old tracks and lawn mowers . He had five acres that we cleared off and he grew a garden on about an acre and a half. He also raised some chickens and at one time had a pig. Just wanted you to know. Have a bless day and prayers for your family
I so enjoy your videos...always make me smile...i was a dirt farmers daughter from extreme Eastern Ks, we were organic farmers but i didn't even know what that meant back in the day. We pulled cockleburs and sunflower weeds by hand, lot of us kids. Slave labor for sure. We had a John Deere B, dad did all the overhauling, we made haystacks if the old old stationary baler was broken. The one where you sat and twisted wire by hand...yea we did. The hay stacks us kids had to jump and smash the itchy hay down. We also had an Alis Chamber tractor, think it is spelled correctly. Later got a Case think it was? Put hay up in the barn by a rope and the big pully thing. This was all in the 50s mostly. No running water and coal for heat...but it is nice to see your farm and your love of your animals and equipment! Thanks...Happy Sunday!
👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🗽🙏🏻 Enjoyed! Have the exact old wire cutters, but my favorite pliers is a Crescent channel locks that my Dad always carried in his plier pocket in his bib overalls. He could fix anything with those pliers and some baling wire👍
I spread countless loads with a tandem dump, that driver was really a good spreader. I never ever was that good. Great video and I really enjoyed the rocking.
Pete, I love watching you, listening to you and picking up a few new things each episode. Thank you for sharing your life with us. You and Hillary are a blessing.
Awesome video! the MD tractor looks and sounds Fantastic!!! oh boy! she pulled out the Honey Do List!! you guys are Awesome! love the fuzz ball chickens. i would love to see how you make the sausage/meatball subs. :) :)
Good video as always and I can’t wait until the next one. I enjoy all of your videos especially how much detail you go into when it comes to everything.
Excellent video Pete :) rocks on driveway looks nice and pretty to also MD running perfectly too also tractors and I Lol said got something fix and should list and you said more for me do for job do ! Excellent memories of tractor stuff days Pete :) and got me Lol! When drive them too back years ago!
Excellent episode Pete and Hillary. (I never wrote anything about your door's ornamental shrubbery, but now I will just type, man, does that look better!) Your hogs look superb. The farm is awakening with a new growing season!
Pete, you needed a bigger hammer on that duel wheel hub. Haha. I remember well now during the 60's New England Mud Season having to spread loads of gravel on the driveway with Dad. Yard work in summer includes digging out chunks of firewood used to fill ruts while extracting cars. We finally got the driveway so cars didn't sink in axle deep every spring when we moved to a new place.
Shout out from Gibson City.. or well.. 10 mile west of it. (My neighbor is from Gibson City, and has a son who farms about 800 acres of corn/soy out just outside of town there). Thanks for the content!
Pete (climbing over the pig's fencing panel) reminded me of a friend's recounting how his "beef" escaped by jumping over the (barbed-wire) fence. When asked if it was a Bull or a Steer, he replied "Well, it was a bull when it started over (the fence) but it wuz a steer when it hit the ground on the other side".....(true story)
Dad would say u needed a bigger hammer lol you destroied that steering wheel lol Love the content so good I am a mason and hope to farm in retirement but i feel i should just live vicariously through you and your lovely family thanks so much
Pete if your viewers have never worked on a farm there is always something that needs doing. Just comes down to what rears it head up as a priority. Looks like you are keeping very busy good on you.
Careful Pete..... the step by step advice given to me to take apart stuck rusted metal bolts is never force them..... just swear real loud and get a bigger hammer..... works every time.🙂
3 things, glad I didn't have to pay for all that gravel, in my part of the country, NC, folks do the plowing in the fall to let the ground freeze over winter, that way it works up so much better in the spring, and 3rd, ever thought about running a straight pipe on the MD, it'd sound great 👍
Not sure about others, but was hoping to see the new blade in action as you did the primary leveling of the driveway. The manure spreading videos, well from my days on the family dairy farm bring back good memories. It was a stinky job, but I enjoyed it. It likely seems boring and mundane to you, but there are people such as myself that enjoy those things. Also the 756 brings thoughts of my 706 to mind, unfortunately the last couple years have not gotten to visit it and drive it around as much with lockdowns etc.
I work at a red deer farm and couple weeks ago we but crushed limestone mixed with stone and used on the driveway works pretty good, it causes to be no ruts which is smoothly when driving on the driveway! But nice video I don't know how you can record and work at the same time!
I’m from Paxton Illinois which is only like 15 20 mins…I grew up there and my grandfather used to worked at the John Deere store back in the day…I live in Sc now.
Well you have been busy while you were gone!. Love the channel I am a new viewer. Love the older tractors and Thank you for being nice enough to share your farm with us. Hope y'all have a good day !
I was scared with the vines, thought you were going to say you dug the out.😂😂 I like plants along buildings where large shrubs just don’t work and helps to soften the view of just building.
"All those viewers living in their basements with OCD"....Too funny, made me laugh out loud! :)
Gave me a good chuckle too. It's even funnier for the sole reason of it being so true.
That was hilarious, I had to google the symptoms of Obsessive-compulsive-disorder (OCD)
Too funny!
I wish I could tell you what makes this video so good. I am just at a loss for words. Reminds me of a long ago time. Thanks to you and your family for sharing.
Kind words, thank you.
Hi Pete! Those pigs sure look good. Probably because of the happy life you give them. They will be very tasty as well 😋!
What makes them so good is that he’s genuine. Nothing is staged, he just brings us a long for the ride. And does a great job narrating, teaching us common folk what’s going on, and plenty of jokes too!

Seeing all those IH case's reminds me of west central MN growing up. We had a B that I learned on.
Brings memories for me too. That road gear sound meant we were going home after baling hay.
I just want you to know it sure is nice to see a man enjoying life. God bless
That ride through the farm land countryside, was pure Americana!! ❤️
Pete you are a rockstar in the farming world I would love to shake your hand someday
Kudos to the truck driver. I’ve asked that they spread stone and they wouldn’t do it. Something about insurance. Your driver not only spread the stone, but did a great job doing it. I certainly hope you tipped him with some of freezer contents. Great content sir.
Love that Farmall whine when you go into a road gear. Precious memories.

The sound of the MD, and the view going down the road, well, you’ve done a great job rebuilding it. It looks ready for another 50 years!
Definitely don't miss spreading gravel with a tractor, finally bought a skid steer and boy it's handier then a pocket in a shirt.

I love them battery operated impact wrenches.

I agree Mark. I'm not a fan of everything being manicured.
you've been busy, Pete. Nice
Wow the pigs are getting big!
