THIS is the video type we need. Problem tanks and how you help resolve issues! This is perfect for us newbies. Perfect tanks are fun to look at but this is what we truly need.
As a new reefer this has helped out a lot when it comes to tackling some problems in the tank, keep up the good work WWC!! P.S im loving my new zoas thank you! 🔥
Awesome video and full credit to Tommy for sharing his real world struggles that just show he is only human like the rest of us. I’d love to see more videos where you visit tanks that have issues and see your recommendations on how to fix and then show the results. The community needs heaps more of that. I’ve been doing this for 5 years and am only now becoming aware of just how important snails are! I got some bad advice about them early on and avoided using large numbers.
Thank you for watching!! A tip is you should always adjust accordingly. So you can attack algae with excessive amounts of snails at first and later on if there's not enough algae for the snails, you might want to get rid of some :)
Great Video as Always guys! Any idea how to deal with bubbling SPS Victor? Seems about 70% of my acros seem to be bubbling, and polyps looks like tulips if you will. However they are growing, but very very ackward growth.
Casper sighting at 8:32 on right side of the tank. Also just to be clear you guys were talking about .05-.08 for phosphates (not nitrates), right? Thanks for video
That's a great question!! You can find some pretty good discussions regarding this on reef2reef! If you have any more questions, please email us and we can try to further assist you! www.reef2reef.com/threads/need-help-finding-correct-gph-flow-for-uv-sterilizer.822607/
What’s up Tommy . I know that with Vic’s help that your tank will be back on track. Can’t wait to see the follow up video to see that corals you added in place.
I have a similar algae problem. Salifert phos 0.03 and nitrate 10. The sea urchin I bought is in my tank for 2 weeks. It's a tuxedo urchin. It has pretty much touched 0 algae because all it eats is the coralline...Leave a lot of bite marks on my rocks revealing the rock's original color. Have not been very useful to me tbh despite all the internet saying it's an aggressive algae eater. Perhaps mine is unique? Any idea?
That ATS alone will go about 90% of the way once it takes off. Those things literally work too well. Had to take mine offline over two tears ago and not running it to this day. Highly effective piece of equipment.
For sure! That's why it's always important to test regularly and just equipments accordingly. There are times where we'd have to turn off our skimmers!
@@mikedelape6609 no, you don’t quite get how it works, if you eliminate the source which is sucking up your nitrate and phosphate you get a true higher figure of phos and nitrate and you do something about it lol
It's always great to attack it head on first. After that, you can trade some snails out if needed or i've actually seen people keep snails in the refugium. We had a customer with a huge aiptasia outbreak. Fixed it with a bunch of Berghia Nudibranch, then got rid of them after :)

Great video! Can’t wait to see an update of Tommy’s tank. I predict the turn around will be epic!!!
Thank you for watching!! We're sure it's going to look amazing!!
urchins do some unreal work, personally i think they are much better than any snail but that's just my opinion!
We absolutely love urchins!! They're definitely underrated!
Absolutely. Few tuxedo urchins, maybe Halloween and Diadema.
2-3 snails, (trochus) per hermit. Female emerald (big crab small claw) for bubble.
they do nice work but they knock my corals down all the time
@@christianmedina5721 yeah I’m trying to teach them not to put my damn zoas ontop there head, my zoas are not a hat thank you very much!

We are not all perfect. Glad you showed us this episode.
We are glad everyone is responding so positively to it! We don't want people to get frustrated and give up on their tanks. There are always solutions!
Love this! I also love helping anyone anyway I can.
That's awesome!! We need reefers like you!!
What GPH do you recommend to run through the UV to help keep any fish disease at bay?

Great problem solving video!
Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed the video!!
I agree with you about the cuc and the tangs for sure. The tank really is not "that" bad lol.
what was the piece of equipment used to wheel the tank into the house + pump it up to the height?
8:32 i see Casper on the right next to his shirt where is says world wide corals
What’s up Tommy . I know that with Vic’s help that your tank will be back on track. Can’t wait to see the follow up video to see that corals you added in place.

1:52 it said Thursday the 28th??
Ya ive got some gha problems too and my phosphate is at 0.01. I might pick up an urchin and let it do its thing.
Definitely try that out and let us know how it goes! Get some blue legged hermits as well!!
I will definitely let you know 🙏
Isn't that too low of a phosphate number? @@WorldWideCorals

Would love a few of these videos as an complement to the others 😊
Rescue my tank series would be awesome. I think he should start dosing kalk imo.
Great idea!! Thank you for the suggestion!
I'm confused about the alkalinity/phosphate thing.. Explain?
Casper @8:32!
how much gal is that tank?

Maybe try a pincushion urchin? Your urchin might have a unique craving towards coralline algae :)

Should do a food mixture and feeding video
oooh great suggestion!! Thank you for watching!!
You should totally do more videos on tanks that aren't doing well or that are in there first year!!
Great suggestion!! We have more troubleshooting vids coming your way!!
its like you talking about my reef tank we have the same problems
See if following these tips will help your tank!!
Get a scopas tang and a bristletooth tang eradicate the algae in main display and you will get the correct nitrate and phosphate :)
Appreciate the suggestion!!
they wont help with nitrate and phosphate lol they will actually contribute too it
@@mikedelape6609 no, you don’t quite get how it works, if you eliminate the source which is sucking up your nitrate and phosphate you get a true higher figure of phos and nitrate and you do something about it lol
phosphate in city water is hairy alge started buy high PH water n distilled no more tap water
Don't forget 15 green emerald crabs--they eat a lot
Isn't that too many snails and hermits? What will happen when they are out of food?

How about bubble algae 😭
If tangs are not your thing , use Sea Hare for algae control , they eat algae continuously until its time to sleep .
Great suggestion!! Thank you for watching!
It comes to show that expensive gear doesnt help much.
Need to see more vids like this
Will do!! Glad you liked this video!!
What about a lawnmower Benny? My sis had a bad gha problem and he took care of it almost single handedly
ooh that's a great tip!!
A tank to be proud of in just a few months time 😎
Can't wait to see how it turns out with some more coral!!
You should make that into a serous too fix issue.
great idea!!
I wish the background music was turned down a bit. It makes it hard to listen to the dialogue and is overbearing.
Noted, we appreciate your feedback!!

Worst tank you've ever seen! Try looking at thousands of flatworms covering your glass haha.
😅😅😅
You haven't seen my tank! I hope this recipe helps me out.
Give it a try! Attacking with water changes and clean up crew is the idea!
The clickbait was crazy tho….
