That's the freakiest take up platter method I've ever seen. It looks like it gets several wraps and then caves in and repeats.

we used to call the kinoton machines the tin can and bike chain grave stone, but they were brilliant.

If you look at the star shape that the film forms you will see that the inner layers bend in and out more than the inner ones do, so the inner layers contain the same amount of film for each turn as the outer layers, so the film does not have to rub against itself as it moves from the edge of the platter to the centre. Clever, but give me twenty minute reels and changeovers any day.

Platters I worked with had a "tucker arm" that pushed the film inward rhythmically, driven by a track on the underside. I don't see how the film takes on the hump shapes in your video to achieve inner and outer length equality without this?

No that was the cinemeccanica looper. This Kinoton uses an electronic system to articulate the film.

Endless loops are clever and this one is more sophisticated than the others I've seen but I don't like the fact that film layers must slide over each other as the film moves from outside to inside.
And I fail to see the point. Is it really necessary to save 5 minutes of time per show? Don't you want to make sure the gate and other parts are clean?

    Yes, I know this ;)
But press the button in the CP and turn off the lights is a nice video effect to end the video ... Is a poetic device :D

Intendi il passaggio sul debitore superiore? E' corretto passare sotto il rullo folle, come indicato dallo schema sullo stesso proiettore.

To destroy the original soundtrack with this terrible music is not really intelligent... to say it in a friendly way... :-(
