Thank you so much Valerie for this very easy to understand video. I have been posting videos for around four years now, without knowing that I can do this! I was concerned about a video which I have just posted as I know that the audio sounded a bit muffled in a few places and that, with my Australian accent, can make it hard for viewers to understand what I'm saying. No one wants to watch a video where they can't hear properly or, at least, have subtitles. So, I searched for how to do this and your video popped up. Couldn't have been any better. Thank you ever so much. Now, after seeing how badly the auto captions is, I must start going through my other videos and do the same. Thanks again. Alison Hood from Western Australia 💕
Has youtube changed this? My caption editing page looks quite different - it doesn't have the blocks for each subtitle, instead it's one long list. Editing this updates the subtitles for a bit, but after working for several minutes it breaks and no longer updates the subtitles.
Thank you for the video. It is helpful. I also would like to know how to edit captions of the third-party RUclips video. Do we need to have a Premium account to do it? You are correct! There are many RUclips videos with audio captions that do not meet accessibility. How can we upload these videos and edit them? Thank you. Elena
Best advice is to contact the creator, as they are the only ones who can upload a CC file to the video itself. You can also download the auto-generated transcript file from YT and make corrections and provide that to your students... better than nothing! Good luck!
Same here unfortunately. And I can't find so far any info online on whether this is a bug, or you just need to wait, or whether it's just for already monetized channels... No clue. 😐
@@Penguinprof I've figured out a workaround directly on RUclips if that Duplicate and Edit link isn't available and I'm using that for now. It's just a bit weird, that for some accounts the functionalities don't look to be the same as for other accounts.

They are constantly changing... but with so many AI tools out now, it's easier than ever to get transcripts to upload.
