- A malaria vaccine with “world-changing” potential has been developed by UK scientists.
The team at the University of Oxford expect it to be rolled out next year after trials showed up to 80% protection against the deadly disease.

This is the best news I've heard in ages. Congratulations to all involved and here's hoping that it is as successful - or better - as is reported. But don't rest on your laurels. One day, all people should have 100% immunity, because as odd as it seems, eradication of mosquitoes is not the answer.
There are many species, only some of which carry the parasite, and they all play a part in the environmental web; as food and pollinators, for example. But the parasite itself can be eradicated, and by having fewer hosts (other mammals do get bitten by them, sadly), there'll be fewer parasites to continue the horror of malaria.
