I'm only here because Jocko said "STOP.... go back and listen to podcast 41 if you haven't already"..... I was too scared to listen to 191 before hearing 41......
I really respect Echo for letting these guys just talk. not that he doesn't have great stuff to add, but I think he realizes these specific episodes are for these guests. in so many other podcasts the interviewers do so much dick measuring and interrupting. Echo is a quiet professional in his own right
Echo asks questions that civilians like me appreciate. I need clarification sometimes and echo gets them to give explanations. Haven’t seen a podcast I didn’t like yet.
A rare skill this day and age, listening. Echo learns from every guest they have on, and the only input he has is usually questions, he’s going to be one knowledgeable sob, and his guidance will be sought after
I felt kinda sad when Tony started talking about his life outside the teams. You can tell he misses it and is a little lost without it. Wish him nothing but the best in his future
100% felt the same way. Especially when he was saying how he drinks a lot, alluding to that's how he copes with it. I really hope he finds a new mission in life that motivates him and keeps him around people he can relate to. I really really hope he finds that. I can't even imagine how hard that transition must be.
+Dain Miller yeah I hope jocko is helping him somehow or just giving him some guidance. Wouldn't mind Tony starting up his own podcast. He's entertaining and unique. He'd have a lot to offer.
He totally needs to get into either training folks, or going to work for Erik Prince or something. Totally agree with you guys, he has to find something better
if you ever watch these usually the guests have a coconut water or some tea or something like that. I like how Tony has a tall can of Bud just chillen. "Of Cuss Naught" lol
This one is absolutely fucking amazing. Still not done listening, but always so great when Jocko gets one of his friends on - more Leif, more Tony - Leif & Tony together, awesome content, great stories, great lessons, thank you so much guys!
Jesse Ruiz You see, except Brandon Webb is a part of that.. and if you don't know the story behind him, then read around. I'm not even enlisted yet but when I heard what he did I was surprised
I'd like to see BTF Tony and Tim Kennedy together on an episode. Those two guys seem to be the craziest and funniest of all his guests. But a roundtable with Admiral Hulk Richards, Roger Hayden and John Stryker Meyer would be gold. The OGs smokin and jokin
Thank you Jocko and Tony. A Good reminder of how real men handle real adversity. I think BTF is exactly the same attitude our Founding Fathers had when they stood up to the Brits and not only declared our independence, but fought and won it. We don't have the same men or arms to beat you, but we will just BTF until we win. Awesome. Hope you are back on the podcast soon, Mr. Eafrati.
I've known Tony for years and he's an amazing person. Still see him to this day in northern nh and he always makes you feel like a friend. You can always have a good time with Tony and mad dog Mike. Respect
"Iron Marshmallow" had me laughing out loud. So many quotables and great stories... The whole cast is great, but my favorite part by far is seeing how sincere Tony is. Guy strikes me as a pretty amazing "chum."
Jocko - I was not nor was I ever an operator, however, I was a career long support SNCO to operators (Combat Controllers/PJs) at JSOC and I cannot tell you how much I enjoy listening to these interviews! Clearly, I was not a team guy, but I worked for decades alongside the team guys doing what support guys like me do...take as much "non-operator shit" off the operator's plate as we possibly could so you guys could guy kill savages. There was a special kinship, at least in JSOC, between support and operators...clearly not like that of team guys, but similar in its own right. Although never a gunfighter I too miss the life we all once had.....being part of the greater team was and remains the more rewarding part of my life. Much of the reason I am successful after active duty is because of all of the lessons I learned from supporting special operators....they never quite so nor did we...we couldn't! They would not let problems slow them down and nor could we. Many operators chose to stay ion the team and capped out at E-7 on the enlisted side.....and so did us support guys. We could have left the special mission units and ascended the ranks, but we chose to stay and serve.....such an honor and blessing to have served with the operators...this nation's finest and I am eternally grateful. HOYA Sir! Brian "MS" Matthews
I laughed with you guys but at certain points I could feel the emotion, and you could see it in tony, when he closed his eyes. I could see he definitely isn't where he'd prefer outside the military. I hope he finds that kick ass job or hobby that he can get after every day.
So much respect for these men. I really enjoy the sit downs with his choice of guests (fellow team members especially) and the range of topics. They leave me so motivated, grateful and thankful. Echo Charles laughing in the background at them reminiscing on the funny times is me over here. Always look forward these.
I just like Tony. He reminds me of a couple guys I grew up with. Kind a guy that takes it and keeps moving forward. I'm thankful for him and his service. Thanks Tony and all the military. He's a true inspiration.
Jocko,if you could do the world another favor please have this gentleman back on or make him write a memoirs. Thanks in advance, that goes for you too echo.

Holy crap this is the first Jocko video I've watched - always listened on stitcher. Echo's voice barely matches his body ahah. I was expecting a Joey Diaz and Lee Syatt sorta character
Jocko your podcast is incredible. I can't get enough of the conversations and stories on the show. Have you ever talked about Lone Survivor / Marcus Luttrell on the podcast?
I noticed Tony is working for a landscape company. Respect to landscape but these guys should be significantly financially secured for the remainder of there days.
armand niosi definitely agree. These men have a skill set that very few people possess. I can’t believe he was never hired by like a security contracting company that overseas or something.
Tony is the MAN! Please tell him to start a podcast of his own! He already has the title... "BTF" ! Loved this episode! Thanks for providing all this incredible content Jocko and Echo Charles.
Me too! One of the best podcasts out there! Jocko has inspired and motivated me to live a more fulfilling and disciplined life. I have learnt so many life lessons just from listening to jocko, can't wait to get his book :)
Just listened to Andy stumpfs' podcast he and his guest talked briefly about tony . They both agreed that he was one of the best and toughest frog men they had served with.
What a great podcast. I've watched/listened to this one twice, though I'm years late. Jocko and Tony are awesome. Respect to you Team guys from Oz. You may have worked/trained with our SOF forces during your military careers.
Senior Chief, you have some stories about Subic Bay circa 1980's? My grandpa retired there in Lower Kalaklan after the war and raised my dad and uncles in the American way. Growing up in Olongapo and Bataan, I wish more Americans here know about that part of the Philippine Islands.
I served with Tony at PRT Ghazni in 2010. I still tell "Uncle Tony" stories to this day. I used to try to copy his accent and get pretty good. Thank you for having him on your show.
2nd half of this podcast is absolutely hilarious - Tony is an absolute riot. Love the story about Jocko walking into Team 1 and seeing the guy with the milk jug 😂 I’m not military at all but as someone who grew up without a father I am constantly finding male role models in different forms and these guys are huge role models to developing “man” skills, compassion, class, toughness and conducting yourself as a man. I very much appreciate this podcast.
I've been a listener and watcher of this show for a while now and this is the first Tony episode I've heard. It's really helping me understand how these guys would think and communicate during operations, and I feel like I understand Jocko a bit more now.
I am addicted to this shit. I'm going to have to go to rehab to get away from this podcast....... God bless all these Warriors thanks for keeping us all safe.
Wow thanks for the interview Jocko and thank you Chief. I’m from Exeter NH and I am going to look for this amazing soldier next time I’m home. I have never seen Jocko laugh so much. When he said I landed in Kandahaaaaaa I loved it! Thank you as always for your service to this great nation gentlemen. 🦅 🇺🇸

Thank you for recording this for upcoming generations. Great broadcast!
As american citizens we are truly lucky to have badass dudes like this serving. Seriously g.i joes aint got nothing on these guys. God bless america. Thanks for kicking ass gents
Loved this one! Laughed a lot to! Made it even better that I was born and raised in Maine. Went to Army basic training in Fort Benning GA in 2000 (June, July, Aug) Made so much sense about higher percentages of Seals from New England making it. I live in Austin, Texas now, and go Jog and do 100,s of Pushups when it's like 103 Out, and the locals are whining about the heat! And I'm all like wtf I'm out here getting it done, and I'm from Maine where its Wicked Facken Cold!
More Tony please. He's fascinating, entertaining, and inspiring. I'm surprised he went into landscaping. I hope that's what he wanted. Then again, he doesn't strike me like the kind of person who shirks goals.
I'm late to the game but working my way through all the podcasts. As several have said, this one was the most "entertaining" to me so far - probably because it was really funny and because it's just fun to sit and listen to these two vets talk about their actual experiences in combat.
