  • Recently, I have been having a lot of pain, irritation and itchiness associated with my permanent intravenous line (IV line) called a PICC line which I use for my IV nutrition called TPN. I was sent to the emergency department at the hospital because there was a concern the area around the PICC line either had contact dermatitis or an infection. So you got your 50,000 mile check, fluids tested , hoses replaced, etc, you should be good till the end of the warranty period now. Glad everything went smoothly for the visit and changeover. You made the right decision to get the PICC line moved. Planned ahead, got it done. In your situation you want to keep surprises and emergency's to a minimum. Great medical knowledge on your part, staying on top of your situation also. Take care God Bless Russ

Hope everything works out my wife and I love your videos. My wife requires oxygen along with the ventilator this limits are traveling time. Can you tell me if you require oxygen and what is your secret for long distance travel with the oxygen
    Thanks

Hello. Thank you for your kind words.
I do not use oxygen. I only use a ventilator.
Your wife should talk to a respiratory therapist or medical equipment company. Depending on the amount of oxygen she is receiving, she may be able to use a portable oxygen concentrator. Oxygen concentrators can be used for extended periods of time on battery. Some of the models have car chargers. Also, if you might be flying, some of the models are approved by the FAA for use while flying.

Hey There, I was wondering if you have any advice on the process of upgrading the ventilator. My pulmonologist says He can't Admit Me into the Hospital to Do The Process. BUT I Refuse to Do it the In Home way. I get My Trach & Vent in August of 2005 at the Age of 12, and March of 2025 I'll be 32 y/o. We're currently in the process of packing up and will be moving soon; and at our current residence which is like an hr away from a hospital, I don't feel safe or comfortable doing it the In Home way. And I haven't really found Anything that could help me get admitted in order to start the process. I have seen some of your videos before, and thought I would ask you to see if you have any advice or knowledge from experiencing this. Hope You're Doing Well 💜

Hello. Thank you for your comment. I am not sure what your mean by "upgrading" the ventilator. Do you mean you are to stop using the ventilator? Are you changing to different settings on the ventilator? Or are you changing from one ventilator to another? My apologies. I am not sure what you are asking about.

My question about your picture is: why don’t you have a dressing on it?! 😮
Unless you removed it before taking the pic. Please tell me you had a dressing…

Hello. Yes, the dressing was taken off so the area could be cleaned and examined. I took a photo of it to show my doctor.
