Got in a match with a guy doing the same thing yesterday, me and my duo died off rip but didn't want to make the excuse of "oh man if we had a 3rd player". Just went and made a snack while the rat got us 100+ LP. Truly a win win
If a person is obvious in the playstyle I don't mind as much. The ones that truly annoy me are when they land with you and the fight starts, but THEN they dip out at the sound of gunfire...so you think you have a 3v3, but in reality its 2v3 cause the player has no intention of playing with you.

No, I will continue to hate the player along with the system. Opting to hide all game and avoid fights in a FPS game just to achieve a rank that doesn’t carry any weight is pretty cringe. Any average player could hit masters this season by just playing smart with the way hidden MMR is functioning. There is fault on both sides here, respawn for implementing the system and dogshit players for exploiting it. Made for one of the worst seasons for apex for viewership and active players. But don’t worry guys, they’re fixing it next season! EA and respawn can keep their game, I’m over it.

The BIG problem has its origins in the pre-season era. The 20 kill and 4k badges turned a half gunning/half strategy game into a bunch of braindead octanes/paths, and selfish wraiths, trying to get individual achievements in a game that has no true solo mode. They had to RUIN every good character to make people play anything but DPS. They created a selfish community like no game ever has. OG CoD and Halo were toxic, but I've never seen such acutely mean and selfish people gather in one place, outside of maybe a Holister or Gucci store. The COMMUNITY is broken, not the game. You can't award kills because that one player will always ruin the game by brain-dead throwing, and a rat will always ruin a "team players" game. There's no fixing the generally awful group of people who still cling to this half-baked game as a form of entertainment. It's just a bunch of hyper aggressive depressed introverts with no social skills. I can find team-style play maybe 1/5 ranked games, and they're all new players who are destined to uninstall after getting destroyed by a pred on a smurf in a bronze lobby. RIP Apex

I don't think he's technically sabotaging either, since he is playing for placement, but I'm surprised from the hundreds of games he's played his random teammates haven't reported enough to have some effect (lack of which means Respawn is okay with it- that is, 0 damage at all!)

My ONLY issue with this is if you drop somewhere and on early rotations just Don't find a fight....so it gets down to 6-7 teams and you get pinched/or just simply lose the 3v3 by a bit. SO then you have literally been penalized for not getting contested and having your early rotation be safe.

I got Pred the first time it came out I've been playing since day one I didn't play for a good year got back on got masters got off focused on Pred got it 8 times I decided to try this Bec of sweet I'm doing this I get nothing but hate but it's w.e And most othe people this season never got masters so I understand the stress behind it they made it this season to have a nice end game players have that chance right now to take advantage of placement it's boring scrims high tier events do it big streamers do it once this season is over that chance will never come again after the ranked stats this season
This season is just ridiculous. I started playing it 10 days ago starting from the very bottom and I’m diamond 1 now without even breaking a sweat. I’m an aggressive player and on big maps like stormpoint it is not rare that I just can’t find a team or even hear a gunshot while running around none stop until there between 12-10 teams left. You barely lose lp even when trying to actually fight. The worse I seen yet is diamond teammate being actual trash. We dropped hot on a team and when we won the fight I had 650 damage and each of them had 0 and 12. And they were shooting!! I’ve never seen that in a diamond lobby in any other seasons I played in. Like don’t pick up guns at all at this point.
im d2 playing like, once or twice a week, i didn't have a single game where my teamates did more damage than i did and most of the times they're all higher ranks than i am lol my kdr in ranked is 2.5 basically by 1v3ing teams every game on hot drops

Different strokes for differnt folks- if someone wants to sit and skeeve for LP, good on them- not my play style and wouldn't seem very fun for to long for me- interestingly, played yesterday with lvl 75 pred revenant on playstation, and that player skeeved to 2nd place, never with the squad the whole match... to each their own!
I think there is a balance needed, but I also felt that in previous seasons the emphasis on kills was far too high when compared to trying to WIN the match. This is still a BR after all and high placement/Winning should be rewarded instead of treating it as it has been in some seasons as essentially a Kill Race style game and not a BR.
I think they did this to get people to spend more money. If they feel like they are a top tier player they wont mind paying the rediculous prices for heirlooms or cosmetics
I'm not mad, the game doesn't reward try harding or trying at all frankly. Best way to get Lp is to do literally nothing. The couple of games ive won in masters with even 4 kills i've gotten 200 lp.. pathetic.
For me, it isn't just too easy for the casual, but there is little incentive to push early fights since you don't get KP. That makes early game so boring if you have rat partners
but theres little punishment for dying early so you might as well take as many fights as you realistically can to get better. until theres serious repercussions for dying early, its a W key kind of meta in my opinion

He's literally doing nothing wrong, though. To win in Apex, you have to be the last squad alive. That is it. It's not a race to the finish, you don't win by having the most kills, you literally win by surviving until the end. This guy takes an unconventional approach to achieving that, obviously the majority of us don't have the patience to do so and we just want to engage in some fun gunplay. I'm not saying I would play the same way as him, but he is literally not doing anything wrong. He just thought outside the box and yall are mad that you try your hardest and can't get past Diamond. I met a number 241 pred who played outside the zone for 3 zones and then told me I was bad and also I was frustrated that he didnt help us. He didnt get any kills came in 2nd
Makes me feel better knowing that at least if I hit platinum this season, means im still a diamond player at least cause I took a 2 year break and come back to 19% of the apex community in masters. Higher than any other ranks. I usually get 5+kill games with intense fights and some games higher because that alot of those fights the enemy was completely braindead probably low gold players. Some fights they would be right in front of me and miss every single shot. This system is a joke.

No reason to give platform to this guy... If you dont see how this hurts the majority of the player base, then IDK what to tell you. Yes, the system has flows, but should we destroy other people's games to abuse the system? Ratting falls under at least 2 categories of the report options - sabotage and inactive during match. This behaviour is actually griefing us the people who want to play the game it is supposed to be played. And it is super annoying because, as you can guess, there are 2 or 3 people who can just drop 5K as a duo and still win the game with a rat on their team. Promoting this guy, will encourage more players to do this, hence making the ranked environment even more toxic.
Furthermore, no one gives a F about the actual rank this season. I'm masters already and get on to play a couple of good games. And the quality of games on EU servers has actually been very good recently, especially on stormpoint. The other day I played a game where there were 19 teams alive when zone 1 closed and 16 teams alive when zone 2 closed. The last zone had 5 teams alive. When I get a rat on my team, I have to instantly die so I can just start the next game ASAP. IDGAF about the -35, I just want to play a good game.

By definition it is not sabotage. You are gaining lp by ratting not losing, he may be hindering your playstyle but not sabotaging the game. It's sabotage/inactive when your teammate punches you off the map or afks in storm and dies. Not saying it's healthy for the game, but it's objectively not wrong.

Makes me feel better knowing that at least if I hit platinum this season, means im still a diamond player at least cause I took a 2 year break and come back to 19% of the apex community in masters. Higher than any other ranks. I usually get 5+kill games with intense fights and some games higher because that alot of those fights the enemy was completely braindead probably low gold players. Some fights they would be right in front of me and miss every single shot. This system is a joke.

It's not really Sabatoge if he is getting you rp..if you leave early and lose rp because he is ratting that's on you...now before you rip my head off just understand I DO NOT AGREE with this playstyle and completely understand how bad it sux to be the 1 or 2 on your team that actually want to play the game the way it should be played and really sux having to just sit there and stare at nothing..but..if there is a chance to gain positive RP just by waiting then you may as well grab a snack and a drink amd just let it happen..its really sad that is what has become of the ranked system but it is what it is at the moment unfortunately..but reporting him isn't gonna work because he technically isn't doing anything wrong.

No reason to give platform to this guy... If you dont see how this hurts the majority of the player base, then IDK what to tell you. Yes, the system has flows, but should we destroy other people's games to abuse the system? Ratting falls under at least 2 categories of the report options - sabotage and inactive during match. This behaviour is actually griefing us the people who want to play the game it is supposed to be played. And it is super annoying because, as you can guess, there are 2 or 3 people who can just drop 5K as a duo and still win the game with a rat on their team. Promoting this guy, will encourage more players to do this, hence making the ranked environment even more toxic.
Furthermore, no one gives a F about the actual rank this season. I'm masters already and get on to play a couple of good games. And the quality of games on EU servers has actually been very good recently, especially on stormpoint. The other day I played a game where there were 19 teams alive when zone 1 closed and 16 teams alive when zone 2 closed. The last zone had 5 teams alive. When I get a rat on my team, I have to instantly die so I can just start the next game ASAP. IDGAF about the -35, I just want to play a good game.

@@StompOnStef No? This guy is afk doing nothing. I've never had a problem with hot dropping even if they are 34 dmgs. Sometimes a hard contest goes your way sometimes it does not. Ratting is 100% worse than losing an of drop contest.
It's no secret..its to late for that, have you seen how many masters there are this season until they fix this ranked system this is what we're gonna get..not this kids fault at all for playing the game(or not playing) the way the devs made it.. I just don't understand how they didn't think this was gonna be a massive problem, but the reality is this is what we got until they overhaul the system again..its sad unfortunately
By definition it is not sabotage. You are gaining lp by ratting not losing, he may be hindering your playstyle but not sabotaging the game. It's sabotage/inactive when your teammate punches you off the map or afks in storm and dies. Not saying it's healthy for the game, but it's objectively not wrong.
