Let’s be real. Fans had no reason to hate on the prequel trilogy. Fans are the reason the prequels changed plots. Imagine how good it could have been if Darth Jar Jar was the big bad.
@@damnhippies4519Lets not go there, its not ever flawless. No piece of Star Wars content is really. The dialogue was still subpar. Ahsoka should have been part of the movies from the get go, heck Christopher Lee Dooku as a Jedi should have been in the Phantom Menace or something as a flashback kn establishing context. And lets not forget Grievous, who should have been in the Attack of the Clones briefly slaughtering Jedi. The Clone Wars basically patched and filled all of those gaps the prequels unfortunately hadn't or just didn't fulfill. The prequels should have never needed the Clone Wars to explsin significant details that were left out of the prequels. Both should stand on their own two feet. Much like how Andor, Rebels and Rogue One filled a few gaps in the original trilogy yet they were also able to stand on their own two feet as their own content.
Dude just shut it alright people know the worth of hayden now and which was realized very late atp they are happy to see him and has decent duels in the ep (not the best) just because u dont like it it doesnt mean everyone else so stfu and get a life
This was the best Star Wars content I’ve seen in a very long time. This right here was peak Anakin, in full control of both the light and dark side. This is full potential Anakin, the most powerful force user ever.
It warms my heart how easily Hayden slips into Anakin again, not just because he's returning to the character, but the fact he's embracing the changes Matt Lanter left on the character. It goes to show that Hayden really does deeply care about the franchise and the character.
So many things I love about this scene. 1. The Call back to Return of the Jedi. Also the call back to revenge of the sith. Where he turns his back to draw his lightsaber with his right hand. Almost like a small gesture of honor. Similar to how before all Jedis duel, they remove their robes and take their handle in their hands and ignite the saber. It's Anakins own little routine. That's very cool and It's very Jedi like. Love how he kept that. 2. This whole scene is reminiscent of Jaro Tapol and Cal Kestis. A Master reaching his apprentice from the afterlife to still teach them a life changing lesson to renew their mindset and value systems. 3. Anakins lightsaber fighting style. He locks sabers first to assess the strength of his opponent, then he uses his own power and strength from his feet to push down and that pushes Ahsoka further back. Anakin is so light on his feet, yet he deals devastating consecutive powerful blows with each saber swing. It overwhelms his opponents and pressures them to uncomfortably be on the defensive. This makes them vulnerable. His offense is so overwhelming, that it leaves his opponents little to no time to react and counter. They mainly block and try to recover. Anakin is always in control of the fight. His attacks are powerful and lighting fast. His attacks then leaves them open. Which gives Anakin opportunities to capitalize off of their mistakes. Much like when he faced Dooku. He's still managing to gracefully step in place. His footwork is exceptional. He has terrific balance. And he's in control of the whole fight. Moving her where he wants her to move. It seems like combat comes to him so effortlessly and naturally. It also seems like something he enjoys, and also looks like its something he misses. Especially the one handed saber twirl he does. That's always been the coolest saber move to me! It's so great to have Star Wars’s main character back. The entire Saga is about Anakin and to have him back feels so right. It's amazing. Hayden knocked it out of the ballpark. We need more.
I love your analysis of Anakin's skills/Hayden's performance. In the lore, Anakin's fighting style, Djem So, focuses on aggression and overpowering his opponent with sheer, force-augmented strength. It's genius that he would initiate with a saber lock to gauge his opponent's strength-- plus from a viewer's perspective it's such a cool way start to a fight. Also it's neat that Hayden's athleticism and passion for saber choreography parallels Anakin's hot temper and love of combat. For Anakin, fighting in the Clone Wars was an outlet for his aggression and anger, much like how for Hayden, playing Anakin is an outlet for his own energy and love of choreography.
@@efaristi9737analysis is a powerful tool, if you look at the ending of the third movie, a solid 15 minutes of fighting from anakin and obi wan, anakin was in control and overpowering obi wan, the only way obi wan won that fight was because anakin was arrogant and obi wan used an illegal move, cutting him in half.
@@the-insomniac323 That's one interpretation. Mine was always that Obi-wan was constantly falling back, guiding Anakin into chasing him hoping to get anakin's ego to cause him to make a mistake. The truth is probably a bit of Column A, bit of Column B. =)
The moment Ashoka touches that wounded soldier and says we lost so many, I can’t help to think that the current version of her isn’t just talking in that moment but her overall thinking about the entire clone wars and what happened to Her Battalion on there way back from the battle of mandalore
What really touched me are Anakin is giving Ahsoka her last lesson and that injured clone trooper, giving a soft and gentle touch and silently saying: "I'm fine commander"
It's great to see everything hayden learned from nick Gillard in attack of the clones, and revenge of the sith, damn shame Disney aren't using him anymore as the fight choreographer
I bet Hayden was popping off about finally getting to hold a red lightsaber as Anakin and become what Anakin would've become as Vader had he not burned
It actually brought a tear to my eye hearing anakin call grown up Ashoka ‘Snips’. God the clone wars were my childhood I’m glad they incorporated it into the live action world!
I love that when Anakin goes Darth Vader mode, the shift is as physical and audible as it was obvious - speech, mannerisms, and fighting style all shifted once he swapped out for that red saber lol
Young asokas acting is unbelievable here. Her and Hayden did great together. Especially the scene where she is holding the hand of the clone trooper. Showing compassion. I really felt this scene. Very underrated
You can see a difference in the first part where it looks like a jedi sparring match but when he is Darth Vader, you can tell he is out for blood. The feel of both scenes is just incredible
I may be over hyping this but seeing Anakins eye's go back to his normal color after being Vader once Ahsoka choose to live, it gave me so much satisfaction that we got to see Anakin at what he would be if he wasn't manipulated by Palpatine. I cried so much seeing him. This series is so well written 👏 🙌
Having never seen the cartoons with her... it's kind of interesting that without overtly saying it, you can tell that his concern is that she is just like him, as though he has self awareness about who he was. Whereas it also seems that her concern... is that she is just like him, with regards to who he became. This scene actually showed a lot with regards to the two characters, their relationship and how that relationship fits into the overall... just by showing a lightsaber duel. Damn, whoever wrote this is GOOD
I'm so happy to hear this! I'm a big TCW and Rebels fan and I grew up with Ahsoka watching her since the end of season 2 of TCW. I really enjoy the hell out of her series, but I still wonder what others who aren't familiar with the show think and I'm so happy that those same emotions that I've felt watching this as a long term fan have been felt by someone who isn't into the animated shows.
Highly recommend watching The Clone Wars. Not only gives scenes like these in Ahsoka a deeper meaning, but also it's a masterpiece of a series. It is literally up there with the likes of Breaking Bad in terms of writing, possibly one of the best series ever made despite being animated.
Seeing this was like seeing goku go ssj for the first time. So full of rage but yet so controlled. I got chills with the Vader shadow. And got hyped seeing him go from light to dark to light again. That control is insane.
Seeing him in 1:50 with his clone wars clothes made me really happy and audibly gasp. I haven’t watched the show and haven’t really been interested in Star Wars for years now, but Hayden in Clone Wars attire next to phase 1 clone troopers just made me want to watch all of Star Wars again.
I dare say this entire episode was made great by Hayden Christensen's performance, his knowledge, performance, lightsaber-action especially, was fantastic. Nobody was embarrassed here, lessons were learned and corners were turned, not to be poetic. I'm eager to see where this universe leads.
I remember watching the prequel movies and thinking that Anakin never felt like Vader. I like them bringing Hayden back because it's giving him so much to work with. He feels like Vader. He feels like the Anakin from The Clone Wars cartoon. It's awesome.
I love how Obi Wan and Anakin have different teaching styles as Force Ghosts, Obi Wan will sit down with you and talk, but Anakin will straight up just kick your ass to get the lesson across. Do you think he just throws hands with Luke when he needs his Father’s help lol?
Sometimes a son needs a bit of both from their dad. If my dad wasn’t around for me to take my frustrations out on, I could’ve been a monster. By the time I was able to beat him in a fight, I didn’t want to anymore because I had matured
Its a shame Anakin didnt bother to talk to luke about his "lack of conviction"... what an amazing scene. Wish we could have gotten this kind of treatment in the most recent trilogy.
I think it's actually kind of a "Master - Apprentice" thing. Qui-Gon appeared to Obi-Wan, Anakin appeared here to Ahsoka. Keep in mind that it was Yoda who appeared to Luke in Last Jedi.
@LeedleLee457 As a dad, there is no penultimate passing of knowledge than that of a father to his son. That holds WAY more power than a master and apprentice. Way less ownership. Anakin not showing up for Disney's messed up version of Luke when he was lost is a huge writing failure and missed opportunity. This scene is so epic! We needed this in the most recent trilogy. Don't make excuses for their lack of vision.
Hayden didn't deserve that much hate from the old-timers, I love that he's back, Clone Wars, and Rebels are getting love they all deserve. Ashoka is pretty much Season 6 of Rebels ❤❤❤❤
People overlook that the only times Anakin/Vader ever lost anything was with people he loved. Without that he is a unstoppable force. He was always on the edge of struggle. It's such a sad tragedy. Nobody stood a chance. When defeated he defeated himself.

My favorite part of this is the changes in fighting styles throughout the sequences. Anakin's "Vader Stance" is slow and deliberate with no wasted movements from his mechanical hand. Really great attention to detail that connects the prequels and the original trilogy. Ashoka's greatest hits of saber stances and styles is awesome too. The choreography is so meticulous and mind blowing in this. I'm so happy people get paid to make this art.
Hayden is still too good, so good that they had to have Ahsoka disarm him OFF CAMERA because they couldn't figure out a way to have her disarm him properly🤡
Yup . It is clear he had to slow down so that Rosario Dawson doesn’t get overwhelmed. I bet the only one who could still keep up with him right now is McGregor .
Bullshit. People would fucking cry and complain if they made Ahsoka beat Anakin. Hell, there are people that STILL complain that by saying Anakin lost to her when Anakin was only there to train her and wanted Ahsoka to learn something from him.
They could do a series about how he got his scar where obi wan is training him but hayden won't be playing anakin it be a young version like young ashoka here
I love the Clone Wars Ahsoka scenes, the characters and everything is so well translated into live action. While i was watching it, my mind would often switch between cartoon and live action and it was great to see that
I love this fight so much. You can see so clearly that Anakin is in complete control of the fight the entire way through as if he could end it at any moment if he chose to.
Back when the Prequels came out, I used to think Hayden wasnt the right fit. Wooden even as an actor. He's come a long way and I'm now convinced he really is the perfect Anakin and Darth Vader. I hope he keeps finding his way back into the role as it is.
I don't need to go back in time that far. I would have rather seen him doing the sequels. However that might have turned out, it would have been better than the 3 movies that we have now...

It must be the most incredible feeling ever for Hayden to be playing Anakin again except this time he’s actually appreciated for the role as he should have been all those years ago!

This right here was peak Anakin, in full control of both the light and dark side. This is full potential Anakin, the most powerful force user ever.
glaze of doom wtf
How do you know so much about fighting styles?
@@efaristi9737there is a lot about the forms in Star Wars. Lots of coverage on it and the different types. Anakin uses form 5 for example.
@@efaristi9737analysis is a powerful tool, if you look at the ending of the third movie, a solid 15 minutes of fighting from anakin and obi wan, anakin was in control and overpowering obi wan, the only way obi wan won that fight was because anakin was arrogant and obi wan used an illegal move,
cutting him in half.

Whereas it also seems that her concern... is that she is just like him, with regards to who he became.
This scene actually showed a lot with regards to the two characters, their relationship and how that relationship fits into the overall... just by showing a lightsaber duel. Damn, whoever wrote this is GOOD

I want Anakin to get his own series. Having Hayden back is amazing, I feel like I’m 6 years old again
5:37 the way Hayden slowly changes his face and expressions from Darth Vader to Anakin is just astonishing.

1:27 sounded like it was straight out of a clone wars episode, and the lightsaber spin was too clean
People overlook that the only times Anakin/Vader ever lost anything was with people he loved. Without that he is a unstoppable force. He was always on the edge of struggle. It's such a sad tragedy. Nobody stood a chance. When defeated he defeated himself.
1:27 that lightsaber swirl man! I miss this kind of lightsaber combat
He can be angry and frightening in one moment, and happy and loving the next
That move where Ani spins the lightsaber around his back is just so iconic… I’m glad Hayden is finally getting the love from the fans
