- Hey guys thanks for stopping by my channel to hear my 10 reasons why you should move to Spain! I am so thankful to have lived here for the last 2.5 years and I hope that my experiences can help you make your decision if you're considering moving abroad, or it can just fulfill some of your curiosity of what it's like in Spain.
I have lived as an expat in Madrid, Spain for the past 2.5 years and I lived one summer in Granada, Spain. I have travelled a LOT throughout Spain and have a lot of love for this country, if you can't tell! I will continue making videos about Spain, the lifestyle, diet, etc on my channel for those of you who are interested. Let me know if you have ANY questions or requests and once again thank you so much for watching :)

I am spanish, I was born in Spain and I live in Spain, and she has made me want to move to Spain o_o
It was the same for me, I moved again to Spain after living in London for 4 years, I can't be happier!!!
You live in Spain but you want to live in Spain??? 🤔
Thank you very much Rachel, I hope you spend a great time here. And dont forget our extensive repertoire of monuments and historical places
Voy a subir otro video hoy diciendo las cosas que me encantan de España pero en español 🤗 thank you so much. Yes, the history is also so important to learn! What are your favorite monuments?
@@RachelAnne_ i think you are in Madrid, my hometown, so I cant help recommending Debod Temple, el Barrio de las Letras or the beautiful park El Retiro.
But i LOVE Alhambra in Granada, oldtown in Toledo, Segovia's aqueduct... As you said in your last video, there's so much to see 🥰
Bye!
More than two years ago, I worked in the US, in San Antonio - Texas.
We went to build the theming for the San Antonio Aquarium.
In the three months that I was there, rare was the day that I did not receive a job offer to stay there.
I responded the same to all of them ... "Not even if I was drunk."
They looked at me as if I were an alien, they did not understand that someone did not want to live there.
Imagine the face they gave me when I told them ... "You won't know what life is like until you spend a couple of years in Spain" ...
🙌🏻🙌🏻♥️🇪🇸
As a spaniard who once went to France, I really feel identified with your words. Immerse yourself in another culture, learn their language and meet people from other countries ... I have no words to describe what I felt when I was able to have my first conversation in French ...
Best wishes for your channel and greetings from Marbella! 🙋
Hola! Gracias!
NUNCA es tarde 🤍🤍 if you take one thing from my videos, espero que es eso 🫶🏻
Thank you very much for enjoying and respecting my country. Please feel welcome and stay all you want
🥰♥️♥️ it’s such an amazing place!
@@RachelAnne_ Each region is totally different. Lots of places to see and enjoy. So happy that you feel welcome.
Lovely video! I'm Spanish, I met my American husband 30 years ago this summer (we've been married for 25 years and live in Barcelona). My husband tells me that he never imagined that he would marry a Spaniard and have his life completely changed, new country, new friends, new languages! Funny how our daughter, born and raised in Barcelona, is now applying to college in the US! I guess we will be spending more time in the US in the next years. Best of luck with everything.
Thanks for the video. Anxiously awaiting the results of my auxiliar application. I know people use it as a study abroad, but I’m hoping for me it will be the start of a life and career in Spain! 🙏🏼
I’ve been thinking a lot about moving to Madrid and I’ve just been super nervous about it! This is helpful and I hope I get over this anxiety and go out there this year for at least 6months!
Your enthusiasm is contagious🤗
Hola Rachel! Me encantan tus videos! Además, me gusta mucho tu acento y pronunciación ...entendible para mí ! Un 10!!
Yesssss please a video about how to move to Spain and talk about your own experience. I went on Erasmus last year and two of my best friends are Irish and Portuguese and now we're trying to talk to them into moving to Granada after they finish their bachelor, but the Irish guy doesn't speak Spanish so obviously he's a bit scared about it even though we tell him that we'll help him and everything jejejjeje.
Omg I will most definitely make a video on this. EVERYONE should study abroad in Granada 😍 every single person. And you definitely don’t need to know Spanish before coming. I knew absolutely nothing! After 2.5 years, I am “bilingual.” I’m posting my first video 100% in Spanish today. It takes time to learn but it’s so worth it
@@RachelAnne_ I watched the video you did in Spanish... Wow! Maybe make us a video of how on earth you went from nothing to where you are now. :::???
Great video ! I'm Spanish although I'm living in England (learning English) and I completely agree with you hahah "tu sonrisa habla por ti" that make me laugh hahaha
Am so happy you found your place here in Spain, enjoy !!
I have been to other countries a few times before (I am from Spain) and, although I enjoyed my stay in most of them, I always ended up missing Spain in one way or another (though it's usually because of the olive oil xD). It was actually hard to put a finger on it before I saw your videos; you have helped me realize why I love this country so much :D
You should try basque food if you haven't already. Better yet, travel to visit the Basque country. You will discover still a different world.
I’m an English teacher from the Basque Country who lived in the US for over a year. I think everybody would benefit from living in a different country. Europe has good things, but America does too! Mostly it’s people. Great job!
I'm considering moving to Spain from US too... my only concern is that I already have a doctorate and I'm not sure if I can find a job related to my experience. I'm starting to research and read about the working visa, etc. I think I can move I'm two years maybe.
You may have convinced me to move back :)
POR FAVOR!!!!♥️♥️
You should come to visit us up here, in Asturias, i think that as texan... it may like you; specialy now during summer.
Me he permitido escribir en español because my English is not as good as yours 😁... and also para que vayas practicando.
Bienvenida a Madrid
Hi Rachel. I just loveee your videos. You mention here that you were in a teaching English program or something like that so I was wondering how can I do the same!!! I’m not American tho but I am an English teacher and would like to have the opportunity to find that kind of job in Spain!! Let me know gorgeous
you are incredible.
Being the top producer of wine the world certainly helps and influences that €2 glass of 🍷
USA also produces its own wine in California. The difference is that here is an accesible product and in the USA wine has been commercialized as a premium/exclusive product therefore is expensive.
Don't worry. Your English is awesome.
What about our health system?
How is living in Madrid things to do and costs of renting apartment and restaurants. And finally getting around ant hotel costs
I will hopefully do a video on costs of living in Madrid very soon 😊
In what Spain's city do you live? What's the thing you most love of that city?
Hi Rachel! Where are you from in the U.S? Listening to you talk about your life here sounds very similar to my own and I’m very curious!
I am from Texas!! 🤠 Wbu?
@@RachelAnne_ Kansas! 😇
How did you get papers to live in Spain?
U have very nice accent, I'm from Granada. Regards🙂
The better Spanish pronnunciation not is on Madrid, you can found on the people from San Sebastián, Bilbao or Santander for example. You can found a good pronunciation for example hearing or viewing the bored online rtve spanish television.
This question is for Rachel or really anyone else... I am an American and have been to Spain many times. I love it there as well. However, you are leaving one very important aspect out of living in Spain. How do you make a living there? My understanding is that it's very difficult to get a job there if you are not a citizen of the European Union. Yes, you can probably teach English, but the pay is very low.
Spain ❤️🇪🇦
When US Nationals say America they refer to the United States....just a note for latin americans I know I know it is weird
Are you living in Madrid or in Granada?
I’m living in Madrid!😊
@@RachelAnne_ so living like a queen!! Im so glad for you....
It’s true!! Tengo muchaaa suerte
@@RachelAnne_ el proximo video que sea en español.... 😃
Pues si.... lo he pensado 🤠
¡No pasa nada! 😄
I watch many spanish ppl on the comments, but what american ppl think about it? I mean your family and friends from USA
Can you open a bank account if you visit Spain?
If you visit, im not sure. But if you live here on a visa, yes!
She pronounced paella the correct way (Cries in valencian from happines)
Is Spain culturally closer to Mexico or to France?
México is a spanish formen colony, just as the USA’s northern eastern coast was british. Spain and France are culturaly related since the Roman Empire, so both. Anyway, due to México is an independent country since the XIX century, it’s very americanized.
@@CEIVE4EVERMexico was never a colony. It was a Spanish province, just like the rest of territories that belonged to the Spanish empire and their citizens were Spanish overseas.
@@nuriam7169 a provincie... Do you know that in Spain that entity (province) appeared in 1833, I mean, after Mexico's independence...
Q linda eres! I'm getting addicted to you!
I don't think Spain is that cheap. Housing is really outrageous, it's not unusual for a couple to be chained to a mortgage during 20 or more years after buying a ridiculously small apartment built in the 70s just to be "in the city" (and I not only mean BCN and Madrid but also boring places such as Soria or Palencia).
Agreed it isn’t, but for most Spaniards, a few years abroad saving up allows them the option of a down payment. I was mildly surprised by house prices in Donostia San Sebastián and Bilbao, certainly a tad more expensive than Madrid.
