Is this a lot like the Zildjian K custom (not custom dark or dark) from the 90's? I have a 20 but would like a 22 with a bit more wash vs ring. Sounds like it is

I have the same ride from the 90s. I was thinking the same!

Generally I prefer a 20 inch ride (22 just feels too big for my tastes) ......

Great review!!! I find this to be an extraordinary cymbal. The bell on mine may be slightly higher-pitched. Just one minor criticism: the sweet spot on the bell is pretty small, at least for mine. You really have to be precise where you hit it to elicit the optimal tone. With that said, this has replaced my beloved groove ride as my favorite.

Now that I’ve had a chance to really play this cymbal throughout 2024 on a ton of gigs, I stand behind my earlier assessment of an “extraordinary cymbal.” World class. That small bell sweet has become a non-issue. Perhaps I’ve just become very familiar with how to play the cymbal. My only complaint now is that the cymbal tends to easily tarnish. I’m afraid to clean it, lest I remove some bronze in the process and adversely impact its wonderful tone.

Todd always knows good sound. A bit too much wash for my taste, but definitely a nice ride cymbal.

It’s hand hammered so there are drier examples out there. Mine is a bit drier and is just beautiful in person.
