Depends on what you're buying it for. Motec is the best for the track....but if you're running a totally integrated system on the road it doesn't even come close.....I'd go Haltech every day.
I have a Q. I want to install my 2005 Porsch Cayenne Turbo motor tranny and transfer case into my 2002 Jeep Wrangler TJ. How do I know what stand alone will work with Porsche?
So are all the stand alones completely universal? Or are they specifically for a specific type of engine. Like for example I’m looking for a stand alone ecu for my golf GTI which is a 2.0 built motor with big turbo, would the haltech or AEM work on that? Or are those just for v8 or v6 applications.. will they all work on I4 motors?
Motec also features a DBW control that's the same as what the OEMs use. I calibrate OEM ECUs for a living and nothing comes close to Motec and Bosch Motorsport.
@Firefly_3161 I've used an emtron KV series once before. I didn't mind it. I just prefer the Motec because with M1 Build you can add features by writing some code for it
@allandriver2066 Motec beats Haltech. Better quality, reliability, repeatability, as well as more advanced functions. Haltech is okay for an average car and is a fraction cheaper. However if you want finite accuracy and reliability when there is a lot of money involved or your life such as aircraft, I'd only choose motec. If you are converting a lawnmower to efi, haltech is fine.
So many options for my k24 swap civic. I think the aem infinity 506 is what i want.k.pro I is expensive but not even a tenth the performance as the aem infinity ..
I have a GR Corolla coming in My goal is to increase to a total 400-450hp over time I do plan I changing out injectors, springs, cams, e85 tune, etc. I would like to be able to drive it lightly on the weekend by really be set up autocross and hill climb What ECU would be best?
Hi bro, loved ur video learn alot from video but bro still confused in i have rx8 rotart now am going to upgrade to 1jz gte if i use standalone ecu my all car features work with that or not like abs, traction, light all sensors i mean every thing please help me out.
Great ! video 👍, What do you recommend for a 1986 Toyota van , I'm ah try to swap the AFM for a MAP Because the AFM has allot of air flow restriction 🙏
your 86 is going to be pretty basic, any ecm with a built in air pressure sensor would make things easy for you. Lots of brands out there though that have affordable models. Check Haltech, ECU master, Motorsport Electronics, FuelTech is nice because it has a built in screen that you can use to show data, and i believe you can make tuning changes through the screen as well without the need for a laptop.
Hi I have a question for you I have 3 ford engine one is the ford cosworth 2.9 v6 engine the other are 3.0 liter one is the vulcan and last the sho yamaha engine so my question is can I use the original ford ecu of the vulcan and put it on either the cosworth engine or the sho do they have all the same base map parameters in it thank
BRO HOW DID YOU BY PASS THE ANTI THEFT SYSTEM?!?!? MY 1998 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LAREDO 4.0 V6 STARTS SOME TIMES THEN IT DOESN'T HELLP ANYONE?!?! Ive tried everything ive seen on RUclips Nothing has Worked! Message me
Not to sound antiquated or anything but with all these electronic sensors the stepper motors and air gap sensors aren’t as accurate and an have mild shorts or delays in readings. With the old mechanical gauges everything was real time and accurate. The question is. Why run electrical with several possibilities of delays and failures than can actually lead to failure?

you´d have to look that up for the individual ECU but most are usable for up to 12 cylinders or 4 rotors
@@joemama069 ok awesome Thankyou
Hi, nice video. Please review Microsquirt ECU. Thanks
what separates these units is transmission control , Link ECU does not do transmission control Motec M150 does...

@@AndrewEGHi, what about bosch ms6 or el129 from enginelab (AEM ecu) or Emtron kv8/12?

@@AndrewEG I know that Engine Lab have script engine for this, also they have a simulator, so you can try without HW.
Im sorry but Motec is not at the top anymore bud it's Haltec Nexus R5.
Haltech is not even close. What makes you think that?
@@chippyjohn1 What makes you think they're not? What's your pick?

Haltec is the most popular and accessible. I'd take Emtron or MoTeC over Haltec if budget was no option.

Find a tuner and ask them what they prefer.
What about maxxEcu?

Every car feature will work with a standalone
For a LT1, which is deal?
AEM 1050U walk through please, I'm a standalone virgin!
For a 2001 mx5 1.6 which is the right choice for low badget ??
The AEM v1 series 1 is that still a good management to use now ?

what is best for my isuzu 2005 altera 4jj1 engine ?
I still use a Haltech Platinum Sport 1000. Great ecu for my street car.
Wait?!
You run a Haltech on a street car? What about emissions?
@@fredastaire6156 no emissions where I live. I don’t live in a communist state :)
