He’s the best scorer of all time and it isn’t close. All because of one simple reason...Every great scorer has a weakness somewhere. He’s a 7 footer with handless and speed like a guard. Can shoot from 30, finish around the basket, back to the basket, facing the basket, post game, midrange, driving ability. Shot can’t be blocked. He is literally a threat everywhere on the court.
Everyone knows he's one of the greatest scorers, but to be the GOAT scorer you have to actually score more as well... Jordan just has more volume in the playoffs than him. Like PPG wise Jordan is alone lol
If Kyrie don’t flip, Jordan is cancer and I’m willing to bet Allen won’t be happy about sitting in the bench because of Jordan. Caris Lavert is also a ball dominant guard... might not mesh well with Kyrie
I mean you have Jordan, Kobe, KD, Kareem and Karl Malone. I would say those are probably the Top 5 scorers all time. Regardless of however you feel about KD, he’s a 7 footer that can do literally everything on offense and moves like a guard. His jumper is almost unblockable and he can either blow by you or cross you up. It’s hard to say he’s a better scorer than MJ but my god I have never seen a player that can score as easily as KD.
Eghose Isiramen Way better. Off the dribble, catch and shoot, contested, from any spot, can hit from the logo. But it was a different time. I 100% believe if MJ played now, he would 100% develop a more consistent 3 PT shot because of how insanely competitive he was. Also he played in the triangle and didn’t really need to shoot 3s to score a lot. I mean he was a 10x scoring champ. But yes, KD is a more complete offensive player in terms of what he can do, not necessarily numbers.
Eghose Isiramen KD is special, and I really hope he comes back and is most of his old self physically. I hated his decision to go to GS like most ppl but I’d be an absolute hater if I said he wasn’t fun to watch in the playoffs. At some point you just have to respect greatness. I doubt there will ever be another player like KD for real.
@@gabesoto9301 I agree with all these points, and I had no problems with his move to GS, I just liked good ball, well except for him beating lebron but still. Hopefully he comes back 100%or at least close to that
KD is a walking 50/40/90 guy for what seems like most of his entire career. KD exist at the intersection of both extreme efficiency and versatility. Stylistically his game is beautiful too. His game has remnants of Elgin Baylor, Dr. J, MJ, Kobe, and T-Mac.
As much as I hated him for going to Golden State, I’ll give him the props that he is the most efficient and prolific scorer in NBA history. And yes, I am aware that Jordan has 10 scoring titles, but Jordan was always light years ahead of his teammates offensively. Compare that to KD who’s played with other scorers on his team his entire career. (Harden, Russ, Klay, and Steph)
Having another their all time scorer in his team (Curry) makes it easier to score more efficiently. His efficiency absolutely skyrocketed after he joined the Warriors in 2017. Check the difference in efficiency between 2016 and 2017 playoffs.
Great breakdown! Very thoughtful, original, and accurate breakdown of how he can score from four levels: three, pull-up, runner-floater, and rim finishes. Yes, I agree that he is the best scorer ever.
Undoubtedly he is one of the top 3 scorers of all time. For me it's not only the huge skillset that KD has but also how effortlessly he scores.Anyone who's played basketball knows it's not easy to score and to score over good defenders, but KD scores effortlessly on anyone good defenders or bad. And most of the times the defender looks so helpless. I've only seen Jordan and KD score like that. Not too many other players come to mind who can do that.
@@javierlandaverde4108 nobody knows that Kobe Bryant was still good at going to the basket Dominique Wilkins was incredible basically the same player for the next 4 years so you can't say that cuz we don't know
Wilkins was how long ago.... pre-historic age and Wilkins and Kobe were better athletes than KD who for most part of there careers avoided injuries. Both if there Achilles were “freak injuries”. Kd’s body broke down season after season because of his lack of taking care of his body and health. He had 2 major foot surgeries since OKC years and now the Achilles. Won’t be the same in terms of getting in the bucket for contact. KD last season missed time as well. Too bad playing with 2 shooters 2 excellent defenders and point forward did not made it easy for his health. Can’t say the same in a Brooklyn. His career is over.

One thing to add: KD almost never seems to have a cold shooting night. I know that every great scorer (even kd) will here and there have nights where the ball just won't go in, but even on the stacked warriors, there'd be nights where steph, klay, draymond, iggy, etc all had cold shooting nights, and kd still averages near 50% shooting.
Awesome topic man, for me, I think Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Durant are the most dangerous scorers with and without the basketball I have ever seen in my entire life...simply unstoppable
No one at his size has ever had the polished, versatile and well-rounded offensive game he possesses. He can get to the rim or pull up going either direction, handle the ball like a guard, finish through contact and shoot from anywhere within 30 feet. he's the best scorer of all time, no question.
his hands are naturally big (i think kawhi has bigger hands, but hes a freak of nature as well) so he can literally palm the ball while dribbling to get the ball into his shot pocket with a single hand. the other hand is just there for assistance for at time of shooting. as a 6'10 SF who can basically guard 2 through 4 with ease. and some 1s and 5s. He is basically a swiss army knife. Can fit into almost any team. Granted, his joining of GSW with the roster they had already, will always be a chip on his shoulder. but this Nets revamp with him and Kyrie, who are actually friends off the court; can easily get them the Eastern Conf and then some.
4 time scoring champ at okc, been to 4 finals and won 2 rings, had one of only 7 50-40-90 shooting seasons in history, gotta league MVP, and 2 finals MVPs, the man is a 7 foot guard and can do whatever he wants....he will have his way with you no matter what. A true man amongst boys when it comes to scoring, then to top it off he plays great off the ball and is a defensive beast. Potential to be all time leading scorer over Kareem if he plays long enough....without question first ballot hall of Famer already
I was never going to forgive OKC for taking the Supersonics from my hometown. We drafted KD. I still have a pair of KD sneakers and a KD backpack in my closet. He has suffered setbacks, injuries, but he has soldiered on. He is pure offensive basketball in a crazy, almost comically long frame. I hope he comes back in his original form again. He is a nice in a generation talent. Oh man... The 2:07 mark. KD playing against the King's IN SEATTLE!
Best scorer in the game today, easily. I dont know enough about some of the older generations to speak on the entire history of the game.. though I do believe he has to be mentioned in the discussion.
1. Kobe 2. Mj 3. KD 4. TMac 5. Melo Those are my top 5 most skilled scorers. Kobe is still in my eyes the most skilled scorer even though he took a lot of bad shots especially with post Shaq pre gasol Lakers, I've never seen anyone who did as much as he has with a little natural gifts compared to the other people but he maximized better than anyone. Gilbert arenas says it perfectly
KD’s undoubtedly the most versatile scorer we’ve ever seen but there’s a difference between being the most versatile & being the best. MJ is still the greatest scorer we’ve ever seen, based on results
Let's be real tho KD could have like 4 scoring titles at least, KD has been on a stacked team for the past 3 seasons so he hasn't scored as much as he could. He relies marginally on athleticism also compared to Kobe, MJ, etc so he can keep this up till he's 38 aswell and by that time he'll probably stack up the accolades too
MJ was known for his scoring rampage when he was young with an efficiency of a big man. 45.2 ppg on 30.4 attempts 35.7ppg on 21.5 attempts and his scoring records in playoffs is unmatched. Many people forget that MJ has an insane level of stamina and creativity that even in the most difficult situations he scored a lot of his points.
RO Payne Karl Malone has more points than Jordan all-time too. Doesn’t mean he’s a greater scorer. Kareem scored his points over the course of almost 20 years man. Jordan only played in the NBA for 14 seasons. Two of them being with Wizards. And he’s still 4th all-time (currently)
Its so sad that you're probably right, will take a year to be back and then half a season for him to get back to feeling comfortable again. Will probably lose that explosiveness to really handle the rock, also will be 32 by then damn..
He is top 5 for sure. His height advantage and athleticism kind of puts him in the wilt category. Where it’s a little less impressive to some(not me) how he can score at will. MJ, Kobe, Harden are all average NBA height 6-6 so what they do looks a little more harder than KD. You left out the free throw shooting which to me is pivotal and very important part of a great scorers offense. Kd is a career 88% from the charity stripe.
@@marco5030 what really makes you think that? After watching a RUclips video and reading everyone else's comments? The stars are there, rings, practice. Kobe can so what KD can and maybe MORE.
In my opinion Kevin Durant is easily the best scorer of all time, his offensive and defensive game are both perfect. In todays basketball people are talking about position-less games and players who can play all 5 positions, but Kevin Durant is the only player I have ever seen who can actually play all 5 positions. He's large enough to play center and quick enough to play a point guard, no other player has that ability. I believe Kevin Durant could be the GOAT, his skills are second to none, and his body is perfect for the game. The only reason I don't consider him the goat is because of his mental toughness, he hasn't really shown to be a leader on the court and he has backed down in situations where he needed to step up his game and dominate. Him going to golden state was probably the weakest thing I have ever seen an NBA player do. That being said Kevin Durant is my favorite player and he is still playing the game, I hope he can come back as good as he was before and become the leader I know he can and lead the nets to multiple championships, if he can prove that he is as mentally tough as Micheal Jordan or Kobe Bryant or LeBron James then I will call him the GOAT. If not then he is still the best scorer of all time, which isn't that bad of a title to hold.
I been saying he’s a scoring machine since he came from Texas. He’s honestly the best scorer I have seen like a chest code. But I’ve been a big fan of him for many years
GREAT video. KD has a name for that "Hang Hesitation" you mentioned. It's called the "62". Don't know WHY...but that IS his signature. He has some videos out describing these moves.
Unfortunately he got the injury while trying a cross... That thing will always be in the back of his mind when hes handling the rock, will be another season before we even see him too damn..
Jordan was a bigger mismatch not just on any defender, but on whole team defenses. Jordan averaged 33.4ppg for his playoff career. KD is the most versatile scorer ever though!!
In terms of pure ability and versatile, then KD is defintely the best ever. But it's what you've done that matters more, Jordan just has more volume on similar efficiency to KD. Also check his efficiency in the 2016 playoffs to his 2017 playoffs. Playing with Curry and Klay and the Warriors has taken him to new heights. Also most guys here comparing KD's career so far to Jordan's full career, Jordan was firing away in his later years so his efficicney obviously dropped. Also yall act like playing with no zone means Jordan just played one on one throughout. Just because Longley or Rodman camped out by the three point line doesn't mean the big man defending them would have to be at the three point line. They'd be ready to help anytime on a Michael Jordan drive lol. And unfortunately Jordan couldn't drive and kick because there weren't as many shooters back then as there are now in the best teams. So when big men like Hakeem and Robinson and Shaq helped, he would have to take a mid range shot. Fortunately for Jordan he was the greatest mid range scorer ever.
@@mrslick58 His diverse skill set is damn near unmatched I'm not even including his great height and pretty decent athleticism. Let me put KD into perspective Into KD makeup KG Size Jordan mid range Athleticism. Of Adrian Dantley More clutch than Hondo b Finish like Gervin Post = Bird Create shot like Glen Rice
In terms of skill set he has no weaknesses. It still boggles my mind how he hasn’t dropped 60 points in his career. Hopefully he can recover and do so on the Nets.
KD my fave player but he has two weaknesses...lower body strength( bump him going left and he more than he should falls to ground) and second, I wouldn't call a weakness totally, BUT wanting to overhandle the rock from far out. Would love to see him give it up earlier and get to his spots
Ben Simmons (one inch taller) will probably end up with better handles when it's said and done but the combo of both, yes. Strictly shooting, prime dirk has a slight advantage.
Agree 100%, people are so biased towards MJ and Kobe. Kd is a better shooter than both MJ and Kobe and is way more versatile. KD is way more efficient than Kobe ever was and is just as efficient as MJ. KD has shot over 50% from the field his last 8 seasons. MJ and Kobe played on bad teams prior so they had the green light to shoot over 20 shots a game, KD has taken 20 shots twice in his career, both years he was dropping more than 30 a night... Kobe averaged 35 on 27 shots, KD averaged 32 on 20 shots...his MVP year with no all stars WHILE leading them to 50 wins. If KD has the exact same green light as Kobe and MJ did, or even harden did this season, he could easily drop 30 a night. People forget his MVP Year he had 12 straight 30 point games only reason his streak stopped is because OKC destroyed the nets and he left the game early with 26 on 10-12 shooting.
I would say that he's probably a tougher cover as a scorer but he's not the best scorer of all time. Whatever area MJ lacked in that KD is efficient in he made up for. MJ was way more athletic and got to the rim easier. He also didn't need to shoot a lot of 3's because he was unstoppable midrange and at the basket.
MJ grew up in the time of hand checking. KD wouldn’t last that generation because he doesn’t take care of his body, hence why he’s out for a year. MJ took care of his body and scored 50 points when he was 40. Clearly shows the lack of knowledge and age from you missing out on MJ
Kd is literally a person who can shoot from half court to the 3pt to the midrange to the fall away fader to the layups to the dunks contested or uncontested and all be considered a good shot he can shoot of the dribble plus catch and shot and can pick and pop while also being able to shoot over everyone:...and on top of all of that he is 7’0 ft tall come on the best scorer ever belongs to this man.....
Wouldn't a league dominated by big men make it easier for Jordan? Because the game is so focused and predicated on the interior and not the perimeter? Just playing devil's advocate...
Corey Hudgins The only legit wing defender in the 90s was his teammate Pippen. KD is scoring with ease against Giannis, PG, Butler, Kawhi, etc.. He’s simply the GOAT scorer and would’ve been even more deadly in the pre-zone era with Power Forwards being forced to guard him in the 80s/90s
Auston Matthews He planned in an era of pre-zone defense, which allowed guys like Rodman and Luc Longley to camp by the free throw line and draw their defender away from the paint. And you obsessively don’t know what handchecking is. It’s not holding onto the offensive players hand and preventing him from dribbling. Besides, “handchecking” was illegal way before MJ even stepped into the league and he played with the watered down rule.
Greatest scorer ever, no doubt a 7 footer who can handle it as well as anyone, next level motor skills, finishes as well as anyone arguably the best mid range shooter currently and has range well beyond 30 feet, he is simply unguardable
Always knew this it’s undeniable because this simple math 7 footer + one of the best shooters + point guard like playstyle = greatest scorer in the history of basketball. His biggest weakness is posting up haha
In my applied math course I had to do a statistical analysis project. I did it on the best scorer in nba history. After looking at like 7 stats and putting them in percentiles almost everything points towards Durant.
i noticed all the things you said during this season - even his free throws man - the streaks he had this season and in the playoffs - impeccable In my opinion the best player in the world still IDC - its insane how this guy works and how his body structure gives him such an incredible advantage Oh and unstoppable cross over and jump shot like you said its just crazy how he operates - so lucky BTW 7:19 almost the most clutches shot
He is the best scorer of all time, not a single player has been able to score all the ways he does as effectively as he does. It's insane to watch, honestly.
james learing I’m not one to use hypothetical arguments but you put Durant in Jordan’s position, he might not be as successful but he’d definitely be putting up his scoring numbers
It’s Jordan man 10 scoring titles, highest ppg average in regular and playoffs and all other types of records like most playoff series to average at least 40

I agree, his offensive ability is just incredible
He’s the best scorer of all time and it isn’t close. All because of one simple reason...Every great scorer has a weakness somewhere. He’s a 7 footer with handless and speed like a guard. Can shoot from 30, finish around the basket, back to the basket, facing the basket, post game, midrange, driving ability. Shot can’t be blocked. He is literally a threat everywhere on the court.
What is Kobe's weakness? Please tell me. He'll adjust to it right away mid game.
@@raymanny7418 Kobe isn't efficient scorer, throughout his career he missed the most shots in nba history
Moe K Wasn’t efficient
What was kobes, wilts or Michaels weakness?

That Hang Hesitation is very uncanny to T-Mac's.
It is. T-mac made a living off of it

tmac has better post moves and fancier finish.
kd has way better shooting range plus %. better handles too

Everyone knows he's one of the greatest scorers, but to be the GOAT scorer you have to actually score more as well... Jordan just has more volume in the playoffs than him. Like PPG wise Jordan is alone lol

He'll be back, that prolific scoring talent will never go away, mark my words. Brooklyn will be nasty in 2021
@La'Rue Mathis that plays like a guard? Yes you can't stop that.
If Kyrie don’t flip, Jordan is cancer and I’m willing to bet Allen won’t be happy about sitting in the bench because of Jordan. Caris Lavert is also a ball dominant guard... might not mesh well with Kyrie
@Dåńīël Grandeùr I fcking called it

I mean you have Jordan, Kobe, KD, Kareem and Karl Malone. I would say those are probably the Top 5 scorers all time. Regardless of however you feel about KD, he’s a 7 footer that can do literally everything on offense and moves like a guard. His jumper is almost unblockable and he can either blow by you or cross you up. It’s hard to say he’s a better scorer than MJ but my god I have never seen a player that can score as easily as KD.
The argument for why KD could be a better scorer than Jordan could be that KD shoots the 3 better
@@gabesoto9301 yeah I agree with every point u made
Eghose Isiramen KD is special, and I really hope he comes back and is most of his old self physically.
Please kd I know Achilles will be nothing for you because your skill is solid enough

100% facts

He will be still be great when he comes back the jumpshot ain't going nowhere
KD post injury will still be a good shooter not excellent but good, mid range monster but he will struggle again going to the basket.
His career is over.

rmtjr237 the most versatile scorer ever man
Plus he can save a ball with him clearly out of bounds. He even shuts down officials... and people in the replay center.

JR swish:I'm right here man.
Yes is the best scorer of all time, he can score when he want in different ways and he make this VS the best defender in the planet so no doubt
his hands are naturally big (i think kawhi has bigger hands, but hes a freak of nature as well) so he can literally palm the ball while dribbling to get the ball into his shot pocket with a single hand. the other hand is just there for assistance for at time of shooting.
as a 6'10 SF who can basically guard 2 through 4 with ease. and some 1s and 5s.
Potential to be all time leading scorer over Kareem if he plays long enough....without question first ballot hall of Famer already

the fact that he's so versatile, can shoot, dribble, finish, plus he's 7 feet, yea he's probably the best scorer ever
He is Definitely the Most prolific scorer ever! Absolute pure shooting and handling. I would put MJ, Kobe, And Dirk in that category too.

1. Kobe
2. Mj
3. KD
4. TMac
5. Melo
Those are my top 5 most skilled scorers.
NBA'S REAL DEAL MR.SUPERSTAR KEVIN DURANT #ONE, THANKS MOMMA DURANT FOR PUSHING KEVIN AND TONY. KEVIN WOW MAKES THE WORLD SMILE!!
He'll forever snatch his opponent's soul 🔥🔥🔥 Forever a great scorer
KD’s undoubtedly the most versatile scorer we’ve ever seen but there’s a difference between being the most versatile & being the best. MJ is still the greatest scorer we’ve ever seen, based on results
CJ Moore Kareem has the most though doesn’t he?
Let's be real tho KD could have like 4 scoring titles at least, KD has been on a stacked team for the past 3 seasons so he hasn't scored as much as he could. He relies marginally on athleticism also compared to Kobe, MJ, etc so he can keep this up till he's 38 aswell and by that time he'll probably stack up the accolades too
mj scored against ice cream truck drivers and bin men.

Best scorer I’ve ever seen. Playing for the warriors really put a ding on his legacy. He should be a legend by now.
He is top 5 for sure. His height advantage and athleticism kind of puts him in the wilt category. Where it’s a little less impressive to some(not me) how he can score at will. MJ, Kobe, Harden are all average NBA height 6-6 so what they do looks a little more harder than KD. He's literally perfect player
KD is literally unguardable especially after the GSW years. Dude came back from a usually career ending injury like it was nothing
You can certainly make an argument for him. I’d also argue prime Jordan and Peak Shaq.
He’s literally so good you can’t even make a perfect build of him on 2k, 7ft 4 level playmaking slasher 😫

Not really. Not a mismatch EVERYwhere. Even in the current NBA look at Giannis
Sniperflashgaming have u seen Giannis guard him? doesn’t fade him at all tony Allen does a way better job then I ever seen Giannis do
Jordan was a bigger mismatch not just on any defender, but on whole team defenses. Jordan averaged 33.4ppg for his playoff career. KD is the most versatile scorer ever though!!
@@D15-b8j lmfao have you watched him this season?

KD my fave player but he has two weaknesses...lower body strength( bump him going left and he more than he should falls to ground) and second, I wouldn't call a weakness totally, BUT wanting to overhandle the rock from far out. Would love to see him give it up earlier and get to his spots

Lem I got LeBron and Kareem over all three of them
*more efficient than jordan
I would say that he's probably a tougher cover as a scorer but he's not the best scorer of all time. Whatever area MJ lacked in that KD is efficient in he made up for. MJ was way more athletic and got to the rim easier. He also didn't need to shoot a lot of 3's because he was unstoppable midrange and at the basket.
@@savonsanders8684 I think you need to watch more MJ highlights....
Been waiting for more videos!
He's top 5...but 10 straight scoring titles in a league dominated by physicality and big men....I have to go Jordan
Wouldn't a league dominated by big men make it easier for Jordan? Because the game is so focused and predicated on the interior and not the perimeter? Just playing devil's advocate...
@@ByAnyMeansBasketball regardless of what u wanna say, Jordan would average over 40 in today's NBA bro
