When I got my three baby rats, they were not weaned (I thought they were) and my two older rats were ABSOLUTELY EXCITED to see them, they almost jumped in the carrier xD they never really fought, they bonded extremely quickly (I think my two older rats craved company)
That happened with my 1 yo boy(belly) and the 4week old (guda) i got guda a few days ago and belly a few months ago and when belly saw guda he literally started hopping over him hes so happy now

i started watching you a year before i got rats and i now have 14, you really helped me and my partner out when preparing for them. my recent two are 2.5 year old boys 🥺

@@Iamaguienapig Well, sometimes you can't adopt rats. Where I live I can't adopt already owned rats. We only sell babies here, so adopting isn't an option.
And interesting to hear about not keeping them side by side, which is a method I used in the past when introducing. Agree it didn't seem to help, everyone got agitated. But you do these things because you hear/read about them as best practice, so goes to show - keep open mind, keep researching. Will look forward to your intro video.

Love your videos and your pets 💕 I wanted to let you know that I have seen people post in a small local rat group I’m in on facebook about those halloween spider web baskets- at least one person had their rat’s tail get stuck in between the plastic bits and ended up degloving the tip 😞 I thought I’d warn you! Turns out, my allergies were quite predominant... Fortunatly, a friend of mine had room in her group of males and took my three lovely boys in...
You should make a video once you get your new rats on how to bond with them step by step from getting them first time into your house to having them trust you ! I would appreciate if you do a video like that. Of course you don't need to do but youre the first person I know who uses a bonding jacket to bond with rats and I've watched tons of videos on rats haha.

I used to own ferrets years ago (over a decade)... I stopped when we started raising a family with small children (ferrets + babies/toddlers aren't a good match)... now that I have teenagers I decided to get ferrets again and after personal experience and a lot of lessons learned plus new research, I broke out my old Double Ferret Nation cage (had it stored all these years for a "one day i will have ferrets again moment), cleaned it up really good and spent a month collecting all sorts of things for the cage and ferrets (bedding, liners, hammocks, blankets, food/water bowls, etc) and after over a month of prepping their environment and ferret proofing their play area in the home... THEN I got ferrets (well planned for family members... never impulse-buy pets).

Dang, when I heard Hawthorn was in scotland I thought I was in luck, but it looks like they aren't selling. Having an arse of a time finding a breeder up here.
I think a lot of the Scottish breeders aren’t selling because of lockdown at the moment but there’s some good ones once they start up again! I recommend alpine and Aurora

I just got my three little ratty boys, and they are very cute! I’ve been researching by for close to a year now, and still have so much to know. They are really well socialized and are 7 weeks old. I just wanted to know what I should do to bond with them closer. I’ve watched a lot of videos but would like some more advice. Also I put a mark on the water bottle and will be checking it in a few hours, but I’m not sure if the water bottles are working well. I had one, but then added another bottle in fear of them being dehydrated in the morning. The new bottle doesn’t have a ball at the end and the are all having a hard time living the nozzle. Could I train them on how to use it or should I just use a ball nozzle?

How long should I quarantine my rats when they first come into my home? I am getting 3, so should I keep them all separate if they are coming from the same breeder? And should I get rats from the same litter, or is it okay to mix and match?
If you don’t have any rats at home or other small rodents you don’t need to quarantine and if they’re coming from a good source I usually don’t. It’s fine to have rats from multiple litters and they don’t need to be separated

Can someone help, I'm getting rats soon but we don't know how to exactly let them have freedom, there are holes under the doors they can escape out to other rooms and our house is a bit messy with cables around and tons of other things.
Ok I just got some rats on the 29th of december and they are two cute little boys. But they were from a pet store, but they weren't from a popular one they are very skiddish. they have only nibbled and licked my fingers. taken cheerios from my hand I'm a little worried I'm doing something wrong. :( Can somebody help me?

When I get my rats, it’s going to be at least an hour drive so should I make sure there’s toys and food in the carrier??
Don’t bother with toys they will probably just sleep but make sure they have food and a water source if you can’t attach a bottle give them some watery food like cucumber

Hey, just wondering but what do you think of the Kellie ville pet shop in Sydney? It’s the only place that sell rats near me, and was wondering if it was good or not.
I live in the U.K. and I’ve never heard of it so I don’t know. If it’s a big chain pet store then probably not good to get animals from there

my boys are getting old and i would love to start looking into putting my name down on a waiting list with a breeder but my boys have had chronic respiratory infections since I’ve had them and i’m worried they will pass them on to any babies I get! How should I proceed with this situation?!
It’s ok if you don’t reply I was just wondering what the best cage would be for 2 or 3 mice I have done a lot of research but I just can’t seem to find a good cage
