Wow what an old castle remains! When did you go there? Is it summer? I work with a Portuguese lady and she was talking about those egg custody deserts, what are they called?
It's a wonderful castle, Olga. Really enjoyed walking around it! No not summer, November if you believe it! It was a bit chilly out of the sun but all good for that time of year. Yes I know the desert you mean, they're called Pastel de Nata. I actually tried one (which will be in an upcoming video) and they are delicious - especially when served warm! Recommended for sure!
The lack of health and safety on those castle walls isn't something you see every day in Europe. But stunning views from up there. I agree on the price being very good. We had similar sentiments when in Madeira. That was my first time in Portugal and I was surprised in a good way by how low cost things were, yet that castle wall aside *ahem* how developed and easy things were for us as a tourist. Feels like western Europe until you see the prices. Now I have a little taste of the country, I want to get to the mainland and the Azores too!
One of my pandemic effected trips that never happened was a 7 day road trip around northern Portugal, starting and ending in Porto. It really did look like a great place to visit! Hopefully someday I'll be able to reschedule it.

Where's the gate where the knight lodge his body so the moors could not close it.
I’m not sure but it sounds interesting!
