The problem for Mayako in the US has to do with no American pro drivers running the car now. We American drivers follow what the Pro drivers run as being a good car if there's no Pro Driver running the brand in the states people will think its not competitive enough. It's pretty sad to see brands lose out because of this mindset.
Good point. I’ve thought about that too and I feel like at the very least the reason they haven’t gotten as much traction with pros is that they don’t have a truggy out yet. On the other hand you have Cavalieri running 3 different brands (Sparko, Xray, and Schumacher) making it work but there may be an agreement in the contracts allowing him to run the other brands.
Mayako made a conscious decision late last year to not have any Pro Drivers in the USA this year and to concentrate on the grass roots and building community. Next year the aim is to have at least one Pro Driver in America. This has all been said multiple times on older podcasts and also withing Mayako MPC meetings. Most people within the Mayako MPC thought this was the best way to go this year after Ronnefalk got the boot.
I usually have them at races with me if you need the logos to send to get some made let me know or I usually send stickers when people buy hats or shirts too
I didn’t think it had anything to do with the name more the rules. It’s a lcg chassis and has the wrong transmission. I don’t race oval but I’ve seen the posts from the tracks. It was confusing the shit out of the new people. Traxxas called it mudboss but it does not fit in the mudboss class

Not true we have a mayako and that dang car is amazing
So not everyone thinks like that but a pro racer would help the brand big time thou
