Bill Hayes turned 96 on May 5, 2021 and he's still working on Days of Our Lives! Not every day but often. Love those 1959 Oldsmobiles. The 98 had taillights like a stereopticon.

Back in the day, he recorded 'The Ballad of Davy Crockett'.

Closer to a country style called "Talking blues," but possibly modeled on "Trouble" from the musical The Music Man.

Nice parody on Meridith Wilson's 'He Doesn't Know The Territory' from The Music Man.

Back in the day when a commercial could run for nearly three minutes!

Bill would have made a great Harold Hill and Florence a wonderful Marion. Thanks for this special bit of Florence Henderson. I can't believe she is gone.

My cousin was a full Col. and quite a jokester. He rearranged the letters on his olds to read "Moldieslob" across the front. I was a teenager and thought that was "cool".

Where did they run a commercial that long? Maybe sole sponsor of a special show? October 3, 1958 was a big day for Olds lovers to see the '59s!

My grandparents had an 59 Olds 98. A huge car! We drove to Canada, a 5hr drive. I couldn't believe how cramped it was in the back! 8 years later, I had a Mercedes Finback. A much smaller car, yet the interior was properly laid out, and the back was roomy!
