She didn’t get a gift because she was meant to be the next Matriarch of her family like her Abuela. When the Abuela passed away it will be her that takes over to give the next generation their gifts
She never got a power, What was happening was she is the new caretaker of the powers, it passes down, that's why she was never given a gift, Abuela never had a gift as well, it also shows with how in sync she was with the house and obviously the door with gifting everyone their powers back. I think their ability is the power of the gifts, It's not the candle that gives the powers, just the monument that represents them, So when Abuela lost her husband she was grief stricken and cried which activated the powers. And now Mirabel is the next generation the next person to take over for the family so she was able to recreate the casa and give everyone their gifts back. But real question, Does Mirabel have a room now? Because Abuela had a room in the house and she didn't have powers, now that Mirabel is the new head of the house do you think it gave her a room and now Abuela has to sleep in the nursery? XD But seriously I think they could have just built her a room, she shouldn't have had to sleep there. It's stupid and talk about feeling left out. Yall should watch MattPatt's True villain of Encanto video it's really funny.
