    I actually tried reversing the bridge pickup like you said in the comments it really didn't make much of a difference. However if you have any q if you pull out the 2.5 k you will get basically this tone

    • @alexeyzavolokin
      @alexeyzavolokin  3 года назад

      Yes. Mid cut make sense. I usuallly cut from 1,5 to 2,5 aproximately.

    • @alexeyzavolokin

      Make sure your OUTER coils are working. This changes the whole game
      But there were some few trb1006 models that had this setting as default. Most of the times both coils turned on one side. Both on bridge side or on the neck side.

      Hi @@alexeyzavolokin,
      Your tone is super cool on this video.
      Could you explain what you mean with both coils working? How can one verify whether that's the case in a TRB1006J?
      Thank you in advance.

    you have a perfect tone, are you using a pickup in addition to the guitar, 3 of them are visible from here and are you using a mark bass that you turn around and tune? how do you get so many mids and highs I have the same model, but it sounds very dull, there are not enough mids and highs

    • @alexeyzavolokin

      Hi. Thank you. Here's stock pickups and preamp. But bridge pickup is reversed. This is the key to the better sound. Sound recorded direct into interface. Please read my response to other comments to this video for more info. Best regards.

    Wow..I just say wow.
    I still can not understand that tone on Yamaha.
    Is that made in korean Yamaha or indonesia made trb?
    I want to buy TRB1005j which made in indonesia.
    I wonder if you can teach me how did you make the grate jazz bass slap tone. Use Pick up balance knob can make ..? More use front pick up? Rear pick up?

    • @alexeyzavolokin
      @alexeyzavolokin  5 лет назад +4

      Hi. The first and the best thing you can do to improve the tone is reverse the pickups so coils should stand on outer sides. The factory setting is usually both coils turned to one side. This makes sharp and thin sound. Just try and you'll hear a huge difference in tone!

    • @basskid_doctor
      @basskid_doctor 5 лет назад

      @@alexeyzavolokin first, thanks for your reply.
      So you mean, swap front pick up backwards, rear pick up forward? Or rotating up and down (180 degrees) on each pick up?
      As you say, it's not a matter of trb1005 or trb1005j itself.
      Actually I'm hesitating to buy between old trb1005 and 1005j made in Indonesia.

      @@basskid_doctor these pickups are single coil with dummy coil which don't sound but reduces the noise. Working coil is on one side of the pickup,dummy coil is on another. So take the screwdriver and touch the pickups while bass pluged in a amp. This will help you to find on what side the working coil is. Then you have to reverse the pickups so neck pickup coil will be closer to the neck and bridge pickup closee to the bridge.
