If you add a light with shadows activated, you will get shadows. just place a surface where the ground should be
when importing my blender 3d asset to after effect, but when i do export in obj/glb/gltf file i have a white wall at the back and down of my asset, on top on that my asset is full white, with no textures and colors on, and yes i use the last version of AE
Adobe should pay Andrew Kramer already. He revolutionized AE with Element 3D. Also, E3D saved my tush on a project when my Maya renders didn't return from the render farm in time.

If the 3d model didn't show but only the outlines of the model did, your graphics card are not really good enough

Yes you can import any 3d model and texture in AE but it's not always going to look good. But you can try an environment and see for yourself
Thank you so much for your reply, can you please help me find a certain environment photos or videos that cover all 4 angles of the place in order to use it for a greenscreen scene and cover all around the characters so that I can change the camera angles and still make it look real. I struggle a lot with finding the right compatible images for that purpose, can you please direct me to a site or help me with that in anyway? That’s why I thought about using 3D environments but I’m not good with working with 3D models and don’t have time to spend in learning.
I don't know a website where you can download multiple camera angles of the same location. If you import a 3d model in After Effects it would look very unrealistic as the AE render isn't good enough. So the only option I see is to do it in 3d software like Blender or life with it when it doesn't look perfectly realistic in AE

What about depth of field?
if you change the 3d renderer from the classic to the advanced 3d space, the depth of field option in the camera settings will be disabled. you can try to fake it. i hope they'll implement it in the next updates. same goes for the motion blur as said in the video.

hey just a qucik question, do you know how to import an animated 3d file for example from sketch fab to AE?
Animated 3D files are not supported yet, that's why I choose a rock as more complex 3d models don't really work so well

when i import the 3d object i can scale it but the object is not showing
Have you set your ground plane and origin before creating the plane? Because the 3d model should appear at that point
@@BSPStudiosI’m having the same problem the selection box is appearing but the object is not showing ..so choose blender but there also cycles takes lot of time to render ..I somehow want to get blender files to E3d for fast workflow ..

Beta is Beta...a test application that is most likely flawed...thats why it is beta. Why are people pushing to use a Beta app to create content? Everyone is now so impatient that they deem Beta to be production...just to be able to say they can use a feature...and when it goes belly up...they complain. It has been in beta since the 2023 version...so it isn't stable even now....
My intention with this video was to show everyone what they can expect from After Effects in the future. If you want, you can use this feature now already and if you don't, you at least know what you can expect in the near future for the standard AE version. So use it or not, it's completely up to you :D
Adobe added the 3D feature to the standard After Effects version today so you can now use it with (hopefully) no crashes
