'Our World and Beyond', an acrylic painting sized 28 x 20 inches painted on a stretched canvas, showing the Earth and Moon, with beautiful stars/galaxies in the space beyond
This video is a time lapse, showing the process of creation. The total painting time is approximately four to five hours over the period of a few weeks.
We hope you enjoy this acrylic space painting time lapse video
Music by talented artist Jack Broadbent (Don't be Lonesome)
Wow! I cannot think of any other words. When I would rather see your painting of space than a photograph of space... wow!
Thanks, I’m glad you like it 👍😊
That's one of the best things I've witnessed in my 17 years 🤘💯😍
Well thank you, that's very nice of you to say so. :)
OMG! This has to be one of the coolest paintings I've ever seen!
Sharon Weik thank you 👍😊
this looks better than all the spray painting i have seen
metallic rock thanks for saying so 👍😊
Very nicely done with two planets. I was really surprised that you added the planets first vs. doing the entire sky background and then add the planets. I usually just flick paint for the stars and layer with glaze to give the stars more depth. Love the precision on the moon and earth. Nicely done Chris!
ShawN shawN thanks for your positive comments. I agree about the flicking paint idea, but it’s a bit messy on my grey back-cloth! Haha 👍
Beautiful... I like how you even added a swirling hurricane on our magnificent Earth. Amazing painting skills :)
Lavender Rain thank you 👍😊
Beautiful. Would not mind watching the long version... Thanks for sharing
Thanks for your comment 👍😊 Unfortunately there isn’t a long version, it was filmed in time lapse
Not sure how you did the planets so well. It's easy to make planets with spray paint and pots and pans. With acrylic paints, it's way harder.
Thank you 👍😊
i like it. it is interesting watching it in a different medium. very different approach, so it was fun to watch it develop. nice work.
Jes Ewers thanks for your comment 😊
Awesome work! I like your "steady stick" I'll have to make one to keep my hands off the painting
Yes, it’s called a mahl stick. I made this with dowel, a ball of cloth wrapped and taped round the end, then covered it with chamois leather. Good luck 👍😊
This is amazing!
Liv Xx thank you 👍😊
WOW! It's so beautiful 😍
Painting Art thank you 👍😊

Maikho Ocampo thank you for your comments 👍😊
Amazing!!!!!!...What colors did you use for the planets
wow!
No Copyright Music - Becassine Fleurette thanks for your comment 👍😊
What is the purpose of the stick you used throughout?, Is it to maintain boundaries? How did you learn how to freehand items like the continents so well? Were you using a reference image?
Benicia Livorsi thanks for your comment. The stick you refer to is called a mahl stick. It’s used to rest your hand on when painting details, so as not to smudge your painting. I was using a reference photo to paint the earth and the continents 👍😊
Mind if I ask you what brand of paint you're using? The opacity is amazing, just like this painting!
C Rebel hi, thanks for your interest. I use mainly, Windsor and Newton Galleria acrylics, and Daler Rowney System 3 acrylics. Hope that's of help. 👍😊
Anathematica
hermosa obra de arte. lo Felicito
eder montero grazie 😊
Wow! a really good painting!! i suscribe
Constanza Arancibia thank you 👍😊
Very very nice
Soni Shaikh thank you 👍😊
which paints are you using? When I try to paint over black with my acrylics I have to do like 10 layers until it looks like yours. And also, how did you get that nebula to look so amazing O_o
Great work I love it
SinusQuell thanks for you positive comments. The paints I use are Rowney System 3 Acrylics, and Windsor and Newton Galleria Acrylics. You’ll notice it did take two coats of white when starting to paint the earth and moon. If you use very cheap student quality paint then this is very transparent and will take many coats to give a solid colour. Thanks again 👍😊
@@ChrisPickstock Great, thanks I'll give those a try =)
which type of paper is it please say
Thanks for your question. The painting is done on a stretched canvas
Chris I need a tutorial, that's too fast
Really 😕
I agree. I changed the speed and it was still waaaaay to fast. Its a beautiful painting though.
🎨🌎🌌🌔🌠🌍🎨
Notice how he placed a major hurricane slamming into the west coast of Mexico!
Is this to scale?
That Fellow no, this is not meant to be an accurate depiction of the universe as it is. It’s just an arrangement of different elements of a picture done to make a pleasing composition. 👍😊
Hey! I like your paintings very much 💚💛
I wanted to paint like this, can I borrow it? 😍
Jhrine Tajuda 😊
Respect
D'sBalls thank you 👍
Nice one
Thanks 😊👍
why did u first make a white galaxy line if u had to hide it by black it didnt even reflect in that, ijust didnt get it?
sara khan that is a very good question. The answer is simple, when I painted the large white galaxy, I decided it was too big and dominant so I repainted it smaller. Simple as that, and thanks for your question. 👍
change of mind? maybe
piyush chaudhary ji are you an idiot? Maybe? ... The artists reasoning is right above your comment. Kinda negates the need for speculation, doesn't it? (Rhetorical question - it does)
and that makes you wanna cry?
About the stars can anyone tell me how to do it ?
Faiza Batool the way I did the stars is simple. I just used a tiny brush and applied thousands of dots all over. A much quicker way is to load a larger brush with wet paint and flick it onto the canvas. This method is a bit more messy 😊
sir nice art work
Ankit Prajapati thank you very much 👍
Please do some slowly
Dimple Doddi thanks for your comment. I’m afraid I take a little too long, to film them in real time. Sorry
whats the song????
Farrieda zakelijk "Don't Be Lonesome" by Jack Broadbent.
A pitty
Too fast and also no closed captioning so I couldn’t understand you at all so I am disappointed that
Sorry do not like time lapse!
+Kordelija Minelgaite - Oh, yes, because you think the only time frame longer than 3 minutes is 3 days? Trolling is addictive. Seek help.
Time lapse does indeed make painting look so quick and easy- as if it is always 10 min of work and then its done. It does give the inexperienced viewer the wrong impression on how much effort goes into a good painting such as this.
I take it you don't teach the subject. What is the point in showing a time lapse? Sorry to say but this is just an ego trip for you it seems.
Russ Martin, thanks for your comment. You are quite correct I am not a teacher, but lots of people get encouragement and inspiration from my videos, without the need of step by step instruction.
Russ Martin it encouraged me, much like a lot of other time lapse videos do, and I also learned a little something despite the time lapse. There's a point to most everything, regardless of if you might understand what that point is or not. Take the time to think before you speak (type) next time.
Amazing
Melina thanks for you positive comment. 👍😊
