Ghostmane has a unique style in a world of mainstream artists who sound rather similar
You should listen to his album ANTI ICON. It's ACTUALLY trap metal. With some industrial and experimental in it too.
This track mercury is one of his trappiest "mainstream" songs.
The "fed up" track you picked to listen to in the end. Is basically the only track in the newest album that "honors" his earliest stuff.
So please listen to his album ANTI ICON in full, you will definitely enjoy it.

He should listen to FEAR NETWORK and BAADER MEINHOF/EVIL LIVES tho. That's his actual hardcore/black metal stuff. Maybe then he'd acknowledge him as an actual metal artist besides him making tons of references to old school black/death metal etc. In his early music

Nah.. you get it! That’s Lord Infamous and Koopsta. He has other styles but it’s heavily inspired. Finally someone has the same gut reaction I had. I actually fw a bunch of his stuff tho cause I loved Mystic Styles era stuff

Man so many people don’t realize old triple six mafia influenced alot of this new style rap. Haha lord infamous man I used to ride around with my brother bumping “ridin in da chevy” and “walk up to ya house” thinking I was cool lol. And getting high as hell listening to “niggaz ain’t barin dat.” The memories were great.

Rnb (Sleep Token), hip hop (Hyro the Hero, Fever 333), soul (nightlife), pop (Rain Paris, Poppy), southern rock (Black Label Society), blues (Zeal & Ardor), folk (Primus), funk (Korn), punk (Suicidal Tendencies), hardcore (Hatebreed), goth rock (Type 0 Negative), jazz (Polyphia, Animals as Leaders), classical (Epica), hardrock (Prong), and hybrid music (Twelve Foot Ninja).
My main issue with trap metal is that it's really trap with only metal's tone and sense of darkness, but it's not metal musically. Personally, there has to be riffs, and I love nu metal and rap metal. The emphasis on bass is adding an element of "heaviness" to the sound, which is probably where the idea of being metal may come from. If they used a guitar/riff-like element in the music (even similar to the dubstep "grind effect" it could probably work).
As a music style, I respect it. Personally, I prefer to call it trapcore, where -core is a root to imply that it has hardcore (or metal... nowadays) influences while being trap. Calling it trap metal means that trap is the adjective and metal is the main music identity, which I disagree with. I know Rico Nasty is also associated with trap metal as well.
You are THE ONLY PERSON I've seen besides myself that hears Three Six Mafia in Ghostemane. Not like a copycat or anything, just a strong three six influence, but if you mixed it with Nine Inch Nails, lol.
Also, I saw someone describe his music as "trap metal" and I agree.

three six mafia was 90's memphis rap and 90's memphis literally birthed trap and other genres like phonk so maybe that's why he said it was like three six

Big 3-6 fan. Loved lord infamous (rip ricky) but thats what i like about ghost. He has a combination of styles that make him unique.
U should definitely check Hades, Trench Coat, Drown, Hexada, Inside, Wretched (but the only Ghostemane version) and Flesh. Those are pure fuckin fire
Ghostemane hates the term trap metal and doesn't want to be associated with it. His true fans that LISTEN and UNDERSTAND what he's saying and what his ambitions are know that. A lot of his fans don't know wtf his message is and think he's edgy and satanic. Please listen to his Fear Network 1+2 EP's they're an interesting blend of Hardcore and Grindcore, also Listen to his Project Baader Meinhof. He released 2 Black Metal EPs that are very good and sound trve kvlt lol. Also he has some strong metal influence in his latest album (Every song besides fed up and hellrap, in one song you can hear a piano version of freezing moon by mayhem) and even in the album Mercury is from (Rake, drown etc.). He actually is part of the culture and he honors it by making a ton of old school black, death metal references in his older music especially. He knows what he's doing and he's amazing. I can't but have pure respect and admiration for artists that push boundaries and go their very own path. He's so inspirational, from his music to his personality.

Listen to Vagabond by ghostemane. It’s much more metal based and way better fits “trap metal” then mercury. Mercury is more just dark trap but ghoste hasn’t a whole bunch of different types of songs he does

I just started listening to him a couple of days ago. So I'm not a huge fan, I like his stuff
But first things first, he's a rapper, that incorporates metal, not a metal artist that incorporates rap. You just reacted to more his rapper side, then clicked on a another song that was more on the rapper side. As far as them sounding the same, I mean he does have roots. Can't expect him to sound totally different. Plus those songs only have like a 3 year gap

I'd say it's the other way around. He's a full metal head who played in bands since he was young and then started to get interest in rap and made a career out of it. Theres so many metal references (Euronymous, mayhem, burzum, the "blood on my grandma floor" , leprosy, until the light takes us, exhumed and many more) and samples from a marilyn mansons interview etc. in his old rap songs, only a few fans seem to notice or know those bands. BUT since he did metal all along, he mixed those two and other genres because it's his passion to create new things I guess.
