I honestly think most people don't actually put themselves into Stark's mindset in Avengers. We would barely defend an invasion from a hostile country let alone an alien race.
We sit on the edge of oblivion even now when it comes to nature on our planet, and if anything from outside our planet were to collide with Earth then all life could stand to be lost.
Chaos is unsympathetic and uncaring of our anything.
We are but a mote of dust in a sea of of unending chaos that threatens our existence at all times but people cry daily about what should be given to them on a silver platter while millions of children starve on the somewhere else in the world.

I don’t want Tony to die, but I feel like he’ll sacrifice himself to kill Thanos somehow. I know Captain Marvel is being introduced and we believe she’s the one to kill Thanos, but the best way to end this part of the MCU is by the person who started it.
Tony's suffered enough. Cap's probably eager for a heroic death, let him have it.
im here post endgame and im just gonna say that I am crying my eyes out. this edit is ridiculously good and encapsulates tony's character and who he IS so well it hurts. Tony deserved better. he deserved so much better.
